A R I A N A Dante’s hand stayed firm on my waist as he led me through the crowded, his grip was tight, almost painful, like he was afraid I would disappear if he let go. The heat from his touch burned through the thin fabric of my dress making me uncomfortable. We stopped near a quiet corner, were we for less attention. Dante turned me to face him, his dark eyes sweeping over me from head to toe. His jaw clenched when his gaze landed on the low neckline of my dress. "Did you wear this dress to seduce every man here," he asked, his voice low and rough, "or did you actually come for business?" I lifted my chin, meeting his glare. "I’ll take that as a compliment." Dante’s fingers dug into my hip. "I don’t like people staring at what’s mine." I scoffed. "Yours? Last I checked, I signed a contract, you maybe my husband but only in the eyes of the people” I reminded. His eyes darkened, I knew I was playing with fire but I don’t care, he wasn’t going to make me feel belittled.
