Chapter Thirty-One

Kaiden and I have been best friends since Mr Kingston's death and I have been by his side all through the years. But since we've been friends, he has always taken the spot light. He was always been the outstanding one, the one who went to the best school in the world, the one who also had to take charge of his father's company. He was always stepping on me and I have always been the one after him.Anytime I remembered that he is my boss, I always burn in anger but I have to suck it up everytime. He never gave me a chance to win or a chance to bring him down, he is always one step ahead of me. Now that he is not doing well and he can't function well in the company, it is my time to shine.I try to put my effort for everyone to see that I am capable and qualified to replace Kaiden at anytime. I just hope he remains like that for ever, then will he know what it means for someone to be under him and taking all his bullshit. I knew that one way Mrs Kingston would finally notice me and my

Chapter Thirty-Two

Trisha's POV "The people in the city are asking questions about where the famous billionaire Kaiden Kross is and why Kingston inc. is going through financial crisis, which is not something we see everyday. Some sources say that Kaiden went on a business trip, other sources claimed that Mr Kross is struggling with drinking addictions. No one is coming out to clear the air to what happened to Mr. Kross that he is not really seen around recently, or why the company is crumbling. The people urge the Kingstons to come out and clear the air or they will be led to believe whatever they are led to believe."I heaved a sign of emptiness as I switched off the TV after listening to the entertainment new today. The Press just don't know what to talk about. I mean, is Kaiden the main problem in the state right now? They speak like Kaiden is some kind of god that needs to come out and answer all their questions. I am highly disappointed.I picked up my phone to check the news update for today and

Chapter Thirty-Three

"Trisha!!! Trisha!!!", Kaiden yelled my name even more. I sprinted out of my room to attend to him, just in case he had a nightmare again.I got to his room and saw Kaiden sitting on his bed with his phone in his hand. Oh no!"What is this Trisha?", he yelled pointing at the image on his phone. I squinted my eyes to look at the image on his screen, and it was the blog post of this morning. I thought that since I had carried the newspaper from his sight he will not have any access to the news. I forgot to take away his cellphone, and he just had to see the news right after he woke up. "Relax Kaiden. It's just the press looking for something to talk about", I said trying to take the phone away from him, but he didn't let me."I need to do something before they tarnish my reputation", Kaiden yelled as he stood up from his bed."Kaiden wait, you are just over reacting", I said trying to put him back to the bed but his resistance was too strong. "Leave me alone Trisha, you are not the o

Chapter Thirty-Four

Mrs Kingston's POV I don't really know how Trisha always thinks she will enjoy quality time with Kaiden any time she wants. She just keeps day dreaming, but I will never let it happen on my watch. The Housekeeper told me about everything that happened when I wasn't around in the day. How Gil went in and out of the mansion and also brought three men with him. The four of them occasional pulled in and out of the mansion with boxes and tools. That alone sounded really suspicious when she told me. I had to see everything for myself. After I freshened up and had my massage session, I decided to see for myself what exactly was going on up there. Just to see Trisha enjoying herself with Kaiden. I felt more disgusted than I have ever been seeing them together. Seeing them smiling at each other gave me a big scare, it creeped me out.It seemed as though Kaiden was fully recovered but no one told me it, not even Trisha. I am working my butt off to see that Chantel and Kaiden get married so tha

Chapter Thirty-Five

As minutes went by, people started entering the vessel, this annoyed me very much because I expected the captain to take me to the other side before these other people entered. According to him, things didn't work that way. After holding my breath for a long time? He didn't explain this to me earlier.Everytime I released my breath, I felt like throwing up. The yacht gave up this fowl odor and it became very stuffy as people pushed their way into the it. The passengers in the vessels are all local traders from the market and were all heading to the Rodeo Bar for drinks. The government wouldn't have wasted any money on this yacht for these locals, they have would have allowed them to continue with the canoes they normally used. Someone can easily contact a disease. The yacht is carrying more people than what it can occupy and it was getting compacted.I would have just told the housekeeper to go and bring the feedback home if I had known what I was going to put myself through. It stin

Chapter Thirty-Six

Chantel's POV Today I really had a feeling that I was being followed. I didn't want to make it obvious to Matt, but we had to finish the meeting sooner than usual. Even with that, I still got caught by Mrs Kingston. I thought that if I could go as far as Rodeo Bar, I would not be found by Mrs Kingston. I just had a feeling that she wouldn't come this far, but she proved me wrong. I honestly don't know how she does it everytime. At that point when she found out, I was bobbling to take my stand and tell her my plan, I didn't fear what was going to happen next. When she told me that Kaiden had recovered, I had to reconsider my decision. Mrs Kingston was right about getting those suitors. I wanted to get suitors but I just did it out of hope that I might possibly get one for myself. I wasn't really sure if I would be able to get one for myself, but with Kaiden, it was sure; at least not 100%, but it was sure. She knew that I would come to apologize sooner or later, but I was too angry a

Chapter Thirty-Seven

Lucian's POV Everything was finally falling into place in the company and I felt it was time to take up the responsibility. Today was going to be a good day and nothing was going to take that joy away from me.I walked with pride to Mrs Kingston's office with that mindset of going to accept Mrs Kingston's offer, not minding what Stacey was going to say.Knock knock "Come in", Mrs Kingston commanded. As I walked in, she was arranging her desk to leave and I took a bow."Whatever you want to say, say it fast, I have a meeting to attend", she said piling one file above the other."I would like to stand in for you in the meeting, as the CEO Ma", I replied boldly. She immediately dropped the files on the table and pulled her chair closer in amazement."What did you just say?", she asked as though she didn't hear me the first time."I considered your offer and I am going to stand in as the CEO for the meantime, till Kaiden recovers fully", I said, adjusting my jacket."You are supposed to

Chapter Thirty-Eight

Stacey's POVI could not believe that with all my possible efforts to make Lucian change his mind on taking up the CEOposition, he still went ahead to do what ever he thought was right. I mean, what was he thinking? Did he even think of how I would feel or how Kaiden will feel after hearing about what is best friend is up to?The worst thing is that Kaiden doesn't know, and if this gets out on the internet, Kaiden will surely find out. I wonder how Kaiden will feel once he reads it in the papers or on the internet. Mrs Kingston on the other hand knows how long it took for Kaiden to come back shape, she will trigger him back to his ill state.Lucian will have to answer me on this one."Lucian!", I yelled, barging into the CEO's office. Lucian did not even waste anymore time in taking Kaiden's position and even his office. He just has to do it immediately.Lucian looked up at me boiling in anger. "You know this is not your office Miss Stacey, this is the office of the CEO, so treat it l

Chapter Thirty-Nine

Chantel's POV This is the fifth time that the nurse is here to treat the injury that Kaiden gave me and Mrs Kingston is still telling me that everything is going to be fine. Everyday I feel like Mrs Kingston doesn't care about what Kaiden does to me anymore, she allows things to happen because I want them to. At the end, I am the one left to face all the consequences on my own. I just wish I could escape, but I can't.I am constantly haunted by the torture I went through that night in Kaiden's hands, and I just wish I could sleep. Mrs Kingston literally left me in Kaiden's room that night thinking that everything was okay. And I hate the fact that Trisha of all people was the one who came to rescue me that night. It appeared that she came to check up on Kaiden in his room, and she saw me. Kaiden succumbed to her voice and pardoned my life, if not I would not be breathing today. Trisha saved my life once again. Now she will go bragging it to her friend and she will use it against me

Chapter Forty

Kaiden's POV Chantel doesn't still know who I am. She doesn't know that I get what I want whenever I want it and where ever I want it. She is so unfortunate. That night was just a payback for taking advantage of me and getting pregnant, which I knew that she deserved. Now she will think twice before taking advantage of me. I don't let people get away after doing something wrong to me, she should bare that in mind.I am fine now and doing great, all thanks to Trisha. I have come to like her more than usual but I don't want to let it get to me. Mrs Kingston just keeps ruining our moments together, which she will pay for sooner or later.Mrs Kingston suggested that I do a live video to convince people that I am fine, and that the allegations placed on me were false. Trisha suggested to stay by my side through the whole process, at least she won't join the live video but she will be next to me. She was the only one who convinced me to go on with it."Good evening everyone. It's Kaiden K
