LUCIAN "Little bird!" Luke called just as we reached the palace vicinity, "Can we talk?""I'm running an errand," I replied, pointing to Cassandra, but she'd already disappeared."She was just here," I added weakly.Luke smiled, "I know you were running an errand for Seraphina, don't worry, she won't miss you. I want to take you somewhere. He added, opened his car door.I glanced back at the palace and back at him worriedly."Don't worry, we'll be back before anyone notices. Elias is a bit preoccupied, too, so it works,"I nodded, entering the car. "Where are we going?" "You'll see," he grinned, settling down in the driver's seat and driving off."Did you approach her purposely?" Luke asked, sneaking a glance at me. "Who? Seraphina? Goddess, no. Like I would ever."Luke laughed, "Not Seraphina, I meant Cassandra,""Oh.... No. Why would I approach her purposely?""Because she was Reine's maid? Didn't you know?"I sighed tiredly, "I just found out today. Just like Elias, she hates me

LUCIAN The next few days, I continued trying to talk to Cassandra since she was the closest to Reine but she wouldn't talk to me.She was still avoiding me.I was getting pissed and annoyed at the feeling of being rock bottom. I've stopped seeing Reine, even in my dreams and everyday, I try chanting soothing spells to help with her.Like these past days, I went to bed before Elias entered the room. But I'd barely laid down when he entered. I gave up on pretending to sleep and just laid on my bed, staring at the ceiling.Elias did the exact same thing. Laying on his back and staring at the ceiling. "Do you know how much trouble you've caused?" Elias asked.I sifted through my mind, wondering if I'd cause trouble anywhere.None came to mind except when Luke took me out and it doesn't seem like Elias knew."What trouble?" I replied carefully."Since you ran away, the Goddess hasn't picked out another Priest or Priestess Candidate." He answered. "Why?" I scoffed, "Because I ran a

LUCIAN When I opened my eyes, I found myself back in the room, Elias peering down at me in anger. "What the fuck was going through your head, going out late at night?" Elias snarled. I try standing up, but pain explodes all over my body. I glanced at Elias, looking for some sort of reaction from him. There was none.If anything, he looked even more pissed."Cassandra!" I called out.I'd passed out immediately, I had no idea if my attacker got to her too. "The girl that brought you back to the palace?" Elias asked, "She wouldn't say anything. Luke is currently torturing her for answers.""No... please no. She helped me. You can't torture her.""Care to explain where you've been?" Elias demanded.I pressed my lips together. How was I supposed to explain the incident. "Seraphina!" I blurted out, "She sent us both on an errand. I had to follow Cassandra, because it was dangerous.""You wanted to protect her when you can barely take care of yourself?""I did save her, ask her. A

LUCIAN The sound of rustling feet prancing outside the door made my heart grow more restless. The palace had not been the same since the announcement of the festival. Even the maids and servants seemed to have become more diligent in their duties like this damn party was going to be a reward for all their years of hard work. It was a jolly atmosphere. Would it make any difference if I attended or not? It's not like Elias would need me there anyway. I doubt he even wanted to see me after what happened between us the last time. Well, if that was the case, I'd better do myself some good and remain here until the feast is over anyway. It was a good thing I had the room all to myself. I wouldn't have to wear my eyes and ears out by watching the rest of the servants put in all their efforts for a party they would be disregarded at. Ughh! Everything sucked and I didn't know which sucked more. I lazily pulled myself from the chair I'd been sitting on, collapsing on my bed instead with

LUCIAN Silas grinned, forming kissy lips at me.My stomach recoiled in disgust and anger. How am I supposed to spend the night with someone who look like he still waiting for his mother's permission to do basic things in his life.I glanced back to Elias, he was still looking at me, as if daring me to openly go against him."I glare at him, showing my anger looked away.Silas came over and wrapped his sweaty hands around my wrists, leading me away, towards Seraphina. "Can we get a room?" Silas asked Seraphina who couldn’t stop grinning widely. "You are going to pay for this, I promise." I whispered to her."Come back when you have the upper hand." She winked, giving Silas a key to a room in a downtown hotel. "His Majesty will despise you even further."I turned back to Elias, he was still staring."Perform your duties well if you don't want to start a wat between two packs."I bit my lower lips in anger. There goes my plan to ditch the short man somewhere and knock him out.S
