Meeting Him

Chapter Five~sometimes, when fate senses you running from something, it plunges you right into it~KAI“Wow, your sister is a massive jerk.”We were currently arranging my things in my dorm. My roommates were yet to arrive so I had enough time to settle in. My parents refuted the idea of getting me my own private room. They wanted me to experience every single hardship possible. My dearest bodyguard, whose name she finally said was Evanna, but I had to call her Landon, the name on her license.“You can say that,” I snorted. After a whole hour of asking and coaxing, I finally explained my complicated family relationship to her. “How do you put up with her? I'm pretty sure I would have spiked her drink by now,” she said and my head snapped to her. She blinked. “Respectfully, of course.” A small laugh fell off my lips. In all twenty-one years of my life, this was the first time someone made me feel so… free. She didn't judge me. Or have any expectations of him. That said a lot for so

Training

Chapter Six~A predator watches. Observes it's prey as time passes to determine the best way to kill ~KAIHe turned around and my breath caught my throat. His torso was a huge contrast to his back. It was clean, toned and looked like something that was carved with a chisel. Except for the crest mark sitting beautiful at his waist. My eyes shamelessly wrecked through him, taking in every inch of his body that was outside the water. I should look away. I had no business checking him out like that. He was male. My gender. And a wizard at that. “Eyes up here, Princeling,” The silky voice drew my attention to back to those silver eyes. He tilted his head slightly, watching me with a confused, yet disdainful expression. He started walking towards the edge of the pool without even caring that with each step he took his lower body was coming in full sight. He rose from the water like something out of a myth, droplets cascading down his pale skin, tracing every line of muscle until they

Shame

Chapter Seven“Kai Amiayl.”My heart lurched. Seriously? Of all the people that could have gone first, it just had to be me, huh? Wasn't it a little too early to make a complete fool out of myself?“Step forward.”I obeyed, feet leaden, my chest so tight I could barely draw breath. The wooden staff in my hands felt heavier than iron. Across the pit a taller boy — broad-shouldered, eager — was already rolling his wrists, warming up.Somewhere behind him, Erys leaned lazily against the stone wall, one arm folded, still watching. Waiting. My throat went dry. I'm not sure why my eyes was always finding their way to him. I should be focused on this! The instructor barked, “Begin!”The boy lunged before I could even blink. I raised my staff, but my hands shook so badly the blow nearly knocked it from my grip. I staggered backwards, but thankfully didn't fall. Gasps rippled through the students. My face burned in embarrassment. I could already tell that they were talking about how weak and

Dinner

Chapter Eight~Rule 13 on survival MoonCrest. Never, ever, involve yourself in a fight that isn't yours. You never know when you may become the next prey~EVANNAWe were seated at the dining waiting for lunch to be served. Prince Kai was rather silent, reading theou a novel. I guess it was his comfort item. There was sudden a loud bang the hall that drew everyone's attention. The table was very far away but thanks to you wolf senses I could see exactly what was happening. That thing that slammed into the table was a witch. A witch on a table full of wolves amd their laughter echoed like it was really funny to slam someone into a table like that. “What happened, Patrick? Did you say you wanted to be friends with us? Do you think we're being too harsh on you?” one of the bigger wolves mocked, leaning over the boy like a predator with its prey.Patrick, the witch, scrambled back on his hands, eyes wide and glistening. His dark hair clung to his sweaty forehead, and he clutched at his to

A Crazy Plan

Chapter Nine~In the streets, greed and survival go hand in hand~EVANNA The entire dining hall buzzed with whispers, but I couldn’t hear a single word of it. My pulse was still hammering in my ears, my muscles tense like I was expecting the wolves to charge back in any second.Patrick was still on the floor, trembling, his chest rising and falling too fast. His eyes flicked from me to the doors, as though terrified they’d come back.“Get up,” I muttered quietly, offering him my hand.He flinched but took it, his palm clammy in mine. For someone who had just been humiliated in front of an entire school, he tried his best to stand tall, chin trembling as he wiped his wet face with the back of his sleeve.“Thank you,” he whispered.I gave a single nod, but before I could say more, I felt Kai’s gaze on me. Slowly, I turned back toward him.The book he’d been reading was still closed, untouched. He hadn’t moved from his seat. But I could see the happiness and relief dancing in those big

The Plan

Chapter TenEVANNAI snapped my open, staring into the darkness as a smirk graced my lips. My ears tried to pick up any sound in case I wasn't the only one awake at this hour. I doubted it but it was better safe than sorry. The room was silent, except for Kai’s soft breathing under his duvet. His hair stuck out in wild tufts across the pillow. The other two made no sound either as they slept but with how their bodies were limp in one position it was obvious they weren't conscious. Perfect.I swung my legs over the bed, my bare feet finding the cold floor with barely a sound. My fingers itched for the thrill. Patrick’s words still burned in the back of my mind, west wing, behind the old archives, a passage. I felt extremely excited, grinning from ear to ear with a slight dance to my steps. ‘You are unbelievable.’There she was. Eve, my forever whining conscience. I smirked as I tied my boots and grabbed the small dagger I kept tucked into my jacket.“Don’t start, wolfy,” I whispered

Pest

Chapter ElevenKAI“Hey.”I blinked awake, my eyes narrowing at the figure standing beside my bed, blurred a bit before she fully came into view. Evanna stood beside my bed with a wide smile on her face that I knew too well. I grunted, getting up from bed as I looked at her with curiosity. I studied her for a moment before clearing my throat to speak.“What did you do?” I asked immediately, my voice rough from sleep. She smirked. “Good morning to you too, your highness I'm at your service to protect you today.”Evanna was bubbly but not this bubblyI sat up, narrowing my eyes at her as it clicked. “You went looking for the treasury, didn’t you? Did you get caught? Are you in some sort of serious trouble now?”She looked away too fast, staring at everywhere but my face.I knew she had done something she shouldn't have. “No to all the questions you asked. Especially the first one. I was in the room all night, with you. You know, sleeping like a log or how the saying goes.” he smiled w

Threat

Chapter 12KAII held my books close to my chest as I walked to class. Evanna was put in another hall so we couldn't attend Weapon building together, which was the class I was heading for. I laughed under my breath remembering how whiny she was when she realised that we wouldn't have this particular class together and complaining about how I should take care of myself because I wouldn't be alive without herI snorted. I wasn't that week.Just as I was about to open the door, I saw his shadow at my feet before I saw him. It was the leader of the wolves that were bullying Patrick. His minions were far behind but for some reason, he had walked ahead of them, coming to my front and staring at me with disgust in his eyes. He then pushed me backwards and smirked, before pushing the door to the class open and walking in.What was his deal? I adjusted the books I held in my hands, making sure they didn't fall of slip when I entered the class too and I immediately regretted it when I did.

A friend?

Chapter 13KAI“Let me go.” I tried to get out but he froze, turned back to his minions and stared at them for a while before they burst out laughing again.Seriously, what was funny? His grip tightened the more as he faced me.“Let me go.”he mimicked me in a babyish voice and his friends started laughing stupidly again.I gritted my teeth trying to stand up for myself or at least make it seem like I could take care of myself when Evanna wasn't here. “You will regret this. Do you know my parents?” I let out and he opened his mouth in shock.“Oh no… your parents oh my goddess, your parents are going to find me and make life a living hell for me. I'm so scared, I cat even think straight, my legs are turnjbg to jelly.” he mocked the he stopped, slammed me against the door again, making it rattle that I began to fear that it would let out and I would fall, backwards in the hallways and further embarrass myself.“I don't give a bloody damn about your parents. You don't know mine either ad

The Hunt

Chapter 14KAI“What the hell happened to you? You've been sitting there quiet ever since you came in.” Evanna said, worry written all over her face. She was dabbing the cotton wool on my split lip and tending to me with care but it still stung.I sucked in a breath and let her continue to treat me but I didn't say anything. “So you're not going to talk?” she pressed on, but I didn't.I can't keep letting her fight all my battles for me even though that's what she's practically here for. “I just slammed my head against the wall. I couldn't see where I was going.” She stared at me for a second longer and I avoided her eyes. She sighed and went back to treating my cuts.I knew that she wouldn't believe me. That was a terrible lie. I didn't have a wolf but that doesn't mean I have terrible vision, plus I came back with torn books and clothes that weren't mine. That already spoke volumes of what had happened to me.I already felt terrible enough that I couldn't heal on my own since I d
