Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Devil's Scars (The Road Devils Motorcycle Club 1): Kabanata 1 - Kabanata 10

“No big shock there,” Zoe said wryly. “The Road Devils MC has always run drugs, and been big into the illegal strip clubs. When you shut all that down and left the world of the one-percenters, you really thought everyone would be thrilled with the loss of income?”“No, of course not. I was expectin’ push-back from the two or three older guys and some of the more fringe members. Guys who were loyal as hell to Wheels and the crime scene.” Wolf exhaled, hard. “I just didn’t expect things to drag on this long.”“What’s really going on, Wolf? Spit it out.”“Lots of members leavin’,” Wolf said quietly. “Last month, one guy – Dawson Kinney – started a whole new club called The Blood Crew behind my back. Took over a dozen guys with him. Fuckin’ blindsided me, baby girl. Never saw it comin’ at all.”That shocked Zoe, and she sat up straighter, not even pissed that Wolf had waited until she was here in person to tell her this part: this was a big goddamn deal, the kind of info that was passed on

“OK,” she said softly.“Anythin’ else, Zee?”“That’ll do for now.” She stood up, peeled off her jean jacket. Wolf eyed her full breasts in her tank top with automatic male appreciation, and she huffed at him. “Eyes off the girls, Connor.”“Sorry.” He grinned, charming as hell, decided to tease her a bit now that some of the tension had passed. “Can’t help it. You’re a hot piece.”“Urgh. Really?” Zoe put her hands on her curvy hips, and he grinned again at the endearingly familiar stance: she was raring up to hand him his balls, just like she’d done for the past two decades. “You fucking sexist dickhead. Call me that again and I’ll call you nothing but ‘Calvin’ and I’ll make a point of doing it in front of the guys and your slavering hordes of women.”He shuddered at his civilian name that he’d tried hard to forget. Who the hell named their kid ‘Calvin Connor’? “Fuck. OK, deal. No more comments aloud about your sexiness. I’ll just keep my thoughts to myself.”“Good plan. You’ll live lo

Scars disconnected and threw the phone on the mattress. He knew he should get some more sleep, but he was one of those people that when he was awake, he was awake. Still, though – he hadn’t hit the bed until five o’clock, and he could definitely use another three hours. He got to his feet, ambled over to the coffee machine. He puzzled over the fucking knobs and buttons for a while – fancy-ass shit in this hotel, man – and after consulting the goddamn instructions, he finally figured out that the capsule thing went inside the top. He shut the lid, gingerly pressed a few buttons, remembered to actually stick the damn cup under the spout just in time. He was gratified when the coffee started to pour and he inhaled, starting to feel semi-human again. As he waited for the coffee to finish, he hit the bathroom. He used the toilet, stared at himself in the mirror. Yeah, he looked pretty bad: his brown hair was standing up on end, his blue eyes were tired and bloodshot. And that was all befor

Wolf's eyes flared. “No, they weren’t, and he sure as shit wasn’t. We may have all been Road Devils, but no way I’d ever call a woman-beater or rapist my brother. You know that, baby girl.”She looked away, focused on the Rocky Mountains in the distance. God, she’d missed them, she realized now. She loved those mountains with every piece of her being; the soaring peaks and craggy faces were the landscapes of her childhood. It was high time to reclaim them, she knew. “Zee?” He leaned forward. “Hey, look at me.”She forced herself to meet those hard eyes.“Never again does anyone touch you like that.” He spoke quietly, forcefully. “I just won’t allow it. No woman gets hit or hurt on my watch – it just ain’t gonna happen. Anythin’ that goes on with us and the ladies in the club and bar back rooms ain’t nobody’s business, if she wants to be there. But the second a woman is in over her head in my club or bar, someone steps in to help. Me, or Scars, or one of the other guys. That’s the dea

Silver Bennett stood with his arms crossed and watched Zoe poke around his house. Wolf had made it clear that she was off-limits and that was nothing but a damn shame, seeing as the woman was something else. Long blonde hair, eyes like brilliant emeralds, tall for a woman and curvy in all the right places, gorgeous fucking ink on her lower back exposed by that midriff-baring tank top. Made him want to explore, and see if she had any more ink anywhere else. Zee’s face wasn’t classically beautiful, he had to admit, but there was something about her that made it hard to stop watching her. She had some kind of inner light, a strength and confidence to her movements that caught his attention and then held it. She used her hands when she talked, which he liked, and she seemed totally unaware of her own good looks, which he loved. On the whole, Zee Parish was a babe, and Silver just knew that if Wolf hadn’t warned every single one of the boys off her, they’d be lining up to get into those t
