Adrian’s POV.God! How did this happen? Oh God! Will he tell my father about our meeting? Fuck, fuck, fuucckk!! He won’t, will he? Shit! How could this fucking happen? And what’s with him and Lee? That didn’t look like a small issue…but Lee won’t tell me. He never tells me anything. My mind had been jumping between our new contractor and my brother all day.I had a headache from it all, but my father had taken me to three consecutive meetings right after the contract got signed.I hadn’t gotten a moment to myself until we got back home an hour ago. It’s already midnight, and I can’t fucking sleep!I should call him, but… Jayden Malroy, I said the name in my mind for the hundredth time.He didn’t even look at me like he recognised me.Didn’t he recognise me?I saw his face in my mind’s eye when I had upped the offer to 500 million. My mind just went to

My father didn’t know what I did. He doesn’t know what I’ve become. And if he didn’t know me, then I couldn’t hate on Sir Sinclair for a second. Leon could very possibly be a saint in his father’s eyes, as I was a victim in my father’s own.I kept my expression neutral as I waited for my father, Alexander Malroy, to release me from his silent inspection. He did, and I sat back, inhaling slowly, using the china cup to hide my gritted teeth.“If anything feels off, shut it down,” my father said distantly.I gazed up at him. He was watching one of his yellow and green birds. Like you do? I mused. But I didn’t say it.“Understood,” I replied curtly. He turned to me, eyeing me again.I was looking at a red and blue bird that was flapping its wings. His lips twitched, but he pursed them again. I didn’t encourage him to speak. I knew he was upset. Knew he was being reminded of things he would rather never have known. I had be

It was Liam’s voice that had made me pull back, helped me center.I stared through the front windshield at the cars ahead.“I know…but…it’s like there’s a wall there, you know. Like a thick, fucking, barrier. One moment he’s hot, the next, he’s cold. It’s like…I don’t know…like he’s hiding his true face.”“All the more reason to give it time, Sir,” Liam replied smoothly. “You know your position. You can’t jump into things,” he continued quietly, repeating what he had said to me six years prior.I fell quiet. After a while, Liam spoke again.“Sir, who is it?” he asked calmly.I stared at his face. Liam had soft features, unlike Jayden. He was tan and blue-eyed, unlike Jayden. He was ripped and lean, like a jungle cat, unlike Jayden, who was fit alright, but nothing close to my driver and personal bodyguard – a part of his job description we never discussed.“I…,” I breathed, then stopped. “No one. Not yet. For now. He’s no one,” I said

It had been exciting for me at the time. I enjoyed watching him with his arms spread on the sofa as he leaned back, his cock pushing against his pants – even back then, Leon dressed like a sleek bastard. He never wore jeans or hoodies, like other college kids; always smart and mature, cool and pristine, in tailored pants, nothing less than khaki trousers, and formal long-sleeved shirts, no plaids, nothing less than branded polo shirts. No ordinary, plain T’s, unless it was under his actual top.My perfect senior. I loved it. I loved him. I believed in him. Trusted him.He had gotten a hotel. A nice one. I’d never been to a place that posh. We had started with room service dinner and a movie, and now, it was the hour.I don’t recall what time it was, but it was dark outside and even darker inside. I didn’t mind. I wasn’t sure whether or not I wanted lights anyway. That night, I had trembled as he undressed me with his eyes. Then again, as his finger

Clementine knew this. He also knew that I’d let him get away with it because he did me favors no one else could, because I knew as much about his secrets as he did about mine, making us forever even with each other, but mostly, because I needed him.I needed at least one person on earth who understood me, and accepted me.I hid nothing from Clementine. I didn’t have to. Ours was a bond of mutual hate. We drove each other mad for the pleasure of it.I knew he would come when his boys cried to their daddy. He was always soft toward tears, whereas I only pushed harder.I caught my breath, as he chided me.“Ah, ha, ha, ah, now that you’re done,” he gasped, “get the fuck outta here and make sure to tip the boys.”He rose to leave. I pulled him back, burying my face in his toned chest.“What? Baby want milk?” he snipped at the top of my head.I bit him.He slapped the back of my head.I stared up at him.“What?”
