Debbie||Trying to control myself as I watched Ivan and his grandmother dot on the bitch was proving unattainable. My heart was tearing with anger and they were all oblivious to it.They both couldn't even notice that all I wanted to do was to pour her bowl of foul tasting soup on her face. And when Nan had apologized for Ivan's behavior, I didn't even care if it was supposed to be to me or that bitch.I just threw all of my resentment to Angel. I got a strong itch to let her know that I knew what and who he was long before she even knew him.I wanted to follow him to work. I did not want to spend my entire day with these two women neither did I want to be at the beck and call of the old woman.I was starting to wonder if my coming to the house was futile and if I had been better off back at work with Ivan there."Honey, why are you not at work? You seem to have missed work yesterday and today. Is everything alright?" The old woman asked the bitch— Angel. The sound of her voice pullin

Debbie||The taxi was already waiting for me outside the house and I hopped into it."Divine care hospital," I said to the driver and we zoomed off.Everything I had found out today made the puzzle I had been trying to figure out to gain some more pieces. Now I just needed a few more pieces to be able to fit the puzzle together and the full picture would unfold and that was what I was going to do.I had told the old woman that I had to go and get medication for her at the hospital and I had left without Tania's knowledge. I just wanted to confirm something that had been gnawing at the back of my mind ever since I had set my eyes on Tania.I pushed it aside until she had mentioned that she had been feeling sick because she had not fully recuperated. And then, before I found out that she was saying with Ivan, I had thought she had been staying with his brother since I knew that he stayed alone. And it was for all these reasons that I was going back to the hospital. About three months

Ivan||"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be back at the house?" I barked at Debbie as she walked through the door to my office. It was as though I had summoned her just by thinking about her when she walked in.Without saying a word to me, she walked over with a mischievous smile on her face and dumped a file on the pile of books on my desk.I ignored the file she had dropped, much more interested in the smile on her face.I knew that smile. And I knew Debbie so well as to know that smile meant she was up to something. "What's in the file." I growled, already fed up with whatever it was she was up to."Your precious little secret," she said.I squinted my eyes at her words, not knowing what to make of them as I played with the pen in my hand."Are you sure you don't want to open up and see it? Or are you scared of the truth haunting you?" She asked, leaning over my desk."You better tell me what this is all about or else–" I said but she cut me off, not letting me finish."Tsk

Tania||"Why are you sitting here by yourself?" I asked Nana as I approached her sitting on a rocking chair in the garden. She was sitting right in front of the patch of land where she had cultivated some crops. It was her little pet project and she had spent almost her entire days on this patch on land, her knees on the dirt, digging and planting."Is that nurse not supposed to be here with you? Is that not what we are paying her to do?" I spat distastefully as I spoke about Debbie."Ah... it's fine. I'm okay by myself." Nana said weakly. She was gradually becoming a shadow of herself and it hurt to see her this way."She said she had to go to the hospital to get me some medication. She'll be back soon." Nana added."Medication? For you?" I asked as I sat on the bench next to Nana."That is weird. I thought we already bought all the drugs the doctor administered for you," I said, thinking hard."Maybe, I needed some more." Nana said but my mind was elsewhere.Ever since Debbie's beha

Tania||Slowly, I turned around to face him."Expose what secret?" My voice came out as a whisper, barely carrying across the room to where he sat with his head down, avoiding my eyes.I took a couple of steps forward towards him before stopping. Clearing my throat, I asked again; "Expose what secret Ivan?" "The entire thing. From the very beginning." He said, still avoiding my eyes."Look at me Ivan." I commanded and he reluctantly rose his head up to look at me. "How did she find out what she intends to expose?""That I don't know.""That is not an answer Ivan," I said angrily."See Tania, all I know is that she came into my office earlier and dropped a file on my desk. It had evidence of what happened; the death certificate, the accident report, the reconstruction, everything!" He spoke agitatedly."I did not ask her how she had found out as that was the least of my worries at the time." He added.I took further steps, moving closer to where he was. "What does she want?" I asked.
