Kiara POV “So you don't seem to be from around here, seeing I have never seen you before, and I do know everyone who is important in London,” Sophie stated with a smirk and I could tell she definitely was trying to piss off Grace.“Well you see, I have been here in London since birth, but my father believes that a beauty such as myself should not been seen so very frequently by the outside world, so I don't get to become to common in their eyes as many ladies are,” Grace responded back with her very fake smile still plastered right on her face.Did she just call Sophie common? Okay, now I'm getting pissed off, does she even know who she is speaking to?My sister Sophie might seem very calm and innocent, but she is known as one of the timeless beauties in all of London, she literally has suitors coming every day to court her.Sophie suddenly let out a very seemingly dangerous chuckle as she stared right at Grace as though she were looking at a peasant who knew nothing.“ Well, you see

Kiara POV I walked around the hall searching for my father and eldest sister, and finally, I saw them, but they were with someone. And this person is certainly the last person I thought would actually even have any business whatsoever with the blade, not less my Father himself.Mason Darkwood, the outer head of the Darkwood snakes. Now, just why exactly is this snake talking and laughing with my family, huh?I walked right towards them with a smile on my face, as I tried to seem unfaced by the scene in front of me.“A lovely evening to you father,” I greeted with a smile as I went forward to hug him.“Good evening to my dear,” he responded with a very mischievous yet warm smile, I let go of my arms around him.I could tell everything about his plan was already set from that smile of his, and he was just waiting for me.So that's why he wanted to meet me so soon.“Well don't you look lovely dear little sister, your husband certainly has quite a taste I see,” Diane cut right in with tha

Xander POV The whispers grew louder in the silence as everyone instantly became cautious of their surroundings as the light suddenly went out.Only one thought filled my head at that moment.Kiara, My wife.“Daniel the lights!” I voiced out as the lights instantly came right back on, thank goodness I actually prepared for such a situation.Knowing just how many enemies I have right now, I certainly knew one if not all would certainly pull some sort of stunt. My eyes wandered around searching for Kiara right as the lights came back on as the music continued. But she wasn't anywhere in the halls, I'm sure she was certainly dancing with silver and Mrs. Beatrice.Oh, shit! Don't tell me she was kidnapped?“Everyone Freeze!” I commanded, my tone blunt and cold as everyone stood to stare at me.“Silver, did you see my wife?” I asked, my heart tightening with each moment that passed.“Sir, I think she was —”“Search everywhere now!”My voice resounded through the hall as everywhere darkwood

Kiara POV The drive back to the hall was silent, our breath sounding right was the wind blew through, I could feel his slight stares at me, but I chose to avoid them. I just can't face him right now without my eyes of hate, and I need him to believe I'm calm for now.Still, the only thought that ran through my head was how much of a fool I was for thinking the man I called my husband, the mortal enemy to my family, was actually in love with me.I gazed right at the starry sky as the wind blew right through my hair, honestly, this certainly was not the way the night was meant to go.I was just to get Diane's file, create an opportunity for Grace to kill Mr Grey, and then get back there. But now I found out that my husband actually knew I was a spy from the very beginning and still let me into his home, well now I see why most of my mission didn't turn out well, he basically b was playing around with me all through. And just what the hell are those strange photos of me with people I ha

Kiara POV After a few minutes of having that fake picture perfect smile on my face as I walked around with Xander. It was finally time for his speech, and then we both walked to the stage, just thankful I wasn't the one who needed to say too much. Now I'm just really curious about what he would say, especially with this whole Mr Grey's death situation on the Darkwood statue.I mean they were all acting calm and cool after the entire incident, but I know better than to trust these crazy people because certainly beneath those calm smiley faces right down, are sharp daggers ready to attack at any slight chance. As his wife, I was the one meant to introduce him up to the stage and as much as I didn't want to I just had to, and I really practiced for this since I was excited about it before. He finally let go of my hand and walked to the mic.“Well hello everyone, I hope you all are having a great time and enjoying this ball, now then it's just about to be midnight, so I'm sure you all
