“What the fuck!” Anna yelled. Her eyes widened in disbelief with her mouth ajar. She just finished preparing Cohen’s meal and had already set the table before she walked to the sitting room and saw the news Charlotte was watching. Charlotte turned her neck to glance back at her. “What’s the matter?” She asked with a concerned tone. Anna slowly raised her hand and pointed her finger at the television, shaking in bewilderment. “The news?” She said, her voice stammering in fear. “Chairman Hewitt has been arrested.” Charlotte nodded. “Yes, is there anything wrong with it?” She asked, unclear. “Why are you like this? Don’t you like that?” “But ma…” Anna wanted to talk, but the fear rotting in her mind at the moment held her back. “Anna, don’t worry. I still hate Patricia and I can never support her for any reason,” Charlotte said in a persuading tone. She thought Anna was like that because she was in support of chairman Hewitt's arrest. “I am just happy they found the culprit,” she ex

“Can I go in to see him now?” Bastian raised a question, standing on his feet to walk closer to Romeo, who was just coming out of the interrogatory room. Romeo stopped walking and waited for Bastian to arrive in his front. “Bastian.” He called. “Thank you, Romeo.” Bastian showed gratitude. “You’re welcome. Besides, I am just doing my job. I am through with him. You can now see him.” Bastian and Romeo shook hands, and Bastian walked into the corner that led into the interrogatory room. The guy at the entrance opened the door for Bastian and he entered. Immediately, as Bastian stepped in, Chairman Hewitt cracked up. “Why are you here?” He threw a question. “You led me here already, do you come to mock me?” Bastian walked closer. He curtsied his head and sat down. Chairman Hewitt snickered. “You are even showing me respect?” He murmured. Bastian drew the chair closer and sat down. “Good day, sir,” he greeted, inquiring, “how have you been?” “Trust your day has been good?” He as

Bastian had Ailee go over to Maximo company to help chairman Hewitt set everything since Esther wasn’t around. Ailee walked into chairman Hewitt’s office and curtsied her head. “Everything is ready, sir,” she reported. “The reporters are here. You can come out now.” Chairman Hewitt exhaled deeply. Bastian has bailed him out of the cell, but his mind still wasn't at rest. A part of his mind encouraged him to believe in Bastian and did as he suggested, but he couldn’t take the negative thought out of his mind. ‘What if Bastian just wants to use me?’ ‘What will happen next?’ ‘Should I believe Bastian and Cohen or should I just mention Anna’s name?’ His mind paved way to lots of questions since he had left the prosecutor's custody and he was yet to find an answer. “Can you hear me, sir?” Ailee inquired, observing chairman Hewitt’s face. He expected him to say a word or stand up already, but he didn’t react. Chairman Hewitt raised his gaze, a shocked tone escaping his mouth. “Uhn!”

Chairman Hewitt entered his office, and met Bastian already waiting for him. Bastian stood on his feet and curtsied his head. “Sir.” He said, unable to add another word. Chairman Hewitt cracked up. He walked closer and sat on the other sofa, facing Bastian. “Bastian,” he called. Bastian sat down. He sighed and cast his face downward. “I told Romeo to close the case. You won’t return to the station again.” He proclaimed. Chairman Hewitt tightened his lips, nodding, “thank you, Bastian.” Bastian furrowed his face, chuckling, “you don’t need to thank me. This is a close deal. I promised to get you out if you keep Anna’s involvement a secret.” “I know, but I still want to thank you. What can I do if you didn’t fulfill your promise?” Chairman Hewitt expressed. “You can do a lot. It’s so easy for you to reveal the secret.” Bastian pointed out. “Yes, it is. But I will not. Never.” Chairman Hewitt poured out. “You won’t?” Bastian let out in an amazed. “Why? I mean, why won’t you revea

Anna walked into the room. She closed the door behind her and relaxed her back on it, watching Cohen, who was still sleeping. Seeing the transparent of a peaceful smile on Cohen’s closed eyes, a smile slowly summed up on her face. “This is good,” she whispered. It has been a long time since Cohen last slept in that manner; it was either he woke up in shock or got up early with rage. “I hope you will accept your fate. I wish you can forget Patricia and let us live a peaceful life we have always lived before Patricia shows up,” she said in silent. She discharged a heavy breath and walked closer to the bed at a slow pace. “Cohen,” she called in a low voice, with three steps remaining before she arrived at the bed. “Cohen,” she called again, taking the last step. She arrived beside the bed and stared at his face, and seeing he was still happy in his dream, she couldn’t help but let a bright smile fill her lips. “I wonder if the dream is about me or her,” she murmured. “Al
