11~ Why Does It Hurt This Much?

Julian's Point of View “You all are just a bunch of useless fools!” I growled as I smashed my cup to the floor. “You call yourselves the pack’s best scouts and trackers, yet you can’t find a wounded and almost lifeless Omega!!” I roared as anger consumed me. “We are so sorry Alpha, but she vanished into the Silver Abyss, we couldn’t follow her there without risking our lives”, their leader, Scott responded. “Then so be it!! If your heads are the price for me to get Avery back here in the pack, then it’s worth it” I declared. “But…..”, I interrupted him with a cold glare. “No buts, my words are final, gather your men and find her, don’t come back here without her”, I stated with a note of finality. “Yes, Alpha, let’s go,” Scott said to his men before they left my office. The moment the door clicked shut, I collapsed to the floor, clutching my chest as an unbearable pain surged through me. My breaths came in sharp gasps, the ache refusing to subside. Why does it hurt this much? I’

12~ If I Can't Have Her, No One Can

Julian's Point of View "My decisions are none of your business. You stay out of my affairs,” I said coldly, my voice sharp enough to cut glass. Sophia’s eyes widened in disbelief, but the fury in them didn’t waver. “*None of my business*? I’m your Luna! I’m going to be the mother of your future pups! Why are you still going after that useless Avery? She’s of no use to you, Julian! That’s why you rejected her and chose me over her,” she spat, her tone shrill and accusatory. The room seemed to grow colder. Her words ignited something in me—a spark that erupted into a roaring inferno. My fists clenched, and my vision blurred with rage. “Chose you?” I growled, my voice low and dangerous as I took a menacing step toward her. “Do you think I chose you?” Sophia flinched but tried to hold her ground. “Yes, you did! You rejected Avery because she’s weak! I’m the one who—” Before she could finish, I lunged forward, my hand wrapping around her throat in a vice-like grip. Her eyes went

13~ Avery is Nothing

Julian's Point of ViewOne week! One whole week has passed, yet no news on the whereabouts of Avery. I was going crazy, though I hated her—despised everything about that useless Omega—yet her absence gnawed at my sanity. She was the tether holding together the chaos in my mind. Without her, I felt… lost.Suddenly, the door to my office was pushed open and Scott ran in, his body was covered with all sort of bruises and injuries. I didn’t care about his injuries or the blood trickling down his temple. All I wanted was to hear one thing, that Avery has been found.“Where's she?!” I asked with impatience laced in my voice.“Alpha, we're so sorry, we couldn't find her” he said with his head bent to the floor. The room went still.“What did you just say?” I rose slowly from my chair, each step deliberate, my voice dropping to a dangerous growl.“We couldn't find her” he repeated as he slowly backed away from me, but I was faster than him.In a blur of motion, my hand shot out, clamping arou

14~ The Distraction

Julian's Point of View“Why would you want that useless Omega back? Avery is nothing,” I whispered, as if saying it aloud would make it true. “She’s not worthy to be my Luna. Sophia is perfect. She’s strong, noble, and exactly what this pack needs. Not Avery.”How am I going to apologize to Sophia? I had hurt her. Even if Avery returns back to the pack, it doesn't matter because she isn't strong or worthy to be my Luna, Sophia would still be my Luna. But, I couldn’t stop thinking about her.The image of Avery—her perfect body, her vulnerability at the lake, the way she seemed to belong in the world in a way I never could—swirled relentlessly in my mind. My fists clenched at my sides as I paced back and forth in my office, my thoughts a whirlwind of anger, frustration, and desire. I was losing my grip, and I knew I needed something—someone—to break free from the suffocating thoughts of her. That’s when I decided to go to her.Sophia’s room was on the other side of the pack house, isola

15~ I Feel Nothing

Kaiden’s Point of ViewThe rays of sunlight pierced through the curtains like sharp blades, cutting through the dim haze of the room and flooding my vision. I groaned, shifting on the leather couch, and instinctively raised my arm to shield my face from the invasive light. My body felt heavy, as though weighed down by an invisible force. Slowly, I pushed myself upright, blinking against the light. A frown etched itself onto my face as an unsettling sensation washed over me—a feeling so foreign, so wrong, that it made my skin crawl. My head throbbed, and then, like a bolt of lightning, a sharp, splitting pain lanced through my skull. “Argh!” I clutched my temples, gasping as the pain intensified, hot and searing. My breaths came out ragged as my vision blurred, and I could feel Slade, writhing within me. His usually calm and confident presence was now replaced by anguish and confusion. “What’s happening?” I growled through gritted teeth, though no one was there to answer. “Ka

16~ Take Her And Do To Her As You Please

Caspian’s Point of ViewThe tension in the room was thick enough to cut with a blade, and the silence stretched unbearably. My Alpha—Kaiden—stood with his back to me, his posture rigid, fists clenched at his sides. It wasn’t the first time I’d seen him frustrated, but this? This felt different.I stole a glance at the girl sitting on the edge of his bed. Avery. She was eerily calm, her gaze flitting between Kaiden and me like an uninterested spectator at a dull show. She didn’t look afraid, not even the slightest bit nervous. Her hands were folded neatly in her lap, her head slightly tilted, as if the entire situation were beneath her notice.“Then why doesn’t she feel right?” Kaiden’s voice broke the silence, harsh and biting.I frowned, unsure how to answer. “Alpha, maybe…” I started, but his glare pinned me in place. My words faltered.“You can take her with you. I don’t want to see her when I get back,” he snapped, his voice cold and final. The words hit me like a slap, and for a

17~ Shopping With Laura

Avery's Point of View Immediately I saw the strange man. I felt as if I'd known him all my life but it was strange as this was my first time seeing him.I knew what this feeling was, I can clearly remember feeling like this when I found out, that Julian was my mate. So, does that mean the strange man was my second chance mate?If that's so, then why can't I feel anything? That was when it dawned on me that I lost contact with my wolf when Julian rejected me, I was just an Omega, the pain was too much for her to handle and it's even surprising that I'm still alive. My body felt heavy, my limbs numb, as though my wolf’s absence had left me hollow. The memory of Julian’s rejection burned like old scars beneath my skin.Well, I guess it was for the better, she doesn't deserve a weak human as me for a companion. The man’s presence filled the room like a thunderstorm waiting to break. His dark eyes locked onto mine briefly, and for a moment, I thought I saw affection but it was gone as qui

18~ Maya's Outburst

Avery's Point of View “I’ve never worn anything like this before. It doesn’t feel… real,” I admitted, my voice trembling slightly. Laura placed a hand on my shoulder, her expression softening. “You’ve been through a lot,” she said gently. “But you’re here now. And you deserve to feel good about yourself.” I smiled slightly though I was still on guard just incase all of this was a facade and I would know how to defend myself. Laura handed me a stunning white dress, and my breath caught the moment I saw it. The fabric shimmered under the store's soft lighting, a masterpiece adorned with delicate sequins that reflected a rainbow of hues. Tiny diamond-like stones were intricately embedded throughout the design, catching the light with every slight movement. The dress was mid-thigh in length, hugging the body in all the right places while maintaining an air of sophistication. Its most striking feature was the open back—a sweeping curve that added an edge of allure without compromisi

19~ Kneel And Lick My Shoes

Avery's Point of View Maya’s smirk faltered for a moment before she regained her composure, but I saw it. A flicker of uncertainty in her eyes. I refused to let her win, not like this. This dress was mine, and no amount of money, power, or arrogance would change that.“What did you say to me?” She asked as she squinted her eyes at me.“I said, I'm not giving the dress to you, it's mine!!” I retorted as I stood up to her, it took me all my will power to confront her. She looked so intimidating, bit I refused to be looked down on, I refuse to remain people's punching bag.“I guess you're new in town, I can have your head brought to me just be a snap of my fingers”, she said with a smirk, but I refused to back down, not this time.“Then go ahead, snap it”, I challenged with a smirk of my own.The smirk on her face faded as she stepped back a bit, “You're going to regret this!!” She screamed then she called out “Get her!! Beat her up, make sure to break her legs!!”I thought it was jus

20~ This Didn't Make Sense

Avery's Point of View “You little—!” She lunged at me, her hand raised to strike.“Any hands that touch her shall be cut off.”The room fell into complete silence as everyone turned to the source of the voice.**********Laura turned to Maya, her tone icy. “What is the meaning of this? Is this how you treat someone under my care?”“Miss Laura!” Maya stammered, her voice trembling.Laura ignored her, her gaze locked on me. Her calm expression softened slightly as she stepped closer. “Are you alright?”I nodded, a wave of relief washing over me. “I am now.”“How dare you bully her?”, now it was Maya’s turn to tremble, I never knew that Laura had this much power here and that made me admire her even more.“Beta Laura, she insulted me and I was only doing the right thing by putting her in her place”, Maya responded as she tried holding her ground, though there were still visible traces of fear in her eyes.Laura being the Beta’s mate automatically placed her in a very high and powerful p
