Each step was silent, precise, guided by orders spoken in a near-inaudible whisper and the killer instinct of the warriors hand-picked by the Alpha."Tactical formation, claw pattern. Advance to the rock. Two scouts forward," Cael ordered in a low voice, using the communication channel of the implant in his ear."Copy," Jarek replied right behind him. His eyes were focused, pupils dilated, senses sharpened like a beast about to hunt. The outpost targeted that night was one of the Bloodclaw Pack's storage points, used to hold weapons, supplies, and, according to scouts, also captured wolves. The same structure where Aurora had possibly been held before her escape.Cael crouched behind a rock formation. Before them, just a few meters away, containers and metal structures rose amidst the woods. There were sentinels on high points, armed and alert. Human guard dogs and wolves alternated in vigilance shifts."Jarek, Plan B. The ground is too lit. The sniper takes the one in the tower. The

"I'm ready."Jared threw her to the ground five times in a row, each fall a lesson. But Aurora got up each time, wiping the blood from her lip with her sleeve, her pride intact."You're not made of glass, Aurora," he said after another sequence. "You're starting to make me think there's Alpha blood in there."She smiled, panting."I don't want to be an Alpha. I just never want to feel powerless again."Jared looked at her with genuine respect."That's nobler than just wanting power."From a distance, Cael descended the balcony steps and walked to the clearing."How is she?" he asked, without taking his eyes off her."Tough, stubborn, and hungry for justice. Like your Luna should be."Cael approached Aurora and gently held her chin, examining the small cut on her lip."Does it hurt?""A little," she replied, not breaking his gaze. "But I'm fine.""Are you sure you want to continue?""I want to fight, Cael. I want, if he ever shows up again, for me to be ready. For him to see I'm no lon

They remained embraced under the trees for long minutes, in silence. There was no hurry. The world might still be at war, Lucian still represented a threat... but there, in that clearing bathed in morning light, time seemed suspended. Aurora's heart beat against Cael's bare chest, no longer racing from fear, but from the secure warmth of being with him.Cael didn't say anything. He just held her. With one hand, he slowly stroked her back. His touch was firm, yet careful, as if he recognized all the cracks that existed within her and wanted to seal them with patience and tenderness. His other hand rested on the nape of Aurora's neck, his fingers tangled in the silken strands of her hair. That gesture, simple and intimate, was a silent promise: he would protect her. He would choose her. Always.Aurora let herself sink into that silence. She smelled his skin, felt the heat of his body, heard the steady sound of his breathing. Her eyes closed for a moment, and images came: not the shadows

The sound of footsteps echoed in the corridor, shattering the moment. Jared appeared at the door, his forehead sweaty, his breathing controlled."Alpha. The invaders are in the cells. We've bound their claws with silver and nullified any spells with the circle of salt and dragon's blood. They're stable... for now.""Excellent," Cael replied, without taking his eyes off Aurora. "We will begin the interrogation at nightfall."Jared hesitated."There's more. One of them carried a sealed letter. With the Bloodclaw crest."Cael narrowed his eyes."A letter?""Yes. It's in your study, intact. It has your name. Only yours."Cael growled low. Aurora's chest tightened. A personal letter, from Lucian?"He is starting a war game," the Alpha said in a somber tone. "And he wants me to know it."Aurora reached out, instinctively grabbing his arm."Cael… what are you going to do?"He held her hand in return, his fingers interlacing with hers."I'm going to show him he messed with the wrong she-wolf.

She laughed, nibbling her lower lip, and he couldn't resist. He turned her with a firm motion and sat her on his lap, their bodies molding together as if made for each other. He kissed her intensely, his tongue dancing with hers while his hands explored every curve, as he undressed her.Cael entered her slowly, with reverence, and they both gasped at the same time. It was different now. It wasn't just desire."You are mine, Aurora," he murmured against her mouth. "My mate. My Luna. My life."She gripped his shoulders, digging her nails into his skin as she began to move in a hypnotic sway. She received him with closed eyes and parted lips, her body responding to every thrust with soft, desperate moans. The heat between them grew. Cael looked at her as if he had never seen anything so beautiful, and Aurora surrendered without fear, with an open heart and a body in flames."Don't stop…" she whispered, panting. "I need you, Cael…"He stood up with her in his lap, accelerated his movement
