LIAM'S POV The loud bang of a gunshot shattered the night. The echo rang in my ears, forcing my body to still. Daniel and I had been locked in a furious struggle, but the sound forced us apart. My heart pounded as I turned my head toward the source of the shot. There, standing in the doorway of his house, was Marcus. The barrel of his gun was still smoking, the bullet lodged somewhere in the roofing above us. His chest rose and fell heavily, his expression dark and unreadable. “Can you both stop this nonsense?!” Marcus shouted, his voice raw with frustration. I pushed myself up from the ground, my breath coming in short gasps. My hands were bruised from the fight. Across from me, Daniel stood as well, brushing dirt from his clothes like he was trying to rid himself of me entirely. But the fire in his eyes remained.
