OWEN'S POVShe linked her arms with mine and I just couldn't stay mad at her for a second. She looked so happy and innocent beside me and I knew deep within me that divorcing her would be a very hard decision to make. I just couldn't help but fall in love with her. I spotted the rare gem on her neck and instantly knew that father got it for her. She deserved more than this anyway, and I'll definitely get her something more priceless. As we walked past my employees, we were welcomed with looks of surprise and shock. Not that I can blame them, I never imagined I'd have a lady hold my hand like this either. She noticed and instead of pulling her hand away, she rested her head on my arm as she smiled sweetly and I felt my heart flip multiple times. She would definitely be the death of me. “So, we're getting married officially right?” She asked and I nodded. “Are there gonna be wedding rings? Because these ones on our fingers are engagement rings and not proper wedding rings right?” She

CHARLOTTE'S POV“I don't know how it happened Charlotte… but I'm madly in love with you. I guess you were right after all, you have taken over my heart and now I can't even breathe when you're not near. I love you Charlotte. Will you marry me Charlotte? For real this time, no contracts or proposals, just you and me. Will you?” Owen said as he got on his knees and opened a ring box containing a ring with the exact same gem on my necklace!“Owen- what are you talking about? The contract clearly stated that we wouldn't fall in love with each other. Now you're asking me to marry you? We haven't even spent a month together! A-and I don't love you the same way Owen. I'm sorry…” I said and my heart broke at his hurt expression as he stood up and handed me the box.“Whenever you're ready, or whenever you fall in love with me, I'll place that ring on your finger.” He smiled sadly as he walked away and I stared at the ring box in my hand. What just happened?I jolted awake as I stared at the ce

CHARLOTTE'S POVFor some reason unknown to me, I was giddy with excitement for the upcoming date. I smiled to myself when I thought of how cute he looked when he was embarrassed.“Wait a minute, did he actually plan on having a date in McDonald's?” I soliloquized as I glanced through my closet, still amused by his nervous expression. He had left me in his room in embarrassment and had gone to only God knows where. I moved dress after dress, searching for the one perfect for a date.Rose would have done a great job helping me with this. I sighed sadly as I sat on the bed, my eyes drifting to my phone. I grabbed it and decided to call her. I missed her so much.I searched for her name on my phone but couldn't find it. That's strange. I didn't delete it even though I was mad at her.I knew her number by heart so I typed it out on my phone and I stared at the screen in confusion. Blocked? I'd never block my best friend.Did I block her by accident? Is that what she meant when she said she

CHARLOTTE'S POVMy heart dropped when I heard Catherine's voice. When did she get in here? “Catherine! You're here.” I smiled as I stood up immediately and took her hand, pulling her with me to the bed. She looked at me, confusion still etched on her face as she sat on the bed and I cleared my throat to ease the tension in the room. “I'll ask again. Why am I being suspected?” She questioned, her eyes fixed on Roselia and I could almost use a knife to slice through the tension in the room right now. “It's just a misunderstanding-”“I'm Roselia. Charlotte's best friend.” Rose interrupted my words as she folded her hands and stared at her with a grumpy expression. “You're suspected of trying to take my best friend away from me. Are you guilty or not?” She grumbled like a child as she huffed and looked away. I stared at Rose in shock, my mind blown at her extreme acting skills. What is this? Catherine looked confused and then her expression changed into that of realization as a sma

CHARLOTTE'S POVI gulped down the glass of water in my hand as I patted my chest gently. Kids? Did I hear him wrongly or something?Owen cleared his throat as he stared at his food blankly. I started to eat slowly, my mind racing at the thought of actually having kids with Owen.Stop thinking about that, silly! You and Owen aren't having kids. It was stated clearly in the contract. You're overthinking everything.“Father, we're taking things one step at a time. It wouldn't be ideal to just rush things like that. Charlotte and I are going on a date this evening.” He stated, his voice calm and gentle.Mr Walker seemed to be surprised as he stared at Owen in awe. I doubt he's ever heard Owen speak like this before. Man, I'm doing an amazing job on this man.“A date, you say. That sounds beautiful. I hope you've made arrangements.” He chirped in and I smiled at the memory of the dress in my room.“Yes he did. He booked a reservation at The Whitney and also got me a beautiful dress. Isn't
