Chapter Forty OneMrs. Ann walked into the CEO’s office the next day, her posture confident but respectful. She knocked softly before entering, catching his attention as he looked up from a stack of paperwork."Good morning, sir," she greeted politely, her voice steady. The CEO glanced up with a nod, a faint smile on his face. "Good morning, Mrs. Ann. Thank you for not disappointing us yesterday. You handled everything well."She smiled, feeling a bit of relief. "Thank you, sir. I just wanted to make sure everything went smoothly."The CEO leaned back in his chair, studying her with a thoughtful expression. "You’ve proven to be a valuable asset to this company. It’s not easy to find such dedication these days."Mrs. Ann nodded, appreciating the compliment but still sensing there was more he wanted to say. "I’m just doing my best for the company, sir.""I can see that," Thompson replied.“I want to see you Mr. Thompson, I actually think it's important to discuss this with you, though I

"Why do people find sexting interesting?" I typed in, to my utter amazement, his suggestion was widely practiced. Some of the examples of words used were explicit too.I minimized my search engine and resurfaced our chat, to my amusement, Elvis had dropped tons of messages within few minutes. "If you don't like to we won't" "hello" "are you there?" "sorry I suggested that" "hi Marianne." I had been through too much with Blake, I put it to mind to be wise, but my emotions were getting the best of me.I smiled inwardly and texted back "Relax loverboy, I am in, we can do that" I responded enthusiastically despite, the fact that I felt weird about it. Deep down I didn't feel okay with it, but I decided to ignore how I felt about it. "Really?" Elvis responded immediately, sending me happy emojis, "Guide me on master" I texted teasingly.Elvis took the clue and melted our harmless chat into something erotic, although a part of me wasn't comfortable at first but over few minutes my responses

We danced the night away, sipping on our glasses of tequila. In the following seconds we were now drunk, and that was the last I could remember.I and this stranger, soaked in the intoxicating effects of the tequila we had, made our way for the next available sofa, falling vigorously onto the sofa.I opened my eyes to find myself in the arms of this stranger, it didn't matter that much. I had a swell time and he did too, to us, that was all that mattered. In a few minutes my eyes were cleared of all the alcohol that clouded my sense of recognition. It suddenly dawned on me that I knew the man in question. As I sat there, hoping he'd not recognize me, ravaging thoughts bombarded my head. I sneaked out through the closest exit I could find. It was one of the boss's brothers, at one of the companies Anna had suggested I apply for a job.As this reality slowly dawned on me, chills ran down my spine. I was able to make my way home safely, but my heart wasn't at rest. I still had to make m

"There's no point in knowing my name." The voice on the other side of the call said. "Who the heck are you?" I asked, my voice towering a bit."My name is not important here." The voice said, "Then what is? Get it over with, I don't have all day!" I exclaimed.A call came through from Aaron, while I was still on this call with the stranger. I didn't hesitate to cut the stranger's call."Aaron. Any updates?" I said calmly, clearing my throat. "Not quite exactly, Boss. Did you get a call from a number?" Aaron asked."Don't be an asshole, Aaron. Strangers call me everytime." I said, "okay, my bad, Boss" Aaron said, repeating the question."Well, I don't quite know how exactly to answer that and be correct. I did get a call from unknown numbers."But I was on the call with one of them when your own call came in. I thought that was out of line and strange." I said."I think someone is on his way to ambush you. And he's not the only one. He is coming in the company of his men and I tell you

The calls of the sirens were getting closer, and I knew it was time to leave. I stuffed the note into my pocket and in a mad dash out of there, diving into the car. The tires screeched as I tore out of the driveway, leaving the law enforcement miles behind. With my head spinning, I tried to make a decision. I couldn't even run to the police; they'd just use me as a convenient way of getting to my dad. My father told me loudly and often that I was alone. My only option was to pray and rely on my yogi training. Gina was in danger of being harmed by the armed men, and she might be killed trying to right this situation. Right the wrongs, at any price. The clutches of the car growled as I stomped on it, whipping through the narrow lanes of the road. It was my night, and I would seize the opportunity. I controlled this part of the city through various connections I had with many people who owed me favors. I would bring in every single one of them to assist with this search. I had to!
