Lexie's POVThe week passed in a wonderful atmosphere. Patrick slept at my apartment every night and we spent our days together at the office - it couldn't have been better. Those days, whenever I entered Patrick office, I locked the door, because Alexander always showed up. I was starting to think he had a camera in my office and could see every time I went into Patrick's room.On Saturday, we had arranged to go out with Rick, PH, and Thales, since everything had gone wrong last time and we wanted to enjoy the night at the club the way it should have been a few days earlier. Patrick asked me to wear the same dress, but I didn't want to repeat the disaster and had a better idea in mind, so I convinced him that something different would be better. He was waiting for me in the living room when I finished getting ready. I was wearing a cream-colored embroidered outfit with lots of sparkles - a mini skirt and a strappy crop top that showed part of my belly, paired with golden sandals with

Patrick's POVI took a deep breath and sat down facing my friend. I knew it would be complicated for him to understand, but I didn't expect to be caught so off guard."First of all, I'm sorry about how you found out. I wanted to tell you personally before anyone else could say anything..." I started, trying to look at least somewhat embarrassed, though the situation was actually tragicomic."Oh, sure! I bet Rick is covering this up," Flavian complained."Actually, I wouldn't say covering up..." And there I was, preparing for him to get pissed at me again. He just looked at me. "Flavian, things happened, it wasn't planned, and by the time I realized it, there was no avoiding it anymore.""What do you mean by that?""I tried to stay away from her, I really tried. But you imposed that truce on us..." He interrupted me."Oh, so now it's my fault?" He was irritated, but not as much anymore. I could tell when his anger was starting to fade."In a way! Look, I kept my distance from her and ke

Patrick's POVThat family gathering was something I'd been expecting. I knew my parents well, and I was familiar enough with the Moreno family to know they got together for everything. In the end, I was actually finding it amusing. With our parents there, Flavian and Raul couldn't intimidate me, since I had Lexie's parents on my side. In a way, it was quite convenient. But Lexie was stressed about the visitors. It had caught her off guard and made her nervous. Raul's reference to marriage made her lose her composure completely. I looked at Lexie and saw she was red with anger. Looking into her eyes, I noticed fear there too. Did she think I'd run away because Raul was trying to intimidate me by mentioning marriage? I wouldn't. I'd been serious when I said I wanted to be with her, and as long as things were good between us, her two brothers wouldn't make me run.I held Lexie's hand and smiled at her, as if asking her to calm down and assuring her everything was fine. She stared at me an

Patrick's POVLexie had been so strange during the time she spent at my house, so different from the first time she came. I didn't know if it was the house or the families present that made her this way. At the first opportunity she had, she escaped to the kitchen, exactly like she used to do when she was a child and didn't want to be exposed at occasions when there were many people at her house. I would even ask Wanda what they talked about so much, but I was certain I'd receive an evasive answer. After lunch, as soon as we left the table, she made an excuse that she had arranged to meet Melissa, but I knew she wanted to leave. She was so transparent to me."Do you really have to go?" I asked her while we walked arm in arm to the door."Yes, I already arranged to meet Mel. We're meeting at the mall." She smiled, but that smile didn't reach her eyes."Come on then." I pulled her toward the garage. "Take one of my cars. It can even be the Bel Air," I spoke in a relaxed tone so she would

Lexie's POVPatrick and I spent the night wrapped up in each other's arms. It felt wonderful being with him and waking up to his warm body pressed against mine. But while my fingers lightly traced his skin, my mind was full of thoughts. I kept thinking about the many things he'd told me over the past week, especially what he'd said about considering asking me to be his girlfriend when I was younger, and how he'd said he wanted me and wouldn't let me go anymore while we made love. It made me wonder if maybe he was already a little bit in love with me and just hadn't realized it yet."Those fingers are magical!" I heard his sexy just-woke-up voice and smiled when he turned toward me. "Good morning, my sweet!""Good morning, honey!" I ran my hand across his face and looked deep into his eyes."What are you looking for?" I looked at him, not understanding his question, and he explained. "You're searching for something in my eyes.""How do you know me so well?" I asked, confused at being ca
