As I walked through the town of Nashville with Zaza and my guards, I could smell the fresh air and the natural nature of the town. I was very happy to be home. From my hotel to the conference hall was a walking distance and I loved it. I was glad to be in my town once more. A lot has not changed, both the people and the town. The people did not know me anymore and that pleased me.I could smell and feel a lot of them throwing gazes at me. Most of them had not seen a lady, dressed so richly and guarded by hefty-looking handsome men. Yes, I chose my guards very carefully as I wanted them to look intimidating and handsome. The conference door opened, and I was ushered in alone. I sat close to the exit door as I did not want to disturb the meeting. It was a meeting of the Alphas in the district. Alpha Jo had called for a meeting aimed at defeating our common enemy, the bandits. After his opening speech, I watched as he set his gaze on me. I was not sure that he recognized me. But as he wa

HOW IT ALL STARTED FIVE YEARS AGO Five years ago, the scent of oppression lingered in the air, and the howls of omega werewolves echoed with a haunting sadness. Among them, I, Ava, navigated a world defined by the harsh hierarchies that categorized us. I was determined that we would be free from the oppression of other werewolves. My parents never saw that and wanted all omega werewolves to be submissive. As an Omega werewolf living on the outskirts of Nashville Town, I had grown accustomed to the whispers of disdain and the condescending glares from those who deemed themselves superior. The Downtown, where my kind resided, was a realm of perpetual shadows, shrouded in the lingering echoes of prejudice. “Who is that?” I asked, moving towards the door. “ You know who he is, Ava, please give him what we owe,” my father said. My father is the leader of our clan and I consider him too weak to lead anything. At the age of nineteen, one would have thought I was too young, but what we a

“Marry you?” was what came out of his mouth, as if he was not expecting the last phrase of words I uttered. “Ava come on, is this not too sudden? Let's think about it.” The tension hung heavy in the air as Alpha Jo and I stood face to face, the moon casting its pale light upon our conflicting emotions. In the quiet solitude of our shared space, the weight of unspoken words pressed upon us, threatening to fracture the fragile bond that bound us together. "I don't understand, Jo," I began, my voice tinged with frustration and longing. "You say we are soulmates, that our hearts beat as one, and yet you hesitate to take the next step." “I am sorry Ava, can this wait for some time?” he asked. “No! My dear, not this time,” I replied. “Ava, my love, what do you want me to say?” He asked. “Jo dear, I thought we had a connection. I thought the moon goddess only confirmed what we thought of ourselves. I know we are in love. You are Alpha, no one is stopping you,” I said. Alpha Jo's brow f

The rustling leaves whispered secrets as Alpha Jo and Maria approached me, their figures silhouetted against the moonlit night. I was disturbed at the sight of them at first. Maria would not give me any chance to explain myself to Alpha Jo. She had such an intimidating presence, and she knew how to use it.I was surprised yet grateful as I watched Maria's eyes reflect a glimmer of remorse, her presence an unexpected balm to soothe the wounds of the past. I did not know what to make of it as Maria and Alpha Jo stood in front of me."Ava," Maria's voice trembled with sincerity, "I come to you with a heavy heart, seeking forgiveness for the pain I've caused." I don’t think she caused me any pain, I just felt she was scheming, and I still feel that though I was glad that she had pleaded for forgiveness. Her words hung in the air like a delicate melody, resonating deep within me, thawing the frost of resentment that had settled between us. With a soft smile, I nodded, welcoming her into a

Darkness enveloped me like a thick blanket, its suffocating embrace pulling me deeper into the depths of unconsciousness. Though my body lay still, and I was unable to move any part of it, my mind remained alert, tethered to the realm of the living by threads of consciousness that refused to let go.I could hardly see what was going on, but I was certain I was on Mother Earth. The sun showers all of its rays upon me, but the darkness that surrounds me can only make it cloudy.Voices drifted through the haze, distant and muffled, like echoes from a far-off shore. I strained to make sense of the words, the fragments of conversation swirling around me like leaves caught in a gust of wind."Ava is cursed," Maria's voice cut through the darkness like a blade, its sharpness sending a chill down my spine. "The wedding must be canceled. It's for the safety of the pack."I wanted to protest, to defend myself against the accusations that hung in the air like a dark cloud. But my voice was trapp
