Annabel's POV"Let me go!" I screamed as I thrashed around on the hospital bed, my hands and feet were bound. I looked around as sweat poured down my face. There were doctors and nurses cladded in white and it seemed that they were preparing for a surgery."Who the hell are you?!" I screamed my lungs out in fright, "Why am I here?! Fucking let me go!"But none of them paid attention to me. They were focused on setting the surgical instruments. My breath became ragged and heavy. The last thing I remembered was being alone with Michelle in the room. I have no idea how I appeared on this hospital bed.My gaze fell outside while I screamed for help and my eyes widened when I recognized the faces of my father-in-law and mother-in-law. Hope flushed inside my heart."Mom! Dad! Please get me out of here!" I screamed. However, Mr Davis and his wife Vivian scoffed and walked into the hospital room so casually. They smiled down at me but it wasn't the usual kind of smile. It was one full of cont

Annabel's POVI woke up the next day feeling weak and drained. I had lost a lot of blood when I pulled the IV needle and the pain in my heart was too much for me to bear. I still can't believe that I'd lost both my mother and my child.Even though she is not my biological mother, Mrs King took me into her home and raised me with the love and care that a mother would give her child. I owe her my life. I owe her everything and that's why it hurts even more."You're awake," Scott said as he lowered himself and came in for a kiss but I looked away. He straightened up and said, "Do you feel okay? Do you want me to call the doctor?"I looked at him with tears shimmering in my eyes, "Why won't you believe me? Have I ever lied to you, Scott?""Annabel please!" he moved away from me, "It's already hard for me to cope with the death of our child. Stop making this more difficult. Dad has nothing to do with all this. Why are accusing him?"I stood up from the bed and even though my legs wobbled,

Annabel's POV"What?" my lips hanged open, "You can't be serious, Scott!""I am." he confirmed his words, adding, "My wife cannot take my father to court and I would not lift a finger.""Don't make me choose between you and our daughter! I am doing this for her!" I gritted my teeth as tears threatened to fall."No, I think you've lost your mind and since you've refused to come to your senses let's see whether you'll lose me as well." he said and walked out of the dinner table with Michelle following behind him.Nathan got up and left as well, leaving I and Mr Davis and Vivian who chuckled softly."Haven't you done enough, Annabel?" she grinned "You're starting to look mentally ill.""I won't stop until I have exposed you both." I retorted.Mr Davis rose from his chair and stopped in front of me."You're done grieving your mother and daughter so quick?" he asked as he lit a cigarette, "Stop this now, Annabel.""No, you started this." I paused and added, "I'll end it."Mr Davis closed t

Scott's POVThe doctors did not let me through the hospital room no matter how much I pleaded. I remained outside, pacing and panicking. I'd overreacted and I cursed myself for that. I turned and found my dad and stepmom walking towards me. Before they could get to me, I walked hastily towards my dad, grabbed his collar and hit him hard against the wall."Are you happy now?!" I shouted as I gritted my teeth, "How do you feel making me do all of this, you bastard?!" "Stop it, Scott!" cried Vivian, "He's your father!"Calling this inhumane and selfish man my father only aggravated the anger I felt in my heart. I tightened my grip on his collar."I curse the day you became my father!" I said to his face but this man simply laughed and stared at me like all that anger meant nothing. He said, "Do you not want to see your daughter and your dear Annabel again?"Upon hearing that, I let go off his collar as much as I hated to."Good boy," he nodded while grinning, "So shove all that anger d

Annabel's POV"That was quick!" said Mr Davis as he stopped few meters away from where I stood, he smirked, "You should use this opportunity to help yourself to the rehab center, Annabel."I chuckled despite myself, "That is where you will be in the future, Mr Davis. In fact if you ask me, the likes of you should rot in hell instead of a rehab center."He waved his hand in the air with a grin, "I have more important things to do than stand here and argue with a divorcee."He turned around with Vivian following behind like a puppet. He said, "C'mon Scott, let's go get you ready."I wondered, ready for what?My gaze fell on Scott as he followed behind. Suddenly, he stopped and looked back just in time to see the tears forming in my eyes.I was not ashamed of it. I wasn't also willing to hide it. I wanted him to see how much he's hurting me and remember this look when I eventually get my revenge.A part of me hoped he would apologize and tell me once again how much he adores me. Howeve
