Jake's POV I technically sprinted to the door, pressing my sides against it. Clenching my jaw tightly, I listened to her light knocks. “Hey, um, I came to give you these.” She said in a small voice. Fighting the urge to roar at her and tell her to get lost, I slackened my weight against the door, running my fingers through my hair in exasperation. “Hello? Are you there?” Knocking much harder, she asked at the top of her voice, and I reluctantly twisted the doorknob open. Settling with the fact that Mom's morning lecture on how pushing people away will only worsen my depression would be inevitable if I send Zoey away, I had to let her in. Putting up with this little witch was much better. “Come in.” I invited her, moving away from the door. Facing away from her the moment I heard the door squeak open, she gently closed it behind her. Fragile little Zoey, ever so gentle. She hadn't changed one bit, but I have. In many ways. “Hey, um… Good morning. I thought you

Zoey's POV “Honey, is Zoey still in there with you?!” Jake's mom asked, accompanied by a few more knocks, and we leapt apart, panting. I quickly crouched to pick up my panties, but he snatched them before me, and I drew my brow together in disbelief. “What— “Shhh.” He cut me off, pressing a finger to his lips as he pulled me behind him. I had to suppress myself from gnawing at his guts for the unexplainable manner in which he just seized my private property. This could be termed a personal property violation, yeah? If that was even a thing. “Jake?” His mom called again. My heartbeat skipped as I hurried behind him obediently. “Yea—no—I mean no. She left through the back a few minutes ago.” He almost stammered. My eyes widened in mortification as I watched him pocket my one and only red lingerie. My mom thought lingerie and thongs were provocative and preferred I wear briefs instead, so I secretly bought one color of each. And there goes my one color into his

Zoey's POV By morning I woke up with a throbbing headache, which I guess was a hangover. Crawling out of bed, I sauntered out of my room to go get my hangover smoothie from the fridge when I stopped short at the dining table. Whoa, my belly rumbled as the tantalizing aroma invaded my nostrils, and I grinned hard. Someone walked up from behind me, and I turned to give her a big bear hug, which made her chuckle. “Put me down, baby. You'll hurt yourself.” My mom warned lightly as I twirled her around. “Oh, you made all my favorites. Are we having a feast?” I asked, finally letting her feet touch the ground, and I rushed to take a seat, my hangover smoothie long forgotten. “No. I wanted to make a lot for breakfast since we'd have to free our bowels for dinner with the Grays later today.” Mom said, and I choked on the chunk of burrito stuck in the middle of my throat. Hurrying to pour me a glass of water as I coughed, she patted my back as I drank up. “Eat slowly, I alwa

Zoey's POV Even if that wasn't the body part I viscerally intended to kiss, it still gave the same stimulating effect, coupled with the fact that a stun flashed in his eyes, which assured me I was doing good. “Fuck, Zee, that was the hottest thing anyone ever did to my dick.” He confessed, and I let the saltiness of his precum settle in my mouth, taking time to savor it instead of telling him how beautiful his dick was. There were no rules for virgins not to know how to give head. In fact, that was my expertise—not that I had many guys to experiment with. Once, I got hooked up with a guy, and instead of letting him break my hymen, I gave him the best head of his life only because I imagined his big D was Jake's. The so-called bastard still hasn't gotten over the experience and has been begging Bria to get him through to me. Apparently, I had been so disgusted with myself for doing it with him that I blocked him everywhere. “Take me already.” He was probably impatient about

Jake's POV I wasn't about to act the nice neighbor part by inviting her in even when it was just me. But a part of me was scared some other asshole would invite her in and take what was mine. What was mine? What was it anyway? “Um, where's Mrs. Gray?” She asked as I made my way to the kitchen island to get mugs for us. A minute ago I was going to make just one cup, but life was unpredictable. “Take a seat.” I ordered, brushing off her question, and her brow shot up. “Then your dad? Is he not home?” She asked again, and my jaw clenched tightly as I turned off the switch for the electric jug. “Tea or coffee?” I ignored her again, already making her tea because I've known what she liked for years. “Can you answer me like a proper human being?” She asked in frustration as she dumped her bag on the couch, walking up to me. Dropping the mug on the island with much more force than required, I looked up at her. “Well, no. If you want to keep acting like you always come
