Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Alpha's Ex-Con Human Nanny : Kabanata 181 - Kabanata 190

Mercedes’ povMy eyes slowly fluttered open and I took in my surroundings. Everything seemed foggy and hazy and my throat burned. What had happened to me? I racked my brain as I tried to remember what had happened but I began to feel a dull ache in my head instead.I groaned as I tried to sit up and pain erupted within me.“Hey, lie back.” a voice called out to me and hands gently guided me back onto the mattress.Bradley’s worried face came into view and he gently caressed my cheek.“How do you feel?” Bradley asked and I opened my mouth to speak but the words just wouldn’t come out. My throat was parched and I could feel the dryness off my lips.“I’ll get the pack doctor,” he told me before he left the room and I must have drifted off to sleep because the next time I woke up, Bradley was back with the pack doctor who checked my vitals and gave me some water to drink.

Bradley’s povMy hand hovered over the doorhandle for a second and a grin spread across my lips when I heard the children’s request. My heart warmed and I wished I could see Mercedes’ expression.I waited and strained my ears to hear her reply but she remained silent. She was no doubt overwhelmed. Her own children were asking if they could call her their mum. It was complicated but sweet.“I-i don’t know what to say. Did you discuss this with your father? What does he think?” she asked in a shaky voice and before I could think, I pulled open the door and stepped in.“I think it's a splendid idea.” I announced and Mercedes’ eyes held mine.“Did you put them up to this Bradley?” Mercedes asked and I held my hands up in surrender.“Trust me I'm just as surprised as you are but that only goes to show how smart our kids are.” I replied.‘Our kids’- I said the words intentionally and I saw the moment they registered for Mercedes.“Children, why don’t you go meet Mrs. Anderson in the kitchen

Bradley’s pov“We can teach you how to make the croissants, it’s what everyone loves during the bonfire.” one of the women told me as I stood to the side and watched them work.“You guys have a bonfire?” I asked with wide eyes. I felt movement by my legs and I looked down to Penelope who was clinging to my leg.“Hey ,you.” I muttered as I lifted her into my arms.“We have a bonfire every year. It’s something we do to bring pack members together.” the woman explained.“I guess I'll be in my room with the children?” I muttered with an awkward chuckle and the women around the kitchen looked at me sympathetically.‘Of course you are coming. The children are coming as well but you aren’t coming as their nanny, you are coming as one of us.” one of the women told me and my brows scrunched in confusion. “I know we got off the wrong foot

Mercedes’ pov“Bradley, slow down.” I chuckled as I took a step away from him but he clung to my hand desperately.“No. I made a mess of things and now I want to make it right.” he told me.“Bradley it’s fine, i-”“No it’s not fine Mer. I know I -”“Bradley, you aren’t listening to me and I need you to listen.” I cut him off as well. While I was flattered that he was this scared and distressed at the thought of losing me, he also needed to listen to me and understand the way I felt.Bradley finally fell silent and stared at me helplessly and I brushed his hand off my arm.“Your words hurt me Bradley, more than how you ignored me these last few weeks and I get that you are under a lot of stress but I don't want you shutting me out because of that.” I told him.“I want you to tell me if something is wrong, I want you to co

Mercedes’ pov“And they all lived happily ever after.” I whispered as I shut the book close and I looked up at the children. Penelope was long asleep while Carter battled to keep his eyes open.“Can you hold me?” he whispered just as I made to rise and my heart warmed. I scooped him into my arms and stared down at him with a small smile.“Go to sleep,” I urged him as he snuggled against me and let his eyes close.“I might not have known my mummy but I'm happy I know you Miss Mercedes. You are as good a mother as anyone else could be.” the boy in my arms mumbled sleepily and my heart warmed.I gently caressed his hair as he fell asleep in my arms and tears pricked the back of my eyes. How would I tell Bradley the truth and risk Chris hurting the children? I stifled a sob as I placed Carter back into bed and before I made my way out of the room.I had to find a way to tell Bradley wi
