As the first rays of sun rays peeked through the branches, Kyra snuggled deeper into the warmth while trying to avoid the bright light. Slowly she woke up and gathered her bearing. It took her a few seconds. When she finally gathered her thoughts, she was startled awake. She sat up so fast, that her head spun for a second. She scanned their surroundings. She was sleeping beside Kaiser using his hard chest as her pillow. After eating apples, she doesn't remember falling asleep. He glanced back at the man beside her, who was already watching her. "I am sorry, I fell asleep" she apologized. The situation they are in, sleeping is too risky. "No need to apologize, you were tired" he replied. His gaze looked guarded while he scanned their surroundings. He was keeping guard while she rested. He didn't wake her up. "I will stay guard. You are tired too. Try to sleep for a while" she suggested. He smiled then, tired, but still alert. "I am not sleepy. I noticed that these rogues ar

"Then become my queen" Kaiser proposed without missing a beat. Kyra was stunned to say the least. "What are you saying? Didn't I already explain that we are not meant to be? I am who i am and you are my ex-father-in-law. While at it just reject me and lets get it done with" she refused firmly. He narrowed his gaze and slowly moved into her personal space. "You being Dane's ex is not at all an issue. He is not my real son. I adopted him. Everyone knows that. For me, that doesn't seem like a big issue. Unless you are hiding something else" he placed both his hands on either side of her head, trapping her between his body and the wall behind her. After he lost his memories, this is the first time he is intentionally invading her personal space. But he liked it. Being close to her never felt like an ordeal. He can be himself and doesn't have to pretend. Infront of her, he doesn't feel like the king he is. He doesn't have to carry that weight with her. And it started to feel refresh

Kaiser was sleeping when he heard Enzo's voice in his head. He was startled awake which woke up Kyra who was sleeping beside him. If not for her fear regarding the rogues, she wouldn't have agreed to share a bed with him. He was amused when she reluctantly agreed to sleep beside him. They stripped off the old sheets and replaced them with different sheets from the closet, which were marginally fresh. 'Alpha' he heard Enzo's panicked tone. Kaiser was surprised. His eyes glazed over as he felt Enzo's presence close by through the pack link. But the connection felt strained, as they are too far away from their pack. 'Enzo?' he replied. 'Alpha? Are you safe? What about the queen? There are so many rogues here. Me and Adolf, we are surrounded. Where are you both?' Enzo sounded anxious. Kaiser glanced at Kyra, who was looking at him with her drowsy eyes. 'We are fine. Don't provoke the rogues. They are feral and their beast is in full control. I am sure even if I come to find you gu

"Enzo? Adolf?" Dale knocked on the car window. By the time he arrived, the sun was just rising on the horizon, but that's not what surprised him. Its the dozen or so rogues surrounding a familiar looking car. He took care of the rogues, only to find Enzo and Adolf dozing off inside their car. All the dozen or so rogues are now dead. Enzo and Adolf were startled awake when suddenly they heard a knock on the glass. Somewhere after the midnight, the rogues got bored and stopped smashing their car. That's when exhaustion and anxiety hit them before they drifted off to sleep unintentionally. But when a knock sounded again, they thought the rogues are back. "I never thought I would be this happy to see Dale" Enzo muttered feeling relieved and mentally drained from stress and anxiety. He is a half blooded Lycan. But still, two against a hundred rogues is still too much. No matter how fast he can fight, these rogues would have torn them limb to limb if they could break the glass. They bo

"Think about it. If you are with me, together we can dispel every traitor in the palace" Kaiser pointed out. Kyra is reluctant. Not only because she is afraid she might not be a better queen for him, but also because of who she is. What her birth represents. She couldn't tell him that she is a hybrid. But she couldn't say no either. He is right. With so many people in the palace whom Kaiser couldn't trust, he is not safe. Sharon drugged him so easily to make him forget about her. She can do anything. "My queen, please forgive our earlier unreasonable behavior which put you and the Alpha king in danger. But we only wanted you both to reconcile. Now the situation in the palace is so dire, I side with the Alpha king. Its not fair for him to sleep with one eye open. Apart from a trusted few, we don't know who among the palace warriors and maids are working for lady Sharon. You are already our queen. All you have to do is make it official. If you refuse, the council members will force t
