Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Luna He Can’t Have: Kabanata 131 - Kabanata 140

Sensing this might be a trick, I halt far enough away from Jeremy that he can’t grab me, and lay on the floor, my chin resting on my front paws.“Come closer, sweet. I’d like to pet you.”I narrow my eyes in suspicion. Yet when he turns his head to me, there’s no smirk, no smile in his eyes. He’s perfectly serious, and that’s what convinces me this is no trap, no trick.I rise and move closer, close enough for him to bury his hands in my fur.“Even as a wolf, you’re beautiful. Soft golden fur. Pretty tail.”At his attempt to grab my tail, I growl, but it’s playful rather than aggressive.Pervert.“Hey, it’s not my fault my wolf likes your tail,” Jeremy says, a smile touching his lips.He closes his eyes and goes back to stroking my fur as I sink beside him and try not to purr. We wolves don’t purr but my God, do I want to at the firm but insistent pressure of his hand stroking me in all the right places.“You’re a famous model. Jackson and I are lone wolves who never fit in anywhere,

“Jeremy, when you said you’d help me fight my nightmares, this isn’t exactly what I thought you had in mind,” I say, handing Jeremy the screwdriver he requested.“I think it’s helping,” he says, studying the instructions for the Ikea dresser he’s building. “I mean, what could be a better distraction from nightmares than tackling Ikea furniture.”He’s not wrong there. In the two weeks since I broke down and finally told Jeremy about Owen, we’ve been settling into an apartment in Dawley, a rental for now, while we figure out what we want to do.Jeremy admitted that he’d packed up his apartment in Chicago and put everything in storage here weeks before, when he tracked me down.Apparently, there are more blonde models called Savannah and more modelling agencies than I could ever imagine. Certainly, more than he’d ever thought. In the thousands he told me. After he had, the rest was easy, since the number of blonde models called Savannah who were shifters, numbered one.Even though we’re

By the time I realize that running from an alpha isn’t the best idea I’ve ever had, it’s far too late for me to do anything except continue sprinting through the Dawley-Stone pack forest. From the shout that went up behind me once I took off, I’m not stupid enough to believe that the alpha of this brand-new pack, Jackson Stone, isn’t right this second in full pursuit. So, I put my head down, watch for any vines, roots, or anything that looks like it’ll trip me, and I run for my life.I’m under no illusions about what will happen if Jackson catches up to me, and I have no intention of letting it.All I need to do is open a big enough distance between us, shift, then I can continue the rest of the way to the rental beside the Dawley National Forest on four legs instead of two.Once I’m there, I’m home dry since it’ll be a few minutes to grab my bag and get the hell out of Dawley by any means necessary. For the first ten minutes, I’m so tense, expecting a wolf, or the six-foot-plus-plus

Savannah clears her throat.“So, you and Jackson…”At the smug note in Savannah’s voice, I turn to glare at her as I brush leaves and twigs out of my hair.“Shut it, you.”“Does that mean you’re not going to be giving us the lowdown dirty?”Her voice is so innocent, I glare even harder.“You just couldn’t help yourself, could you?”Savannah doesn’t even try to look sorry as she hooks my arm.“Nope. Been counting down the seconds.”I try to pull my arm free, but she holds on tight, and then Talis hooks my other arm.“So, spill. I didn’t think you guys knew each other, but from the way you were grinding—”I shush her as I whip my head around to see if Jackson, Dayne, or Jeremy heard.Behind us, as we trudge back through the forest and to the BBQ we should be having, my eyes lock with Jackson, who's still naked, and his eyes heat.Yep, he definitely heard.I jerk my head back to the front, but I’m sure I can still feel his gaze on my back.“It was just a… thing. That’s all. There’s nothi

of my ear, making me whimper.“Jackson,” I breathe his name.“Do you have other fruit panties? I liked the cherry but I’m partial to the taste of strawberry.”At the thought of Jackson’s mouth anywhere near my panties, my arousal spikes, and I shift against him, wanting him but knowing the second I give in, then I’m stuck here. Because if I sleep with Jackson, I don’t see him just letting me walk away. Any other wolf might, but not an alpha. Not Jackson.“And if I’m already with someone?” I murmur as he strokes a large hand up and down my side.He kisses the corner of my mouth.“Then they haven’t been giving you what you need,” he says without hesitation.“And you think this why?”“Because you can only get it from me.”Wow. The arrogance is unreal.“Maybe they have. Maybe it’s you who doesn’t know what I need.”When Jackson grinds his cock against me, I draw in a deep breath and hold it, knowing I can’t hold it for long. He does it again, and this time I can’t stop the moan that slips
