Semua Bab Wild Nights With My Brother's Ex-Best Friend: Bab 21 - Bab 30

NICOLEWalking into the charity's office makes me feel dizzy because it's so strange. For some reason, I feel like I don't belong in this place anymore. It feels too small. Too unfamiliar. I realize that it's because I've changed a hell of a lot in the last several days.It might seem impossible to truly change in such a short time, but it's happened.I get started on sending the invitations Haley created to everyone who's a part of Wings of Grace—people who have donated, participated in events before, and anyone else I can think of. Though the funds are still limited and practically nonexistent, I'm pretty confident and optimistic that I'll manage to make something great for everyone involved. And if this has to be the last event we ever host, then so be it. I've given this charity my all and I'm sure Ma would be proud of me. I'm sitting behind this laptop because of her—everything I've done so far is for her.I'm proud of that.Sometimes, I catch myself wondering what she'd think of

NICOLERoman strokes my back lazily as I lie with my head on his chest.I'm spent—my body will be sore tomorrow, I just know it. But the truth? I couldn't be happier.Being with Roman brings me this sense of peace. When he's not around, it's easy for me to think of all the terrible things that I'm going, like stabbing my own brother in the back. But when he's here, all these thoughts just fade away, disappearing into the back of my mind."When is it going to be like this every day?" he asks before kissing the top of my head."Did you leave your fiancée already?" I ask, hating how bitter I sound.Roman lets out a breath, then shifts so that we're face to face. "Of course, I left her already. The announcement is just going to take longer."I frown. "But I haven't even given you an answer yet.""Your body has," he claims before squeezing my left nipple between his fingers. "Come on, Nik. I know you're as crazy about me as I am about you. You can't lie to me. What will you do about your b

NICOLERoman's speeding down the road, one hand on the steering wheel and the other on my thigh. I'm pretty sure my new white lace panties are already damp."You're really not going to tell me where you're taking me?"Roman gives me a look that turns my nipples to pebbles. "Not unless I want to ruin the surprise, which I don't."My heart is beating impossibly fast. I know he has something wicked planned. I can just sense it. Am I going to like it? Probably. There's very little that he does that truly displeases me.It's like he and I are on the same wavelength all the time. When we were younger, I didn't realize how alike we were. God, if that hopelessly in love teen version of me could see me now, she'd freak out.Roman parks his car across the street from a normal-looking thick building sandwiched between a bakery and a boutique. I don't see any signs on it whatsoever and as we move closer to it, my hand in his, I can't help but ask, "Um. What's this place?""You'll see."His respon

NICOLEIt feels like Roman has been fucking me the whole night, but it's still early—it's only eight, and he has a thing to go to."I'm sorry, baby," he says against my skin as he combs his fingers through my hair. We're still on the bed, our legs tangled. "I wish I could stay here with you, or even take you with me. But it's just this boring, fuck ass meeting."I chuckle at his choice of words. He continues. "God knows how much I want to sleep after that. You're incredible, you know that? I've slept with countless women, but none of them hold a candle to you."Jealousy washes over me. I ask him, "Have you ever slept with someone in here? In this club, I mean? Like the people out there?""Of course," he responds before his gaze lands on my face. "I'm a wild soul, Nikki. Insatiable. At least, that was the case before you entered my life. Now, I'm all yours."I can't describe just what his words do to me. We share a few kisses, but I'm so spent that they just make my stomach flutter and

NICOLE"Nikki?"Roman's voice is low and urgent. I have to swallow the sobs forming in the back of my throat at the sound of his concern."Mason," I begin, my voice strained. "He's back home and things...we had a massive argument.""What did he say?""A whole bunch of nothing, as usual!" I exclaim before pressing my fingers to my brow bone. I focus on breathing deeply so I won't bawl my eyes out right now, but that's pretty hard to do. He called me a tramp. I can't believe he would say those words to me.My own brother."I have nowhere to go," I finally say. "I know a motel nearby and I was thinking of—""No, of course not," he interjects in the same tone. "I'm caught up in something right now, but I'll be there soon, alright? Where are you?""In my car. Outside his apartment.""Wait for me there, alright?" After a beat, he adds, "Are you hurt?""Not physically."A knock on my window makes me jump. I see Haley peering at me and I practically convulse with anger. Roman tells me once mo
