Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Alpha's Regret: The Luna Who Defied Rejection : Kabanata 71 - Kabanata 80

LAYLA I didn't want to look at the man standing in front of me, I was too scared to even blink but as I watched him step out of the shadows, his smile getting bigger as he saw the smile on my face, my stomach dropped.Drake?I opened my mouth to say something but only hot air poured out as my eyes bulged, almost falling out of their sockets. How did he—But I couldn't process it all and I took a step back and felt immediately cold. His hands were clasped behind him and he looked at me like I was a little pup accused of stealing apples. His small eyes gleamed in the faint moonlight and his evil smile curled like a serpent poised to strike. He tilted his head and gave me another devilish smile.I thought I had escaped but no, I had run into the one person I didn't expect to see.W

DEL MORINO I never wanted any of this and now wasn't the time to blame anyone.Drake was the worst person anyone would try to make allies with, his was mostly after his own selfish gain and only yht moon goddess knew what he must have told Adrian that had made him agree to whatever nonsense he had told him. That was a discussion for another day, I just had to finish off this fool that had made everything difficult for everyone mThe sight of him standing here made me want to give him a hard slap. After all this was over I would make sure he never sees the light of the day ever again. The air was thick with pressure, the kind that sharp pressure pressed down on your chest ,making it hard to breathe. Difficult to think too.My wolf stirred beneath me, restless, trying to be free but now wasn't the time, I had everything mapped out but I contained my wolf as my eyes blazed a fiery red.Across from me, Drake stood like he owed the night, like he knew everything would work in his favor. T

DEL MORINO It was hard for me to believe, it happened so fast that I didn't see it coming. This was not how I expected the night to go and I was confused as hell.First it was Layla and now Adrian. I was caught in between and didn't know who needed my attention most.Adrian was still my brother no matter what he might have done to me in the past, at that moment I didn't care if he had agreed to bring Layla to see Drake, I didn't care if Layla had sneaked out. All that mattered was I wanted to see both of them alive. They both occupied somewhere special in my heart and I don't want to lose any of them. Adrian’s body quivered in my arms, his wolf form heaving with ragged, uneven breaths. Blood poured from the crack on his side, the deep rips where Drake’s fangs had torn into him glistering under the moonlight and my heart broke, I almost cried seeing him in that condition. I forgot that I was Del Morino, the Alpha of Alphas or how weak I might appear if someone sees me like this .At

I heard the sickening sound of metal on stone echoed in the pitch-black night as I heard the soldiers' heavy boots approaching us. They were the second batch of soldiers I had called for.Adrian. Layla. Both of them were lifted a d placed on a stretcher, their bodies limp and unconscious. My heart hammered frantically in my chest as it tried to overpower everything else. Drake had jumped down the cliff and he had made everything useless for me but he won't be gone too far before I send my men after him. I tightened my gist and stood motionless as the rest of the soldiers searched the surrounding areas. It wasn't yet safe to take action. They have to assemble tomorrow and go in search of him.I stared at the ambulance leaving. Layla and Adrian had to be fineThey had to be. As they pulled Celeste through the woods, her hands and feet shackled towards the direction of the packhouse, I could just make out her shrill wild voice. Like a knife, her

The room felt suffocating as I sat next to Adrian’s bed. His breathing was steady now, a little less shallow than it had been before. The machines beeped loudly vo, nearly like they were lullabying him into some false sense of peace. But I knew better. He wasn’t awake. And perhaps he wouldn’t be for a long time.I had been sitting there for hours, just staring at him. My mind was a mess, and my feelings were worse. I had to talk to him. I need to. But there was a storm inside me something I couldn’t ignore any longer. I left after sometime and came back. I had gone to check up on Layla and also gave instructions to the guards to tighten the borders and also search for Drake.Maybe now Adrian might be awake and we would continue with our discussion before he fell into unconsciousness. It was the pain, eating at him and his wolf and making him weaker and dragging him into padding out sometimes. The door clicked shut behind me as I s
