Chapter 391

Ariel lifted her head and spotted Jayson, who stood behind Frederick. He had a neutral expression on his face. With one simple action, he managed to keep Frederick under control.Frederick could feel a sharp pain in his shoulder blade. He reflexively took a step backward. He pursed his lips when he saw Jayson. "Mr. Larkin? No, you probably had some misunderstanding. I was just talking to Ariel Walker."Jayson finally let go of him. At the same time, he glanced at Ariel out of the corners of his eyes.Chad had already stuck his hand out in front of Ariel to protect her when he saw Frederick raising his hand. He lowered his guard a little now. Still, Chad's expression seemed a bit cold.Frederick subconsciously raised his hand to massage the area of his shoulder where it still hurt. He looked slightly puzzled as he gazed at Jayson. "Mr. Larkin, you've come here to speak up for Ms. Stanton, right?"Jayson was Nancy's boyfriend, after all. He must be here to make Ariel's side explain

Chapter 392

Ariel asked straightforwardly, "Are you here to blame us for what happened? Or are you thinking of having me let Nancy off by making threats?"Jayson looked at her. There was no hint of anger or displeasure on his face. He merely curled his lips. "Does it seem to you I'm going to do something like that?"Ariel smirked. "Mr. Larkin, stop beating around the bush and just cut to the chase."She would like to hear what kind of excuse Jayson would use to threaten her.Considering Jayson's status and influence, Ariel would rather hear about his plans and thoughts first. Otherwise, they might not even realize what was happening once Jayson's side started attacking Faye Technologies.Unlike most people, Jayson wasn't someone Ariel could get rid of simply by refusing to meet or talk to him.Colton frowned slightly. He found Ariel's attitude toward Jayson extremely rude. Jayson had only overlooked that since he didn't care about her.Jayson could tell that Ariel was being wary. He walked

Chapter 393

Jayson wasn't in any hurry. He lowered his gaze and studied Ariel's expression. "You can take your time to consider my suggestion."He didn't try too hard to persuade Ariel either. After leaving the documents on the table, Jayson tapped his finger lightly on the tabletop. He gazed at Ariel with those dark eyes. "You can contact me anytime."He did not linger around, waiting for Ariel's reply. Instead, Jayson turned around and left the room.Ariel sat in the chair with a pensive look on her face. Then, she took the documents and headed downstairs.Perhaps it was because Jayson had shown up that Frederick didn't stay around for too long, as he took off shortly afterward. Chad noticed the grim look on Ariel's face. When they reached the restaurant and met up with Janice, neither he nor Ariel brought up how Frederick had stopped by their office and blamed them for what happened to Nancy. They were worried the quick-tempered Janice might want to track Frederick down right away and b

Chapter 394

A lot of their partners had terminated their contracts with Veyo Solutions and pulled back their funds. Nancy would also have to deal with the aftermath of the incident. An idealist and perfectionist like her would be in great despair facing her current situation. The whole incident must have given Nancy quite a blow."Still, we can proceed with filing the lawsuit against her if you can't forgive her for what she did." Chad looked at Ariel. He was being considerate of her feelings and opinion.Ariel shook her head. She understood his concerns. "Chad, why should I bother wasting my time on someone like her, who means nothing to me? If I chose to give up on such a great offer for someone like Nancy, wouldn't it make Jayson think that I'm so keen on punishing Nancy because I'm still not over him yet?"Besides, the worst thing Nancy did was releasing those statements, which were basically defamation against Faye Technologies. For the part where Terrance and Seth had violated Faye Techn

Chapter 395

It was obvious Jayson had expected to get that request from Ariel. He waited silently to let Ariel finish. Then, Jayson said slowly, "You can request anything else except for that."A mocking smile tugged at the corners of Ariel's lips. "That's the only thing I want."They lapsed into an uncomfortable silence. Even though they were speaking on the phone, Ariel could still sense tension in the air."I don't have the painting in my possession. I can tell you pretty frankly that the Stantons don't have the painting either. The painting doesn't belong to me. It's not up to me to decide whether you can have it or not," Jayson said in a monotonous voice. He made it very clear he couldn't help Ariel with that. Ariel furrowed her brows. When Nancy was trying to beat her to secure the painting, she clearly mentioned that she wanted to purchase the painting and give it to Sarah as a gift. How come the painting was not in their possession? Did they already sell it to someone else?Ariel

Chapter 396

Ariel made an appointment for her next chemotherapy session. On Tuesday, she freed up some time for her visit to Bluum Tower.…In the afternoon, Matt accompanied Nancy to Bluum Tower since he was free.Nancy had been extremely busy these days. It was almost midnight by the time she and the representatives of a formerly partnering company had finished discussing their contract termination. When Veyo Solutions had just launched their system, Faye Technologies was embroiled in the plagiarism scandal. That had somewhat helped bring Veyo Solutions a lot of collaboration opportunities.Since the system created by the team led by Terrance contained plagiarized code, Veyo Solutions had been ordered to discontinue the use of their system.Consequently, the collaborations fell through. Not only did Veyo Solutions have to compensate for the contract termination, but they also had to cover the losses incurred by the partnering companies.Nancy could only do her best to convince and reassu

Chapter 397

Ariel figured that Jayson had probably already taken care of matters involving the other shareholders. The entire process went smoothly. The only thing was that Jayson had given Ariel sole ownership and control over the company. Nexura Solutions was also separated from Bluum Corp.Ariel could decide whether she wanted to keep or replace the directors or certain employees Jayson had personally appointed. They also discussed some relevant procedures. Jayson retained 10% of Nexura Solutions' equity. However, he entrusted his voting rights to Ariel. Jayson would not participate in any of the company's decision-making processes. Instead, he would just receive the corresponding dividends.Jayson had given up all the decision-making power and control over the company.By the time the meeting was over, Ariel was feeling a bit dazed. It was hard to believe how smoothly everything went. When she stood up and got to the door, Jayson had walked over to that area as well.He lowered his gaz

Chapter 398

So what if Ariel had obtained Nexura Solutions' ownership? The amount of care and affection Nancy had received from Jayson would remain something unattainable to Ariel for the rest of her life.Ariel would never be able to have it regardless of what methods she would resort to or how hard she prayed for it.…Several procedures needed to be taken care of regarding the transfer of Nexura Solutions' ownership. After spending two days working on those things, Ariel had a rough idea of what she wanted to do about the employees and their subsequent plans. In the meantime, Ariel had also kept her word and dropped the charges. However, almost everyone had learned about what Veyo Solutions did at that point. Faye Technologies had also issued a statement regarding the incident.Nexura Solutions' employees were shocked when they received the news.Ariel had discussed with Chad about appointing some of their most trusted employees to certain positions in Nexura Solutions. At the same tim

Chapter 399

Nancy stared at Cassidy, who was clearly younger, with widened eyes. Then, she cast Ariel a stony gaze. She reckoned it was Ariel's idea that a young assistant like Cassidy would dare speak to her in that tone.Nancy found the situation rather amusing. Ariel could barely hide the fact that she actually felt threatened by her.Ariel had only obtained Nexura Solutions' ownership because of her. Yet, she was acting so smug and haughty about it now."Is this the kind of person you have working under you, Ms. Walker? She couldn't even treat a guest with the most basic level of respect."Nancy curled her lips. There was no hint of displeasure in her tone. She saw no need to get upset over what a mere assistant said.Ariel did not look up as she continued to arrange and organize the reports that she needed to go through.Cassidy had the same smile plastered across her face. "Ms. Stanton, you should probably try to make an appointment first instead of asking Ms. Walker for an explanatio

Chapter 400

Yet, Nexura Solutions' ownership had been transferred and given to Ariel.Ariel had once again destroyed Nancy's hope!Ariel's eyes betrayed nothing as she tapped her finger on the document regarding the termination of the contract. She didn't answer Nancy's question."I'll give you two options, Ms. Stanton. The first option is that you sign this contract. The second option is to launch a civil lawsuit against Veyo Solutions for violating patent rights, even though Faye Tech has decided to drop the charges."When that happens, you won't just face situations like being forced to terminate the contracts. What do you think, Ms. Stanton?"Nancy's fingers curled into fists. She fixed Ariel's face with an icy gaze. She was feeling rather frustrated and exasperated.Nancy was well aware that Veyo Solutions could not afford to face another lawsuit. As for Ariel, she was simply taking it out on Nancy through work since things had not worked out with Jayson and she was jealous of Nancy.
