Chapter 30 - Escape.
Cassie -  I heard Thomas climbing out of the car and I turned to see if he was following. I hear his terrifying growl as I see him shift into his wolf and jump on the first man approaching the vehicle. I turned back around and continued onwards. I can hear the fighting and I run, I move as fast as I can in my weakened state, crashing through the brush and stumbling over roots, running deeper into the forest. I dare not look back again, it will only slow me down. Instead, I keep going, moving forwards. After a little while, I hear what sounds like a roar and then I hear Thomas scream. The sound chills me to the bone and I fall, landing hard. I feel my wrist snap and cry out in pain. Then Thomas' voice breaks me from the fog of pain clouding my mind."Run Cassie, don't stop!" He screams and his voice reverberates around me, pulling me from my stupor, "Run my love an

I'm the Gamma of the pack. I didn't inherit the role though, the previous gamma was childless, I earned the role by being loyal and by defeating all other applicants, originally I was just a warrior. not that there is anything wrong with being a warrior, but when I was handed the Gamma power l, I knew I was born for this role. Chapter 32 - Hiding and helping her.
Jason -  I have a small slightly rundown cabin to the north of our territory which I use mainly to store clothes for shifting purposes, but it has a mattress and a small kitchenette. Daisy suggests I hide the girl there, while she holds our position. I make my way to the cabin and deposit her onto the mattress, it is a little musty so I take some time opening the window and scooping some of the debris out the door, then I place one of my jumpers over her as a blanket. It is the best I can do for now. I manage to find a scrap of paper and a pen and write her a note just in case she wakes up before I finish my patrol and come back. You are safe here, please stay and await my return, use anything you can find, I will bring food, clothes and some medical su

Chapter 33 - Typical
Jason -  Great, just great, leaving the Alpha office with a sinking feeling in my stomach that is the only thing I can think. Absolutely typical, I knew they had to be connected, I'm harbouring a criminal. Jack told me that he had received a call from Twin Lakes Pack, the pack nearest to ours. The Beta called to inform him that they have a woman missing and that they are looking for her, she is accused of murdering their Luna with a cocktail of wolfsbane and liquid silver. According to the Beta, their Alpha is not doing well, which isn't surprising with his mate gone, and that the Beta has been tasked with finding the culprit and delivery her sentence, apparently he is the heir to the Alpha position and wishes to handle this situation quickly to demonstrate his ability

Chapter 34 - Waking
Cassie -  I'm dreaming, of that much I am positive, opening my eyes slowly, I find I'm in a field full of daffodils once again, and I turn slowly in a circle, on the spot multiple times looking for any sign of the moon goddess or of my wolf. I'm hoping, almost praying that during this meeting my wolf will come back to me. I feel perfectly fine here, though I know I am still injured from my escape, I can't see or feel my injuries in this place. I spin on the spot so often that I start to get dizzy, so spotting a large boulder at the edge of the field, I decide to head over to it and sit down while I wait. I pick my way carefully through the bright blooms and gingerly perch myself upon it. After what feels like an eternity I finally see movement across the field. There is a bush rustling over there and slowly my wolf step

Chapter 35 - Questions answered.
Jason -  A soft shuffling sound rouses me, from the light sleep I managed to fall into, a little before dawn. I can see the sky is beginning to lighten on the horizon through the open window above the cot. The rustling sound that woke me then draws my eyes to the girl before me, she is curled into a ball in the corner with her doe like eyes fixed on me, she doesn't blink and so, nor do I.Very slowly, hoping to not startle the girl, I sit up from the slouch I had sunk into, maintaining eye contact, then I lean forwards with my elbows on my knees and speak quietly, as if to a bird."Hey there little one, my name is Jason, I am Gamma of this pack, can you tell me what happened to you?" I figured there is no point beating around the bush, I need to know what kind of situation I am de

Chapter 36 - Besties
Daisy -  Once I finally manage to get Jase out of the cabin I turn to the girl and beam at her, she shrinks back away from me and I deflate a little, is she scared of me? I slowly take a step towards her showing her my hands as though she were a feral beast, and I perch on the edge of the armchair facing her. When I sit she seems to relax a little, guess she isn't a hugger, maybe my entrance was a bit too much for her. But I couldn't stop myself, hearing her story through the door broke my heart, to have gone through all of that in such a short space of time, most of the women I know would be rocking in a corner after that.So I sit and try not to fidget too much, hoping that by being calm I can help her calm down a bit."So, in case you missed it, I'm Daisy," I say, hoping she wi

Chapter 37 - They LOST her???
Ace -  She got away? How could she have escaped? I bang my fists on the desk before me and the warriors, who were here to provide me with an update on the task of her capture, jump startled by the sudden noise in the otherwise silent room. I let out a growl and they shrink into themselves, cleverly fearing me.Maddie stands from her seat beside me and runs her hands across my back and arms, trying to distract me from my anger. "They will get her love, and when they do you will be able to handle her anyway you see fit," she purrs in my ear."Leave us," I snarl and the warriors don't hesitate, they scramble for the door, shoving each other trying to be the first to get out."What does i

Chapter 38 - Confession
Jason -  After finishing our shift we both head back to the cabin, and to Cassie, I need to see her, to be sure she is safe. When I leave her the urge to return grows the longer we are apart, I still don't understand this connection but for now I'm going to go with it. Hopefully once Jack knows I will be able to search for some answers, but for now, well, it is what it is I guess. When we get to the cabin Cassie is already up and waiting for us, she knew one of us would be by. I let her know where I am going. Now I have seen her, the ache has dissipated. As I leave I hear Daisy start to explain the plan. I don't want to leave knowing how worried Cassie will be, but I trust Daisy will keep her calm and distracted.First I pop into

Chapter 39 - Clean at last
Cassie -. I woke up with the birds, I fell asleep early last night and I feel well rested, I made some coffee for Daisy and Jason. I know at least one of them will be by soon and I will make myself some hot chocolate. Daisy noticed my sweet tooth quickly and made sure to bring me sweet snacks as well as healthy ones. I sip my drink nibbling on some apple slices while I wait for them. I have been using a small pond behind the cabin for water to wash myself but I still feel dirty, I need a shower and to wash my hair. Daisy also brought me soaps and some dry shampoo and other toiletries, but the shampoo only works for like a day, and it has been at least 3 days since I thoroughly washed. When they arrive I am surprised to see both of them. I pour Daisy a coffee but Jason declines, he is heading back now to talk to their Alpha, he say
