Lahat ng Kabanata ng His Regret: Winning Back Her Heart: Kabanata 281 - Kabanata 290

Marietta’s POVI can’t believe this has gotten to the point where I have to name my price for love.A path where I have to choose between love and sanity. Which should I go for? Tears streamed down my face as I tried to wriggle my hand away from Aiden. His mother’s eyes still lingered on mine as tears continued to roll down her cheeks as well.“Mother, this is emotional blackmail. And I won’t take it from you,” Aiden snapped, grabbing my hand as we both made our way out.The skies are gathering, ready to pour down their content like they used to do. The breeze tossed my hair across my face, causing it to stick to my face, which was already wet with tears.Preventing me from seeing Aiden, whose hands were still trying to reach out to me. I shook my head in disapproval as I took a few steps backward. “Marietta,” With the way he called my name, I knew this matter was a serious one. Now that both of us are in our right senses, we need to make a decision. The lightning in the sky r

Michael's POVThree days ago. I remembered asking the doctor what exactly was wrong with Etta. But seeing her collapsing on Clara's hand. Something is definitely wrong. “Excuse me–” “You are excused,” Jackson lashed. But that was the least of my problems. I raced down to the hospital where Marietta was admitted the other day she fainted. Soon I was able to meet with the doctor in charge of her the day she was rushed down. “Doctor, is there something I should know?” I questioned. “Nothing. She will be fine,” he shrugged. “Doc?” I reached out again. With my wrist clenched and my knuckles turning white. I asked again. “She has a tumor on the left side of her brain.” He confessed. I'm not someone to use force on people. But I didn't have a choice. “What do you mean she has a tumor?” I stuttered. I don't know how to explain to Marietta that I'm so sorry. That I want to be a part of her life. I know the pain she felt three years ago. I'm genuinely sorry. I just want to be

Michael’s POVI’ve done all I could, but I still couldn’t win her heart.Yeah, she hates me so much. Yes, I’m a bad person and she’s right. “I need to clear my head,” I said.Running my hands through my hair, I raced down the wet street. It’s been long since I went to a bar. Ever since I stopped taking bodyguards with me. Life has been much easier.I’ve been able to escape the prying eyes of the reporters and there has been less talk of me on the internet these days.Except for the fact that I’m the youngest AI researcher in America right now.And also the fact that they thought Marietta and I were back together.I was midway back to my house when Gloria called me.“Yes,” “I think you might want to see this,” she said on the phone.“Send it to my phone,” I answered.“Can we meet up?” She requested.I’ve been avoiding Gloria all my life. She’s a beautiful woman like I said. But I can’t seem to get Marietta out of my head these days. I wanted her back. I can’t see myself with anot

Marietta’s POV Placing my hand on his chest to stop him from going further. I heard my daughter's voice echo from the staircase. “Mommy,” Valerie called repeatedly. I was yet to recover from the kiss and the whole emotional thing that just happened. “I'm sorry,” Albert stuttered and left in a haste. “Sunshine,” I said, running towards Valerie. Checking her out to see if she has a cut. “Are you okay?” I asked repeatedly. I hugged her tighter as I thank God for keeping her safe. I thought I was never going to see her again. “Mommy, I wanna go home,” Valerie cried. “I wanna see daddy,” she added with some tears rolling down her cheeks. “Mommy, I'm scared.” She continued. Wiping off the tears from her cheeks. I stared into her eyes. “Listen baby. We'll go home okay. I promise,” I said, pecking her forehead. Finally turning towards the guards. I summoned my courage. “Can I have my phone? I need to leave,” Just after demanding for my phone. I was met with silence as no one

Marietta’s POV “Get behind me,” Albert commanded. I was about to leave when the door flung open. Quickly, Albert pulled me into him and covered me up with his towel. Jeez, I could feel his boner. But I knew better than to disgrace myself and not cooperate. I can't afford to see Jackson in this way. He might as well also conclude I'm a whore who slept with his brother. “Where are you keeping her?” Jackson shouted. The guards pulled his back so Albert could get out of the room. I reached out for the door and locked it from behind. Placing my ears on the door, I could hear their arguments. “Did you know about it?” “About what, Jackson? You should have grown up by now,” I heard Albert lashed. “Grown up? Do you think you and father can trick me? What stunts are you pulling huh? Where are you keeping her?” he burst out. By her? Does he mean me? Is he truly a bad person like Albert had said? Why, then, did he approach me? So many unanswered questions lingered in my head as I
