LEAHThe paper is heavy in my hand and I’m still staring at it as I feel Queen Reyna’s eyes on me, her frame towering over mine.“You shouldn’t be going through my council papers, Leah.”Her voice is cool, but there’s a bite under it. I can feel the tension from the whole Vince situation radiating off of her. Goddess, a lot must be going through her head right now. Who knows if the council would even blame her for not being a competent leader? Because obviously, all they know how to do is point accusing fingers. Wait… am I getting worried for the Queen of all faes? Or am I worried about my mother. I shake the lingering question away from my mind as she takes the letter from me before I can even think about moving, slipping it into her desk drawer. “What was it?” I ask, my voice coming out sharper than I meant.“Nothing you need to concern yourself with, Leah. It's council business.” Her words land like a door slamming in my face. I swallow hard, my mouth dry. “Fine. I didn’t exactly

LUCIANShe kisses me deeper, and the rest turns into a blur made of heat and breath and our bodies moving where we need them to move. She keeps the pace, deciding when my mouth is here, when my hands are there, when I get more, when I have to wait. It kills me, but I don’t care. I’d die happy like this.“Mark me,” she whispers finally, her voice shaking, and her pupils blown wide. “But don’t cum yet.” She rules the word out like it offends her. “Hold it. For me.”I swallow hard, nodding, and pressing my forehead to hers because the room is spinning and I need an anchor. “Say you’re sure.”“I’m sure.” She pulls her hair aside, baring the place I’ve dreamt of sinking my teeth into since the first night she fell asleep on my chest. “Do it.”I don’t rush. I lay my mouth over that soft skin at the juncture of neck and shoulder and breathe her in until my lungs ache. Her fingers fist in my hair. I plant a kiss there once, then twice as I open my mouth.I feel Fenrir lifts his head. “Togethe

LEAHLucian is already halfway to the door, but my chest suddenly tightens. The thought of him walking out, leaving me with this restless storm inside, claws at me. Before I can stop myself, I grab his wrist, the bond pulling, and demanding. He turns to me, his brows furrowed. His lips are parted like he’s about to argue. But I don’t let him speak. I pull him down to me and crush my mouth against his.My insides light up like fire. His surprise lasts all of one heartbeat before he groans into the kiss and drags me more into him. His hand cups the back of my head, his other arm tight around my waist, pulling me flush against him like he wants to sink me inside his skin.Damn, it feels so good I hate how good it feels. Hate how fast my knees go weak. But the fire burns too sweet, too much, and I can’t stop. His mouth claims mine roughly, and with desperation. His lips taste like last night, when we marked each other, with blood, hunger, and need. I feel him everywhere, his Lycan, his p

LEAHThe halls are suddenly too quiet, too wide, and too empty. Just some moments ago, I was floating in the air, and the next minute I was falling again because I felt a sharp pain surge through my chest. I knew it was because of Lucian, he's in trouble. My footsteps echo across the marble floor as I pace, back and forth, my hands curling into fists at my sides. No matter how much I try to calm myself, I just can't. My heart refuses to slow hammering against my ribs like it wants to break free. I stop and press a hand over my chest, but that only makes it worse. Because it isn’t just my heartbeat, it’s Lucian's.I can feel him like he’s inside me. The way his pulse falters and then steadies, the way his breaths turn ragged. It's like a storm is roiling in his chest, bleeding into mine. His unease is mine now, his tension, under my skin. Damnit, it's suffocating.I squeeze my eyes shut, dragging in air, but it feels like drowning. Everything I see carries his scent and energy. Fuck, i

LUCIANA part of me almost vanishes as I watch life suddenly disappear from Leah’s eyes. Her scream was so loud, it was almost deafening. Her pain and fear surges through me as I feel life draining from her. I look around, the possessed wolves attacking me have dropped to the floor and are burnt by Leah's power. Wait… the fuck? She's using powers now?I rush to her and catch her before she hits the ground. She's limp in my arms, her head rolling against my chest, but her skin is still glowing faintly. Veins of silver light pulsing through her like fire under the surface, brightly.“Leah.” I shake her, my voice breaking. “Stay with me Leah, open your eyes.”Nothing. Fuck!I check her pulse and it's there, but faint. Good. Her breaths are shallow, and feel forced.. Fenrir howls inside me, thrashing, desperate. He wants to tear the world apart. He wants to keep her safe. He wants her alive, our mate. Our mate can't die saving us, hell no!“Lucian!” Theron’s voice snaps my head up. H
