XAVIERHe had threatened me with my inheritance for as long as I've lived, telling me that if he didn't have his way, I would lose it. For as long as I lived, I've believed it, thinking that I won't have a life outside of being an Alpha, thinking that if my father took it away from me, then I would find it hard in life. Not anymore. Not now when I'd found my other family members and I knew I wasn't alone. He could take it all for all I cared. After all, everything he had bought was on the tears and sweat and blood of others. There was nothing he had ever achieved without stepping on people in one way or another. And the fact that he thought that I would envy having all that and I getting nothing but the immense hatred the world had for him was beyond me. In my entire life, I have never driven so fast. It should have taken me about five hours to get to the city but with the speed I was going, it took about two. Esme and I had spoken again and she gave me directions to the hospita

XAVIER“Thanks for coming to get me.”He turned to me sharply. “You shouldn't even have been there in the first place! You're a Volkov! We don't get arrested! Why didn't you call for someone? Don't you have a lawyer? They shouldn't have been able to get you to the station!” He was raising his voice. I'm guessing the hate for police authorities ran strong in my family. Knowing our history, I wonder why. (Not really). “I’m sorry. They were already blowing things out of proportion and I didn't want them to think I was guilty and that's why I was making excuses. I just wanted it to be over quickly. How did you know I was there?”He pulled out his phone and gave it to me. It was a picture of me being escorted to the police car accompanied by police officers. “Someone sent that to me an hour ago. I don't know who it is.”I do. “Oh, and detective Callaghan didn't do anything. She's just trying to cover up for that ass, Larcen. He's the one you should deal with. Thanks for coming to ge

MIAThere was an empty feeling in me and I couldn't explain it. It was like I couldn't feel any emotion anymore. As my memory left, so did my heart. My dad came around, they had to call him since he was my guardian and my emergency contact. The fact that he was gushing over me and not giving me any space to breathe annoyed me but I stayed silent because I knew that he cared and he was just scared. He couldn't imagine losing me too. The look on his face everytime he looks at me breaks my heart. Maybe that was the first thing I was feeling. “Mia, do you want to eat something?”I shook my head, wanting to be left alone. Esme had gone home to freshen up and then she'd come back too. She wasn't getting any sleep. “I want to go to the roof, dad. Can you take me there?”“Of course, I'll get the nurses to bring a wheelchair around.”Before I could tell him that I didn't need a wheelchair, he was already out the door. When the hell would they release me so I could leave this place? Da

MIAWow. Picturing his bastard father in my head, I could tell that when it came to the men of this family, the genes were very strong and there was no fighting it. His uncle stood tall in the room, much more taller than Xavier, completely covering the door and everything that was behind him. He carried that same confidence that they all had but he was calm, collected, he lacked the harshness. “Are you adopted?”He burst out laughing. “Why would you ask that? Don't we look alike?” “No, not that. You're not a cunt like the other Volkovs. You don't have it in you.”For some reason, what I was saying was very funny because he kept laughing. “No, I'm not adopted. I'm the first son of my parents union. So I grew up under a different orientation. Xavier's mother made a mistake with him.”I didn't skip a beat. “The same way his father made a mistake with him.”Xavier looked at me, the emotions in his eyes feeling heavy on my skin. “His father surely didn't start well but I'm sure you

MIAThey'd finally let me go from that hell hole. As much as I got the fact that I had an excuse not to do anything, I didn't like being there and I really wanted to go home. My dad got an apartment in the city so that's where I went. “Esme, I can't thank you enough for your help. You've been more than a friend to her.”I didn't turn to look at them. I was too focused on the view from the window. “If she doesn't do it, who will? Madison?” Esme snorted. “She’d kill you quicker than anything else will. I need to get home but I'll be back with your notes and I'll try to talk to the professors for you. I don't know if there's a way they could help out but they need to.”Or my dad will just do it. I wasn't going to be able to catch up on all my notes for the semester. My arm was still in a cast and I'd gotten a kit to change the bandage on my head everyday along with some drugs and weekly check up. “Are you okay? Is there anything you want?”“No dad, I'm fine. Thank you for being
