Jordan’s POVI knew right from the moment she walked into the room that she was Sierra. She was my wife, how did she think I wouldn’t recognize her simply because she had a mask on?Gabriel Draven, the guy I was having the business meeting with, couldn’t stop grinning the whole time. Gabriel led a dangerous cult and they specialized in producing any kind of weapons, including bombs. Usually, we’d buy from them and my men would go pick them up, after a proper checkup. But with the way my empire was growing, I wanted us to have a renewable contract binding both businesses together. That way, we didn’t have to run out or wait for when we had a new mission before getting weapons. With a steady supply, we could build an arsenal of our own and eventually become a supplier to other empires. However, I forgot all about that when I realized that Gabriel was ogling my wife. The first thing I thought about was getting somebody else to replace Sierra, so I called Andrew and told him to get some

Sierra’s POV Jordan was turning forty-five next week! I figured he didn’t want to mention it since Leila’s funeral service had just concluded. He didn’t tell me either. I found out when I went snooping around his study in the house. I was bored and I didn’t know what to do, so I thought to snoop around. Usually, I would call or text Amelia, but she was also busy running Cloud Nine with her husband. And yes, I knew she wouldn’t mind, but my mother raised me better. I needed to tell Jordan that I would love to start working. I didn’t even mind it being remote, as long as it kept me busy. I studied English Language and Literature in college and writing had always been my passion. It was either that or teaching English to students, especially non-natives in Crystal Bay. If Jordan didn’t agree to either of those, I was going to request that I begin my formal training. According to Jordan, my formal training basically entailed training to fight and kill. As the wife of a mafia don, t

Sierra’s POVSince Jordan had gone to the restroom, I wanted to distract myself until he got back. I took a few selfies and sent them to Amelia. She called me instantly.“You said Jordan is where?”“C.B’s annual fundraiser event!” I replied, matching her energy.“Girl, Jordan never attends those. Did you talk him into it?”“No...,” I drawled. “He simply came home and told me we were going.” Amelia made a funny noise that made me laugh. I noticed a man on the table close to mine and Jordan’s staring at me. He had been staring at me since I walked in with Jordan, but I didn’t think much of it. I mean, everybody stopped what they were doing to stare at us. People had gone back to their businesses, but this guy hadn’t stopped staring. It was creeping me out, which was one of the reasons I called Amelia, in hopes that Jordan would get here sooner.I knew he wouldn’t dare to try anything though. He wasn’t stupid. Jordan had eyes everywhere, so when I saw him approaching our table, I told

Jordan’s POVSierra was going to be the death of me. I wondered how she was able to do so much in so little time. The first was our bedroom. I was actually surprised but I kept my cool and pretended like the stunt Sierra pulled was very normal. There were male items everywhere, from clothes to shoes to colognes to wristwatches. And they weren’t just any kind of products, they were all from designer brands. Some, from my frequently patronized brands, which were quite expensive, if I might add.I gave the woman an unrestricted card to use for herself, and she went and doused it all on me. I made a mental note to send more money to the account. After dressing me up that morning, Sierra forced me to eat some cake. Apparently, she had talked the chef into baking me a cake with forty-five layers. How in god’s name were we going to preserve that? When I asked her about it at breakfast, she said to me, “I was hoping to throw a little party for you, but I know you wouldn’t want that.”“And y

Sierra’s POV I didn’t want to leave. “The deal was to have you for twenty-four hours,” Jordan reminded me the night we were supposed to leave. I grumpily sat on the box I packed, refusing to get up. Venice was so beautiful, especially with a man like Jordan holding you and taking you around. There were no guards around, it was just us, and I loved every bit of it. Asking Jordan if we could continue leaving our lives like that would be a stretch, so I simply basked in the moment while I had it. However, when I realized it was all coming to an end, I began to get emotional. “Didn’t you love it, Jordan? It felt surreal.” I said to Jordan. “Yes, baby. We can always come again.” “Just us?” “Just us.” If there was one thing I would be taking out of Venice, it was that my husband was a perfect gentleman! Underneath the cold exterior with which he handles business, lives a sweet man. I watched Jordan help an older lady get her bag, pull out a young child’s seat, and als
