Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Luna He Can’t Have: Kabanata 81 - Kabanata 90

Tali's POV The sound of a muffled argument from right outside my door wakes me.It sounds like it’s the whole pack having a whispered argument that Luka keeps shushing, which has me rising from the bed and grabbing one of Dayne’s t-shirts before padding to the door. After I pull the door open, I stare at the pack frantically whispering to each other in the hallway.“Uh, is everything okay?”Regan throws herself at me, and I stumble back into the bedroom from the force of her hug.“Uh?”“You’re okay,” Regan murmurs with her face pressed against my neck. “Dayne said to let you sleep, but I just wanted to know you were okay, and you are.”She peels her face away and studies me closely. “You don’t look as bruised as you did before.”“Thanks?” I mutter. “Now, what’s going on, and where is Dayne?”But when everyone goes silent, I realize something has happened.“What?” My stomach tightens with tension. Something is wrong. Something has happened, and it has to do with Dayne. “What is it? Te

Tali's POV At the sight of a glass of water entering my line of vision, I tiredly peel my cheek off the toilet seat and smile gratefully at Savannah, who’s sat with her back against the wall.“Thanks,” I murmur, taking it from her and using it to gargle before spitting in the toilet.“No worries. How are you feeling?”“Like death,” I admit, shuffling back so I’m pressed against the bathtub and she’s opposite me.Savannah nods. “Yeah, you don’t look the best.”“And dinner was so nice,” I moan, “even if I knew I shouldn’t have eaten so much of it.”I knew it even as I pretty much bullied Dayne into giving me some of his food as well. But I hadn’t expected him to share since I’ve seen what happens when shifters steal food off each other’s plates and the results aren’t pretty. While I’m glad she’s brought me water, I can’t help but wonder that she’s the one in here with me since I’d have expected it to be Regan or even Luka. For a moment, we fall into an awkward silence, before I clear m

And if the man didn’t, then the wolf inside him would know he had death waiting for him on the other side of this door.“When I get out of here, there won’t be enough pieces of you to form a man,” Dayne said mildly. “Or maybe, I’ll just tear you apart with my bare hands.”There was silence on the other side of the door.Glynn would be thinking of what he’d done to his previous alpha.Owen hadn’t deserved a quick death after what he’d done to his family, and that’s exactly what his wolf would have given him.“Hmm,” Glynn said as if Dayne couldn’t smell his fear. “All of this proves it’s best you remain here while I deal with your pack. I believe your beta might be more willing to give me what I want when I start sending pieces of you.”“The problem with that,” Dayne said, letting Glynn hear the smile in his voice. “Is that first, you’re going to have to open the door.”He waited to hear how Glynn would respond, but the sound of someone rushing up the stairs put a stop to whatever Glynn

I let them hear the truth of my words and see it in my face. This isn’t my enraged wolf talking. This is both a threat and a promise.“And your wolf?” Hallee asks softly. “She isn’t going to—”I shake my head.“No. In this, we’re united. None of you have anything to fear.”Even though I don’t meet Savannah’s eyes, I catch sight of some of the pack glancing in her direction.Savannah tosses her cushion to one side and rises from the couch.“You can’t put yourself in unnecessary danger because Dayne will only blame us for it, not you.”I consider her for a moment, and I know her words are coming from a place of love, so I agree,“Okay, I understand. But that doesn’t mean I’m hiding at the back. Uh, no offense to anyone in the back.”There’s a splutter of laughter at this.“Since it’s always me,” Hallee mutters, “I guess it’s okay.”“Right, if that’s all?” Without waiting for a response, Savannah starts for the door. “Let’s go bring Dayne home.”“Hey!” I hurry to catch up to her. “That’s

Tali's POV Two seconds after I spot Uncle Glynn disappearing into the trees and decide to follow him, I realize I’m doing exactly what I warned everyone else in the pack not to.With everyone busy fighting their own battles, it’s up to me to stop him because everything is screaming at me that if I let him leave, he’ll only be back to target us—or rather me—another day.I can’t let that happen. What if he targets mine and Dayne’s baby next? No. I have to stop him.But before I take off after him, I try to catch Luka’s eyes so at least someone knows where I’ve gone, since Savannah is right in that Dayne will blame the rest of the pack if something happens to me.With him busy fighting off a double attack, I hesitate about going to help him, but then I shake my head. Uncle Glynn is the bigger threat, and Luka has the rest of the pack close by for help if he needs it.I manage to catch Luka’s eye and tilt my head in the direction I’m going, and although I can see he isn’t happy about wha
