HELENA’S POVTwo days after my arrival at the Royal Ville Mansion, I was still settling in - according to my stepfather - when my mother banged on the door furiously. I flickered my eyelashes open, only to see it was just six in the morning.“What do you want?” I asked her the second I flung the door open.“Your brothers started their morning exercise already. Go and join them.” She instructed. At the mention of my step brothers, my cheeks burned. However, I wasn’t ready to torture myself so early in the morninf. If they were working out, it was because they needed the abs and muscles. I wanted nothing to do with that so there was no reason to torture myself.“Thank you for the offer, but I am not interested,” I told my mother. I turned away, ready to turn on my heels. She grabbed my ears, stopping my escape.“If you want to be a member of this family, you need to get fit like them.” Her eyes appraised me slowly. “You can’t be a size 16 and be happy.” She protested.I looked down at my

His lips lingered on my closed eyelids a second longer than necessary, the warmth of his mouth seeping into my skin like a slow-burning promise. When he finally pulled back—just an inch, barely enough for me to breathe—our eyes locked. No words. No awkward laugh to break the tension. Just the soft rasp of our breathing in the small study room and the distant hum of the library’s HVAC system somewhere above the ceiling tiles. My hands moved first. I reached across the table, fingers curling into the front of his hoodie, tugging him closer. He came willingly, sliding around the table until he was standing between my knees. The chair I was in creaked as I tilted my head up.Our mouths met—tentative at first, testing, tasting salt from my earlier tears. Then deeper. Hungrier. His tongue brushed mine and I made a small, involuntary sound against his lips. His hands framed my face again, thumbs stroking my jaw, tilting me exactly where he wanted me.I slid my palms up under his hoodie, find

I decided not to go.I stared at the folded paper on my nightstand until the numbers blurred, then shoved it into the back of my desk drawer under old receipts and broken pens. I told myself it was smart. Responsible. That whatever happened in the library was a one-time lapse—tears, adrenaline, loneliness making me reckless. I showered until the water ran cold, changed into sweats, ate cold chicken standing over the sink while Mom and Dad talked about weekend plans I barely heard. I scrolled TikTok in bed until my eyes burned, forcing my mind anywhere but Ethan’s apartment, anywhere but the memory of his tongue and the way my body had shattered under it.I didn’t text him.I didn’t go.Sleep came in fragments, restless and hot. When the alarm went off at 7:30, I felt hungover without the alcohol—body heavy, mind foggy, a dull ache between my legs that hadn’t quite faded. The next day dragged through lectures and lunch I barely tasted. By four o’clock I was back in the third-floor stud

Elaine's POV."Lysander!" I called, my voice two pitch louder than it usually was. "Lusander!!" I yelled again when there was no response.A loud hiss escaped my throat, my chest tightened. My knuckles whitened as I clenched the small paper in my hand."Ly—" I began, ready to yell at the top of my lungs."Yes, missy?" My bodyguard, Lysander, answered from the doorway, his body—naked and hot abd sweaty—partially hidden from my view by the half opened door. He wiped the sweat cresting his forehead away before he stepped inside. I swallowed hard as my eyes lapped his broad his broad chest and muscled abs up, eating every inch of his naked body. Hid torso clenched and unbleached with each raised breathing he took. I took a step forward, my mouth ready to devor his body as my body shattered in sweet awareness of him. I wanted to tangle between sheets with him. I wanted to wrap my arms around his back as he stroked his cock in me slowly, tearing away at every restrain I try to put up in c

The next two hours went in a hazy breeze. After Agent Milka cleaned me up, reassured me, and helped me settle on the sofa—the only thing in the living room not stained with blood—the corpses were cleaned out. I gagged once or twice during that time, especially when I saw a knife embedded in the eye of one of the dead men, but I sat still."Anyway to identify who the MoF works for?" Lysander asked. Agent Mikael shook his head in the negative, dampening my hope all together. "But we will run a scale search over them. We can also especially see if their fingerprints can give us something to start the search with. Agent Mikael shook his head slowly.“No identification yet,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck. “But we will run everything through the system. Fingerprints, facial scans, all of it.”I hugged my arms around myself. The living room felt different now.Not like my home. Not like the place where I had laughed at stupid movies and danced barefoot on the rug when Lysander pre
