Xavier stood there, staring at his best friend, Mason, and his ex-wife, and all he could feel was rage about Mason’s hands on her. As the woman he once loved stood there, her gaze fixed downward, he couldn't help but think, *The bitch knows what she did.*"Xavier, hey," Mason said, making Xavier look at him."What is going on here?" Xavier asked, his voice sharp.Mason huffed. "Nothing. I was on my way to your office when this beautiful but quite familiar woman bumped into me." He glanced at her, but she kept her gaze down.Xavier scoffed, ignoring Mason's compliment. "Let me guess, you were once her lover?" he asked, noticing the pain flash across her face.He stared at her blankly.Mason scoffed. "Don't be ridiculous, man. I said she looks familiar. Certainly not in the way you're thinking."Xavier hummed. "I see. Well, she has a history of having lovers, which is why I thought of that when you said she is beautiful and familiar." He looked at her again. Her gaze remained downcast,

“Thank you," Mason said, smiling at Giselle after she placed his glass of red wine in front of him.She forced a smile as well and was about to walk towards Xavier’s table when..."Seriously?" Xavier asked, making her freeze."You have some nerve, don't you, Miss Harrison?" Xavier said, walking closer. She furrowed her brows. He stood behind his chair, looking at her. Her heart pounded as he continued."How dare you flirt with my best friend in my office, Miss Harrison?" he asked, making her furrow her brows in confusion. What? Flirt? Giselle asked internally. He was looking at her unpleasantly."Xavier, what the hell?" Mason interjected.Xavier raised his finger at him, silencing him.He turned back to Giselle. "I asked you a question.""I wasn't flir—""Are you calling me blind?" he interrupted. She shook her head."Have you no shame, huh?"What was he on about? She didn’t understand..."Are you that starved that you can't help but flirt with any man you see?!" he snapped, glaring

“What kid?" Xavier asked and terror washed over Giselle. He was looking at her, expecting an answer."No... nothing, sir," she stuttered."What kid are you talking about, Miss Harrison?" he insisted. Her heart felt like it was about to explode."Dude, chill," Mason said.Xavier shot him a glare, silencing him. Mason raised his hands in surrender.Xavier turned his attention back to Giselle.Terror washed over her again. She clenched her phone with her sweaty hand."I am listening, Miss Harrison," he said."I... my..." She cleared her throat, dropping her gaze."Have you lost your ability to speak?" he asked. She shook her head."Then tell me what kids you were talking about.""My... my neighbor's kids," she said, looking up at him.He raised his brows at her."I am their nanny," she lied.He scoffed. "Nanny?"She nodded."You work as a nanny as well," he said. She nodded again."Wow," Mason remarked, making her glance at him.He furrowed his brows, confused. She looked back at Xavier.

Giselle closed her eyes at the loud sound of Blaire’s voice."He did what now?" Blaire asked, sounding excited.Giselle shook her head. "It is not an exciting thing, Blaire.""Why not? Of course it is. Your grumpy ex-husband kissed you!""He returned to his angry mode right after. I mean, an angrier mode.""Oh," Blaire replied.Giselle heaved a sigh."Seriously?" Blaire asked."Yes. He sent me out of his presence, Blaire. I felt terrible. I felt like the worst thing on earth." Giselle almost cried."Calm down, girlfriend. Don't think too much about it."Giselle sighed again."It is really confusing. I mean, why did he kiss you?" Blaire asked."I don't know. I am confused too. The kiss was..." Giselle paused, thinking about how amazing it had been. His hands around her and the intensity of his lips moving roughly on hers."How was the kiss?" Blaire asked.Giselle sighed. "Unexplainable.""Could it be that he is still in love with you?" Blaire asked."I don't know, Blaire. But he has ma

Xavier scoffed as she leaned down to pick up the files that had fallen from her hands while gawking at him.Or could she be drooling?Well, of course. She was drooling."Seriously, Miss Harrison? Are you always this clumsy, or did you get lost in your lousy imaginations?" he asked, walking toward the nightstand and picking up his lotion. He didn't get an answer from her."I asked you a question, Miss Harrison," he said without looking at her."I... I... am sorry," she stuttered, clearing her throat. He scoffed. He took some lotion in his palm, rubbed his hands together, and applied it to his body.He could feel her eyes on him.He guessed she was swimming in a pool of regrets right now. She must feel awful for leaving this for the stupid lover of hers.Smirking, he turned around and met her gaze, which was fixed downwards. She wasn't even staring at him.Seriously? She was just standing there with the files in her hands and... literally staring at them."What are you doing here?" he a
