Lahat ng Kabanata ng Ex-Lover's Regret: Kabanata 321 - Kabanata 330

Nicole's POVI was surprised by what Richard said. Old grandma. He could call only one person when it came to Chris."Give your phone to Chris, Richard," I said to him, trying to stay calm even though my pounding heart wouldn't let me.My son was like a world unto himself. He was my life since birth; he was the only thing I depended on to survive, even when the hitmen were chasing me until I had to be involved in an accident and was rescued by my father. If something happened to him because I wasn't by his side, I wasn't sure if I could live as usual or leave him in someone else's hands again.I was feeling very emotional right now. I had entrusted that man to have a meeting with my son, but right now, he was meeting that man's mother, with whom I had no good history. The man's voice was slightly audible on the phone, so I finally spoke. "Why did you let your mom meet with my son, Chris?""My mom came in unexpectedly. I kicked her out."I didn't immediately believe his words. The man

Nicole's POVI exhaled slowly. I was at the bookstore my son wanted, following in his footsteps and Chris's, who seemed to have planned this first. The man looked happy, as did Richard, who walked ahead of us. He had his eye on a few books he wanted to buy and picked up more than I expected. That kid doesn't leave anything to chance, especially when it comes to something he loves besides robots and books. After starting his formal lessons, the boy grew thirsty for knowledge that neither his private teachers nor our family members taught him. He looked up everything he wanted on the Internet, but if that wasn't enough, the boy would jot down some book titles so he could buy them later. He looked at me after putting another book that the man had brought for him into the basket. "Mom! You should get some books too. Don't you love books as much as I do? It's been a while since you bought a book."I gave my son a faint smile. His words were true, but I didn't really want to linger here. My

Chris's POVBefore this, I thought about my conversation with the little boy on the drive. This was his first question after Nicole took distance from my car, and he didn't sound restrained at all."Dad, don't you think about my mom?"I felt like I didn't understand. If the question was like that, I would always think about Nicole. She was the only woman I thought about until now and had occupied the only space in my heart forever. In all the years that I have met, there has never been a woman as beautiful and strong as her. I was sure she was the only woman who could live with me until our age.The boy realized my difficulty in answering and asked again. "You still like my mom, right?" He saw me nod. "Don't you want to reveal it to Mom?"I paused, thinking about his question, and then shook my head."Revealing it is a difficult thing." I looked at the boy, remembering his attitude was similar to his mother's. "You also know that I've expressed it many times after we met back then, bu

Chris' POVWe sat close together in an available meeting room that had been agreed upon before the meeting day. We were the only ones who had arrived in this room, as it was still a few hours before the actual gathering time so I opened the conversation first."You are also involved in this project, madam?"She nodded. "Yes, I like projects like this, especially with Mr. Grant. I don't feel too lonely."I smiled, replying to her words that were just casual pleasantries. I knew that this old woman next to me had a lot of connections with her position as the head of the socialites in Mekana City. She was not someone to be underestimated, and it would be difficult to make an enemy. Many other businessmen also know this, especially if they do not want any obstacles in their lives or ongoing business."How is your relationship with Miss Nicole, Mr. Grant?" She asked again, showing a slightly different look in her eyes than before.I still remember the walk a few days ago and the other walk

Nicole's POV"Doesn't mom like me being here?"My son asked, seemingly lowering both ends of his lips to look cute in my eyes, even though it clearly showed his annoyance at my words which were not directed at him at all, but he didn't know.I was in too much of a hurry to speak when I hadn't seen who I was dealing with.I stood up and quickly approached him, who was still holding the door handle and seemed reluctant to walk in. "I'm sorry, Richard. I thought you were my secretary...."The boy exhaled, looking still upset, but eventually accepted my hand and closed the door to my room behind him. I smiled a little, looking at him, who sighed again and finally returned my smile."Alright, Mom."We chatted. I had obviously left the work that I had intended to do today just before lunch. Still, I was more concerned about my son, who had deliberately come to my office unannounced. He was already sitting on the sofa, and I followed him. "Did you come alone to Mom's office?" I asked. He sho
