CHAPTER 117 The phone rang again, the screen lighting up with Indy’s name. Sandy glanced at it, then at Nikolai. “Take it. You don’t want her worried over you.” Nikolai stared at the screen for a beat, jaw tight. He answered, putting it on speaker so Sandy could hear. “Hey, sweetheart,” he said, voice low and even. “Hello, darling.” Indy’s voice came through warm, concerned, a little breathy. “Where are you?” “I went to see an old friend. Anything?” “Nothing much,” she said. “Just that I stopped by the office and you weren’t there. Then when I got home, I didn’t see you. I miss my sweetheart.
