Lucille’s pov The interview was over, and I ran like a wild beast to my car, heading straight to the meeting spot. I checked my phone countless times to track the time, but no matter how fast I moved, I was still late. A meeting that was supposed to hold by 3 p.m., and it was already 6. I drove as fast as I could, trying to make it on time. Everywhere I looked, I could see clips from the interview playing on billboards all over town, even on the outskirts where I had scheduled our meeting. Deep down, I hoped she hadn’t seen it. Because how was I supposed to defend myself after everything I had said in that interview? I just wanted one thing, to fix things with my Ella. My phone kept buzzing nonstop, but I ignored every call. I didn’t even care who was calling. When I finally got to the restaurant, she wasn’t there, just like I had expected. I walked up to the bartender and described her. He immediately knew who I was talking about. “Yeah, yeah… she sat over there.” He pointe

Lucille’s pov I knew she was angry and bitter, but that stunt, that was too big even for her hate for me, well, guess I underestimated the rate of rage boiling in her heart for me. I followed Patrick like a humble lamb with my hands and legs trembling, that was a close one. What would have happened if he didn’t step into the scene, what would she have done? Tell everyone that I was familiar with the strippers? Tell the world we all had a thing once? Make them talk about our little escapades? Jesus!! what was really going on her mind? I couldn’t quite recover from that scene. He gave me a bottle, but I couldn’t drink, infact the celebration had ceased to me. I was shaking in my boots, I couldn’t let things go wrong, I held the bottle tight not taking a sip, I needed clear eyes in case she tries to pull another stunt. She walked into the house, my instinct was right, she is never laying off, the battle continues. The room cheered for her and praised her, she really lit up the room,

Marcella’s pov I was mad at her sure, but there was something about her that I couldn’t quite understand, the way she controlled me, bending to her will. I had a plan to ruin her and damn the consequences, besides I’ll be telling my truth too and it seemed like a good thing for me, my heart had turn dark, I’ll do this today and face my demons tomorrow, blackmail is something common in our society. I shouldn’t be surprised if I was a target, given my family status I should have expected it sooner. But now it seemed she had outsmarted me in my own game, the way she hit Patrick, it looked so real like an intentional act. I didn’t know why she did it, if she did it to defend me or just to silence me…I couldn’t read her actions. I had promised myself to be stubborn and deafen my heart to her power of compulsion but she won me over again, pulling me like a spell bound slave into her car as we zoomed off. I was silent for a while but as the ride was getting longer, it felt like her spell

Marcella’s pov. I walked away in pain. The anger that once engulfed my heart vanished, I didn’t feel the need to expose her anymore, to tell the world her truth. Perhaps that’s what my heart needed. To voice it out, to tell her how she made me feel. Maybe that was it, that rage that made me hungry for revenge, to make her cry, to tell the world about her had vanished. Now I felt free of the shame and anger. I took a deep breath as I walked out of sight. Break up happens, we do not always end up with people we hold dear to our hearts. That’s life. But I’m glad I shared some experience with her, she was my first. Now all that’s left of us, are memories trapped in my heart, a love I can’t touch? how can I burn all these memories in ashes? I tried to console myself as I walked away. Trying to book an Uber to leave. Thank goodness there was internet access in that place, it wasn’t too far from town so yeah, we were very lucky, I looked at the car and how damaged it was, the accident was

Marcella’s pov Now I understand her, now I understand Lucille, I was so mad at her in the beginning, the way she made me play with other girls, but most especially the words she said at the interview, it made me feel invisible, but after our talk, the way she explained everything, I was taken to her world, made to understand the choices she made and why she made them. I couldn’t blame her for being silent, for hiding, but one can only be silent for so long. The black mail… the memory came as shock waves. I had to tell her about it, the blackmail, since we’ve made out, it’s only right I tell her the truth. She looked at me with so much question in her eyes. I still had the note in my back pocket, I handed it to her. She read it silently, not saying a word. “Some guy came to me with this note, he met me at a campus meeting…..” I looked at her hoping she was listening , “he didn’t quite say his name…. just handed me the note and that was it”. I looked at her expecting a wild reacti
