091. MONIQUE'S POV Why is Rose asking what's wrong? I hope she doesn't suspect a thing. Shit! I shouldn't have never gone near desmond, if I didn't that stupid accidental kiss wouldn't have happened. I hope my best friend can't tell I kissed her villainous, evil ex boyfriend. Stupid. Stupid stupid, they're like a million men that could pay me to kiss them, how did I end up kissing him? I knew meeting up with Desmond the third time was a mistake."Uhmm..." I sit beside her and gold her hands firmly. "I'm just so freskd up about everything that's been happening lately. Guess, what I'm saying is that I don't want you to get hurt, okay?" I nod, prompting her to do the same, which she does. That's better. I can't have her suspecting things because she's never going to find out. The kiss was totally accidental and it's gonna remain my secret. "So, you want to go to the station, get rest..." I look at her waiting for her response. I quickly add. "But you have to eat and shower first before

ROSE'S POV At this point, I can't be scared of making headlines. I mean, that's what I live for now. I insert the key in the ignition, press my foot on the throttle, and zoom off. I drive so fast, the news-hungry reporters jump off the road. I'm glad the plate number on Micah's car is covered; they won't easily trail me. I drive so fast, beating traffic and hooting like crazy. I blow air into the hoodie I have on. It's too hot; I shouldn't have worn a hoodie. The second I sight the Miami International Airport, I bring the car to a halt and jump out. The security guards at the entrance hold open the sliding glass door. I rush in. The cold air-conditioned airport is a direct contrast to the scorching heat outside. I don't have time to cool off. I start running to the airline check-in counter. I stop as people flash me odd looks. Travelers are slowly rolling suitcases, hostesses are carefully moving around in heels, and the intercom announcement is the only sound loudly heard through

ROSE'S POV I can feel the tension in the courtroom. I've waited two weeks for this day since judgment was given in Desmond's favor, but today, I'm sitting at the plaintiff table across from Desmond's lawyer. I don't feel as confident as I should. I turn slightly. The wooden benches are empty save for my family and best friend who are present."Ms. Rose, state your case."I jerk and turn to meet the judge's eyes peering at me through her glasses. I clench my fist tightly. Judge Rachel is an experienced woman in her late fifties and one of the judges our lawyer, Mr. Damien, trusts completely to serve justice.I gulp and rise to my feet. My fingers fidgeting. "Your honor. I am here today because my mother has fraudulently married me off to a man I do not love, Mr. Desmond Smith. My ex, who's a cheater and an abuser and whom I have no intention to marry. The marriage was forged without my consent, and I plead the court to declare the marriage annulled and my legal status restored."The

RYAN'S POV"I can't believe my mom would go this far to separate us.""Shhh..." I place my index finger on her lips to silence her. "Let's not dwell in the past. Look at the bright present." I trace my fingers along her curves. "You're here on top of me.""You sexualize everything." She covers her mouth with her palm as she laughs and lays on me, placing her head on my chest and tracing her fingers around my nipples. "How have you been?" She uses her free hand to throw the sheets over us. "I was so worried when I overheard Micah and Monique discussing you." She lifts her face slightly, staring at me. They didn't want me to know. Can you imagine that?""I trust you would go crazy if they let you on." I run my fingers across her smooth skin. "If it makes you feel better, Micah didn't fill me in on everything that was going on back home either. He only told me we lost the first hearing but are hoping to get a win on the appeal.""Yep." Her voice is tight. "Talking about things we were mea

ROSE'S POV"That was exciting." I breathe out, still resting my head on Ryan's chest, our naked bodies tangling together. It's a new day, but the scent of sex, the after glow, and the morning-after feeling are still strong as ever. I'm still seriously worried about how the nurses will clean this mess we've created, but more so, five orgasms and counting last night couldn't stop me from waking up horny. "When are we due to leave?" I ask, pressing my lips against his for a good morning kiss.He pulls me close and returns the kiss, his arms wrapped around me. "The doctor's still observing me to know how fully recovered I am, but I think last night's exertion, which left me feeling completely normal and not on the verge of death, is proof that I'm fine.""It's a shame she wasn't here to get her proof." I tease."And who said you can't stay to give her live proof, huh?"If there's one thing I love about Ryan, it's how he matches my sarcasm. But wait, I can't be here when the doctor arrives,
