I stood in front of the mirror, watching my reflection. It was beautiful. Florian was right about this dress. It made my skin color pop, and the cute little bow that Florian had put in my hair... made it all so perfect.I sighed and gave a small twirl. It was perfect. Satisfied with what I was seeing, I made it out of the walk-in closet. Florian was standing by the bed, his back resting on the wall, his eyes focused on the floor. He was wearing an all-black ensemble, his hair pushed back in silky, seemingly wet strands, his right pinky and thumb adorned with silver rings, and his left hand carrying a black leather watch.I felt my breath hitch in my throat as I took him in. He was even more beautiful, and I could remember all the insecurities that had pushed me to believe that he would never be mine. Now we are here, the entire world left behind, and it felt like all of that time that we had lost was slowly being recovered."Florian."He looked up, and his eyes immediately lightened u

The rest of the car ride to the airport was tense and silent, and I found myself glancing at Florian. He was back to blank yet again, his eyes solemn and sleepy, his grip on the steering wheel light.I swallowed hard as I turned away from him towards the scenery in front of me, a sigh escaping my lips.My father was now dead. We are heading to Macau. I know Florian will not afford my mother and brother the same grace he afforded my father, of not being the one to kill him with his own hands.I sighed again, just as we reached the airport. Florian grabbed his phone and made a call, and the sound of the ringing reverberated through the silent car. "We are here," he said simply. He parked the car and got out, and I turned to open the door when he came around to me, his eyes thin.He opened the door and gave me his hand, and I stopped, looking up at him.He wasn't looking at me, and when he did, his eyes were blank, far from the ones that I had gotten so accustomed to. Slowly, I gave hi

The next few hours were a blur of scattered emotions, clothes, caresses, kisses, and a shower that was less water and more of everything else. I lay in bed, my hair slightly damp, my eyes focused on the door to the bathroom where Florian was.My heart skipped a small beat as the door knob opened, and he walked out, his phone in his hand. I knew he had been taking a call in there, and I appreciated that despite me knowing how this would end, he was still so keen on protecting my feelings while he prepared for the eventual end.His hair was damp and pulled back to the nape of his neck, his eyes slightly thin as he walked to the dresser. He was wearing nothing but a towel dangerously low on his waist, his body on show like he was some exhibition at an art gallery.I watched every step like he was doing a strip tease for me, my heart in my throat like I had never seen it before. Hell, like I hadn't seen all of him just moments ago.He grabbed a small towel and turned to me, then gave a sm

I sat alone in bed as Florian took another shower in preparation for our dinner plans. I believed he simply did not want to have to confront me right now, and to be honest, it was for the best. I would be lying if I said I did not need a bit of time to recover from the scare. The sound of the shower suddenly stopped, and he slowly walked out, wearing a towel loosely around his waist, his hair falling in front of his face and dripping water. It was crazy to think that someone who looked like a literal dream could have such vivid, real monsters."Hey," I said, sitting up on the bed, my eyes watching him. He turned to me, and a small smile lit up his features. I stretched my hand out in an attempt to reach out to him, my eyes holding his. He took me in for a long moment, his hesitation evident, before he finally walked to me. I watched as his body lowered to me, and he let me embrace him hard, hoping to God and the heavens that he would feel the fix I hoped to give him."Is this you

My lips parted as I saw fear grip my mother. Her eyes widened, and she turned to me. I was obviously her very last hope. Lord only knows what had happened to Ronan down there.I started to work to free myself, and she made her way to me, her eye bloodshot."Tell him to stop!" Her voice was a loud shriek now, and I honestly started too fear for my life too."Why?" I asked, despite the turbulence in my mind. "Ronan did all of those dirty things to Florian's cousin! Why in hell's name would I tell him to stop?"She slapped my cheek hard, causing my face to swerve to the right, blood dripping from a cut on my lip."I will fucking kill you!"She pushed me hard, and I hit the floor, my head hitting the ground. I gave a small yelp as everything blurred in front of me, and my vision turned hazy. I closed my eyes in an attempt to pull myself together, but it wasn't working.A curse left my lips, and I continued to struggle against the ropes, working my hardest to free my hands.I looked up, a
