Three Days LaterAfter watching the short, quick battle happening below me, I moved up and around the mountain, easily scaling the rock to get back to the crypt. The moment I stepped inside, I paused, running my eyes over his face, sighing when there weren’t any signs of life. I was ready to look into his eyes again. I longed to feel his lips on mine. I wanted to see his nostrils flare as he breathed in my scent. “Alek,” I whispered as I moved toward him, my heart aching for everything we had before he was stolen from me. “I miss you more than I can ever say.”I carefully climbed up onto the marble, once again, surprised by how warm it was, just like I had been every other night I had come up here to sleep.
