Carson's Point Of View. The door closed behind Morris. He silently watched me. "What's wrong with you?" He finally broke the silence. "Nothing's wrong with me. I should be asking you that question." "What do you mean by that?" He asked, stepping further into the room until he was grasping the chair that was opposite my table. "You seemed a little bit too cozy with the home keeper and all." I just wanted us to talk like we usually did. Our case was finally heading somewhere after years of burning midnight oil. It was something to celebrate. And, today, thirty was staring me right in the face. That was huge. I did not want us to argue. I felt like arguing, I knew he did too. But I was not going to give in. I refused to do so. "We were just talking. She called me her friend, don't friends talk?" "Of course, they do."

Morris's Point of View. "Hey." I had been standing there for a while and she didn't even know it. It was either she did know or maybe she didn't want to hear. Or perhaps she didn't want us to have any conversation. I was still going to try. How was I even supposed to win her over if we couldn't engage... If I couldn't engage her. She turned around slowly, and then flashed me that smile of hers that drove me nuts. It always made me want to run to Tiffany & Co. to buy a ring just for her finger. "Morris, hi." She continuously stirred batter, her smile intact. "How are you?" She asked. There was a lot I wanted to tell her. A lot I wanted to confess to her. A lot I wanted her to know, as heavy as there were. But I couldn't. For crying out loud, I know how crazy it seemed to me when girls tell how in love they were with me. Now, I felt just a little bit of what they must have known trying to make me under

Katy's Point of View. Jackson? Really?Of all the backup they could send, it was Jackson. We couldn't even agree on a pen to use at the office, it was here they thought we would both succeed? I felt like screaming, preferably at Mrs Smith's face. Let her feel a little bit of this heat. She had promised me this wouldn't happen. She promised, on her part, that this job would be glitch-free. Now, here I was. Standing not too far from Jackson's annoyingly smug face. If we got caught, the both of us was going to be thrown into the depths of the ocean. Everything was going to get scraped, everything that might proof that we worked here. Like fishes. Only the testimonies of

Katy's Point of View. When I pulled back, I knew he was going to be surprised. He was surprised, but not displeased. He smiled slowly and gave me one last chaste kiss before he finally closed the door behind him. Good call. Seriously, angry and jealous Adelaide, I knew I didn't want to face as much as I didn't want to face Carson. My heart was still beating fast but not from the scare. Who knew kisses could make you lightheaded?"I didn't really expect you to be in here." He searched my eyes and I began to search my head frantically. Think, Kate! Think!I blurted the first thing that came to my mind. "Um... Well, I was looking for you. I didn't like the way we left things this morning. And I can't help but feel tha

Carson's Point of View. The minute we stepped in, I already knew what everyone was going to say. I knew them too well not to know. From everything, the way Morris kept a calm smile was surprising, being that Charmaine was in the room. He carefully closed the door behind him, immediately he came in after her. When it was obvious that we weren't being heard, he finally let out. "Dangit! What are you doing, Carson? You didn't tell me you were going to get her involved. Now she's here. We had a ball tonight, for all we care, freaks have sent out assassins to kill my sister? What then? What  do you plan to do then?"Offended and trying not to match his stone, to show him the respect, I slowly spoke. "We will cross that bridge whe
