Keeping Your Distance

Matilda's POV. Sunlight came into the room because last night I didn't close the curtains on the bedroom window. My eyes were still squinting to adjust to the light. Even though I still feel very tired and sleepy, I still have to get up to work. I got out of bed, then cleaned myself and got ready to go to activities as usual. Coming out of the room, I didn't find Amelie in the dining room. Looking at the door to her room, the door was still closed tightly. My steps slowly approached the dining table. "Where is she, Ma?" I said as I glanced back at Amelie's bedroom door for a moment. "Already gone." Mama answered briefly, then put a plate of breakfast for me. "Let's eat, you'll be late and miss the bus." She said with a smile. Honestly, I feel something is strange today. Do they really do what I want? I drank a glass of water to calm myself for a moment. My eyes looked at my mother who happened to be sitting right in front of me. Between us there is only a table that divides us

A Good Opportunity

Amelie's POV. Five months later. My days became gloomy and there was not a shred of happiness when Matilda made her wish that night. My mother and I tried our best to comply with his wishes. Five months after that conversation that night, I was no longer close to Matilda or my mother. Every day I spend time outside the house. I only go home to sleep, I don't even eat the food she makes, which I always say is very delicious and never fails. I really miss that, but for the good between me and Matilda, I try to stay strong and survive the current situation. I don't know what I should feel, should I feel happy or the opposite? Luckily, I am always supported by my mate, yes, he is Alpha Rexton. My relationship with him is still the same, even after I am no longer close to mom and Matilda, I am now closer to him. This is wrong, but other than Alpha Rexton, I don't know where else to lean. "Aarrgghh ... I finally managed to finish it." I said as I moved my body away from the work desk

The Painfully Waited Moment

Amelie's POV. "I--I, Amelie Cynthia also rejected you, Rexton Rylee as my mate." "W--what?!" Matilda's forehead frowned even more knowing this fact. Without saying anything or explaining anything to Matilda, Alpha Rexton immediately took her hand and led her into the car. The wolf in me cried, I tried to restrain myself and even tried my best to smile when the black car in front of me slowly started to move again and move away. As time passed, the black car became smaller as the distance continued to move away. They left me here alone. My body fell to the ground, crying, screaming and letting out all my emotions. My hands wiped my cheeks which were wet with tears. "This is as it should be, I shouldn't be sad like now." "You are his mate," said the wolf in me. I shook my head. "I'm his mate, but Matilda is more worthy of being Luna. I don't deserve that at all." "I don't think I can live without him." "It's impossible for me to make a relationship that has existed for years

Are You Going?

Amelie's POV. The two of us were already in the tree house in the dark of night. I can feel the spring breeze and it makes my hair move. My eyes looked far ahead, there I could see the beautiful city lights with their never-ending life. Maybe I'll go there? I haven't thought about it yet. In essence, tonight I have to leave the house, I don't know where and I don't have a destination yet. Unlike with Jackson, with Andrew I kept my distance a little and didn't tell him everything. However, Andrew is someone I just met tonight. "S--so ... your mate has rejected you and chosen to be with someone else?" I nodded my head, my eyes still looking far ahead. I didn't say anything. "You calm down, he will regret it. Trust me." Turning towards him, our eyes met for a few moments. "No, I don't want him to regret it." I shook my head and smiled even though it was stiff, but that's what I wanted. "Uhm, sorry." He said, then lowered his head. "I think you are very kind, Amelie." I chuckled

Who's Coming?

Matilda's POV. Since that night's conversation, mama no longer paid attention to Amelie. The treatment was very different from before and I felt happy about it. Not only mama, Amelie also seemed to be trying hard to obey my wishes. Rather than having breakfast or dinner together, she prefers to go to work early and come home late at night. Unlike before, mama didn't wait for her to come home either. I really felt happy about all of this, even though I felt a little uncomfortable with Amelie every time I greeted her. Like the previous morning, I just ate breakfast alone with mana. Without Amelie, mama doesn't talk much. We talk when she or I just ask something. If there are no questions between us then throughout breakfast we don't talk at all. "How's work going, Matilda?" I nodded my head at the question. "Everything went well. How about you?" "Yeah, everything is still running normally." Mama was silent for a moment. "By the way ... how is your relationship with Alpha Rexton,

This Is The Time

Matilda's POV. Hearing what Alpha Rexton had said, my eyes widened. I really didn't think that all this time my lover had actually been married to my younger sister. I really don't believe all this. Without saying anything else, Alpha Rexton took my hand and put me in the car. He also got into the car and walked away slowly from Amelie who was still standing in the same place. She stood watching Rexton's car go away, I could still clearly see her direction for a few moments before finally the distance between the car and Amelie became further and further away. "I'm sorry, Matilda," said Alpha Rexton as he pulled his car over on this quiet street. "I'm sorry ... please forgive me." For a moment I was silent. Is this also the time for me to tell the truth about Levin? Now I feel very bad in front of him. "Wh--why didn't you say so?" "I'm afraid you'll feel hurt," said Alpha Rexton, his eyes which were originally looking forward now looked into my eyes. I could see those two teary

Promise You'll Do The Same

Rexton's POV. Opening the glass door leading to the balcony, I saw the castle's spacious backyard. Down there, someone specially employed for the animals here seemed busy with their respective tasks. A bright morning that I have longed for for a long time. I can see again the grass growing green, the flowers blooming in various colors and the animals enjoying the warm spring air. Not only were the animals kept at the back of the castle, but I also enjoyed the warm spring air that I had longed for for a long time. From here, I saw Annette who was already in the flower garden with a rattan basket hanging from one of her arms. "Nothing has changed, mum is still beautiful as ever." I said softly while smiling. A moment after saying that, Annette turned her head and looked up, in the direction I was. I could see the preacher smiling and I returned it. Annette went back to picking the colorful flowers which looked very beautiful, while I chose to go into the room and clean myself. I

If You Do What She Says

Amelie's POV. I immediately went into the room and closed the door tightly. Standing behind the door, I could still hear Andrew and Don's conversation. I purposely didn't move, afraid I'd make a sound and Don would get suspicious. It's possible he would have said it to mamw or Matilda if I were here, although not likely if I said don't say anything to them. While remaining silent, my eyes looked around. An old cot appeared in the middle of the room with a frame for a mosquito net without a mosquito net covering it, to the right there was a nightstand with a night light on it and to the left a medium sized cupboard with a mirror on the cupboard door. "Oh, sorry to bother you, I was on the phone with one of my friends." "No, I just feel strange because you don't usually talk in this house. I'm also sorry for disturbing you." "I'm done talking, you didn't bother me at all. Calm down." "Yeah. It's late, we better sleep now." "You're right, tomorrow will still be a long day. Let's

Your Bag Is Very Big

Amelie's POV. Sitting at the bus stop, I looked at the street which was not yet busy with vehicles. There were only a few private cars passing by, until finally the sunlight started to rise and hit me who was sitting at the bus stop alone. One by one people started to come and wait for the bus with me. I just hope that Matilda woke up late and that she didn't come here to wait for the bus to pick her up too. My eyes looked at a dark blue private car turning onto the road towards my house. I felt like I recognized the car. A few minutes later, I saw the car come back out. The two car door windows were not closed so I could see who was inside. "Matilda? Is he Alpha Rexton? I don't think so." I immediately lowered my head. "Let's hope they doesn't see me here." I said quietly. A few moments later I saw my front darken. Several prospective passengers who were waiting with me simultaneously got up and left. I looked up and saw that a bus had stopped right in front of me. Without wai

Promise To Meet Someday

Amelie's POV. "Do they know you're leaving, Amelie?" I shook my head at Chasne's question. "They don't know it, but they know if I'm gone." "W--what do you mean?" Chasne asked, I could see her frown. My lips curl into a smile. "I left a letter on the dressing table, saying that I was leaving and they didn't need to look. Besides, I was no longer close to mama because of Matilda's wishes, getting used to being without mama for a few months made me believe that mama would be fine without me. Moreover, she also still has a biological daughter, they should live together. Let me go back to being alone like when they first found me." This long explanation made Chasne silent, I continued eating my last lunch at this cafe because after this I don't know when I will be in the same place again, maybe I will never come back here. It's not as busy as before, now only a few tables are still occupied, the rest have been abandoned by customers who were enjoying their food there. A few moment
