StefanI have no idea how long I have been in this room with her, but I’m not willing to take my hands off her, as I feel like as soon as I do, she is gone again. So I don’t. I stay in the bed with her body wrapped around mine, accepting that this might just be the only way to keep her here and Wayne away from her until the warlock arrives. While praying that our mating brings back the bond. Her small moans of pleasure only seem to heighten every sensation and pull me in deeper. The happiness doesn’t last long as I hear shouting and commotion, and I know that Wayne can’t get past Harold. He’s not strong enough to overtake him.I hear the door smashing, followed by howl. My eyes fly around the room, and I see Thorin on the floor. Jumping from the bed, I grab my clothes, my eyes going to the Earl, his body covered in blood.Harlyn rushes to Thorin. Her eyes glow, and I hear a growl erupt from within her. My body moves back just as she shifts and launches herself at the Earl.I watch as

WayneI watch as Harlyn sits with the pups. Everything went a mess. We weren’t meant to stay any longer than needed.“Are you okay, my love?” I look at her, feeling uneasy.“Perfect.” She smiles brightly at me.“Okay, I’m going to go see Ethan and check how things were while we were away.” Smiling, I walk out and head to the training ground; Ethan sees me and walks towards me.“So, how did it go?” He asks.“Wait until we get somewhere quiet.” I walk through the building and into the office, closing the door. I look at him.“You were going to test and see if it was possible. Is it possible?” He looks at me, waiting.“It is, providing we have enough men to keep the soldiers off the pups. If too many target one, then they are able to immobilise them, then we’re dead within seconds.” That is a risk.“Something happened? Before, you were confident nothing could go wrong.” He looks at me, waiting.“The magic isn’t working as strongly as it was meant to with Harlyn and King Stefan.” It’s wea

StefanWe sit and consider it. Consider why Harlyn would get the rarest wolf, the one never seen before.“The stories say the blue wolf is given as a blessing by the Moon Goddess to one individual who has fought battles many others would succumb to,” Harold explains. “The person blessed with the blue wolf is meant to have overcome hurdles like no other and proven themselves worthy of it. Typically in the stories, the Moon Goddess tests certain werewolves by not blessing them with a wolf straight away. If one proves worthy enough, they are blessed with the blue wolf, otherwise, they are given a normal one.”I don’t know enough about it to comment. It was a phantom, a story, something we would joke about as kids. Who has ever seen a blue wolf?Well, I have now. It was unlike any wolf before. Her fur was like the night sky, a deep blue, but there were small white spots, almost like light. Making it look like there were stars on her.“Harlyn has certainly faced a lot, and throughout it al

HarlynThings have been weird since we returned. I’m not sure why. I just feel like I’m missing something. Wayne’s family looks at me differently now.Or maybe they had always looked at me in that way, but I didn’t notice it before. Maybe he told them about Stefan, so now they hate me for hurting their brother? All I know is things have been weird since we got back yesterday.“Are you ready?” Wayne stands by the door, looking at me. I’m not sure. I still feel uneasy about everything. “You need to do this, Harlyn. You need to practice shifting so you can do it easily and yourself, not just when you’re having intense feelings.”I know he is right, but everything feels weird. I’m not used to having a wolf. “I still haven’t heard it.” I look towards him.“It may take time. Stop thinking about that. You should be happy you have your wolf—not just any wolf, but the rarest of them all. You need to test your strength, speed, and such.”“Okay, what about the pups?” I don’t want to leave them a

StefanStepping off the ship, I’m instantly met by guards refusing to let me pass. Samuel moves and walks ahead of me.“We’re here to see my sister, Harlyn,” Samuel says, his eyes looking at the guards. “We’re not here for trouble. She had just returned from my wedding, but she left quickly, not giving me a chance to thank her or explain something.” Samuel stands waiting. The guards refuse to move, however, and we wait for Wayne or Harlyn to appear. I wait and soon see Wayne approaching.“Your Majesty,” Volkaros says, and I turn to look at him. “This won’t be quick, and I will need hours, maybe even a day.”What? I stare at him. There is no way Wayne will let us sleep here. I had thought to myself that anything could change or happen, and it just has. Now we need to find a way to stay here. Great.“What can I do for you?” Wayne looks at me, and I see the pups behind him. My eyes look around. Where is Harlyn? She would be here, where is she?“I came to see how Thorin is and to speak to
