HER PRICELESS SMILE

LUCATonight was supposed to be an explosive night in Pandemonium. Unfortunately, I was too busy to attend.Right on my desk were data I had to sort out before focusing my attention on something else.I was neck deep in work when my phone buzzed. My first instinct was to ignore it because I remember clearly telling everyone that cared to listen I would be too busy with work to give them a listening ear.But curiosity got a hold of me. After all, it had to be something important for my orders to be disposed of.I picked up the phone, and flicked through the screen. My heart dropped when a picture spread across my screen. A picture of Olivia on her knees, Rhys dick deep in her throat. That wasn't just all. A little scroll and I found a video. My breath sharpened when I saw what the video was about.Olivia laid on her stomach as Rhys pounded her.But what caught my attention the most was the dress she was putting on.A brief investigation with my thoughts, brought me a flashback of just

HALLUCINATIONS

MIAMs Bird cager had told me not to expect the devil tonight because he would be no show.I hadn't seen him for like three days. I was happy at first. And then I started to wonder about his whereabouts- subconsciously though.Imagine my surprise seeing him tonight, seated at his favourite position, staring at me.The smile I let out was reflexive. I hadn't meant to. Part of me was grateful to him in a sense. Ms Bird cager finally gave me my new card, and bank details.Mr peacock told me to request for a phone next so I could track my earnings.Every time I thought about asking the devil for a phone, I felt a bite at the pit of my stomach. It would go dangerously wrong. I already knew it would. Yet the thrill of the temptation was so great, I didn't mind it.The devil didn't stay long. As quick as he came, he was gone. But Lev Oleg replaced him just as fast. And by the time my night was over and I went backstage, he was there- Lev.“You were excellent tonight as usual,” he said, wal

INHIBITED

“Are you okay, Mia?” Peach asked, leading Mia to the restroom. She didn't respond. She was too out of it to form a response.“What happened back there? You were talking to yourself quite loudly. Who were you asking to leave you alone?”They made it into the restroom and Mia went straight into a stall.“You know you being silent won't stop me from asking right? I'll just keep on asking.”Mia flushed, and stepped out to rinse off her hands.“Mia?”She whirled in frustration. “I can hear you, okay? Nothing happened. It's just alcohol. I told you I don't hold down alcohol properly, yeah? Well this is why!”“Oh,” her shoulders fell. “I'm sorry. I didn't know.”“No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't be screaming at you because I can't handle my alcohol. Forgive me?”Peach forced a smile. “It's fine. Do you want to return to the bar?”“Actually, I'd rather just retire for the night. I'm tired.”Peach gave her a double stare, and then sighed in resignation. There was clearly nothing she could do to help

DRUNKEN DISCUSSIONS

“No, I can't kiss you,” Mia shook her head. “You can't kiss me either,” she whispered.“Don't be a wimp,” he groaned childishly, his steps faltering a little bit.“I'm not being a wimp. It's called being morally sensible.”Easily sidestepping him, Mia moved over to the bed and plopped on it.“Ugh!” He walked over to the bed too and sat beside her. “You want to see something? So you see I'm not lying?”“What?” Her worried eyes rested on his face.Pulling his phone out of his side pocket, he flipped it open.“I received this tonight. Or should I say last night since it's technically past midnight.”He dropped the phone on her lap, and Mia picked it up.Her eyes almost bulged out of its socket when she saw the raunchy scene playing.“Isn’t this the guy that–”“Offered you an out?”She whipped her head to him.“He is. That's Rhys. He's Olivia's step brother. And that's Olivia. This happened three days ago. I received the video tonight.”It all made sense to Mia why he was drunk now.“I'm

THE RAT

LUCADimitri lit up my cigarette as the car came to a stop and we alighted.“Is Niko up north?” I asked him.We headed for the private area at the beach where we were supposed to meet up with madam. The sign boldly said no smoking. But who the hell was anyone to tell me what the fuck I could do or not do?“He won't stop whining about it either. Why does he hate the Northside so badly?” Psst. His eyes shot at me because of my reaction. “What? You've known the guy for almost fifteen years and you still don't know?”“Boss, Niko only shares sentimental stuff with you. I tell him he can confide in me. You know I studied therapy right?”“Bullshit! Your mother used to sell drugs. She put you on, and you marketed it as therapeutic food. That doesn't make you a therapist, Dimitri.”“Really? Hmmm, could have fooled me.” He shrugged.I chuckled. Thick as he was in the head sometimes, he was hilarious, and could wield a gun better than most men I know. With the exception of me of course. I was

CLASH OF PRETTY

MIAI stared at the blank page in front of me, and sighed.Olivia Luxe had inspired me to take my writing seriously. She wrote with such beautiful prose, regardless of what it was she was writing.Whether it was just a summary of her day, or she was talking about a time from before. But ever since finding out she didn't write her pieces, I've been so empty. It felt like a betrayal of some sort. The garden view was supposed to be my inspiration, but it just made me feel more depressed.A heavy knock on my door dragged my attention to it.I hoped whatever was at the other side of the door was at least intriguing.“Give me a second,” I said, as I dashed to the door, and opened it. “Olivia?” I double blinked.“Thank you, Iris,” she said to the girl who smiled and walked away. “Can I come in?”“Su-sure.” I stepped aside for her to go through.Taking a deep breath, I shut the door and then turned around.“So– welcome?”“Drop the act. Are you fucking my fiancee?”“Sorry?”“I believe I asked

CONFRONTATION

LUCA“Wait here,” I said to Dimitri as I hopped out of the car in the private parking lot of Luxe Holdings.I guess because Olivia and I were a thing, I had some special privileges. The private parking lot offered me free entry into the elevator area that would take me to my destination.Which simply meant I didn't have to waste my time at the lobby. The security guy was about to ask for my ID when he saw my face.He saluted and stepped aside for me to go through.I went straight into the elevator, and punched the third floor. This was perhaps one of the most dumb things I had ever done, but I had a point to prove.Stepping out of the elevator, I flexed my knuckles first before carrying on to Rhys office. It was a Saturday. Normal people were spending time with their families. But since that cunt just needed to impress Darien so he could finally see him as something other than the offspring of the back on the table whore he used to bang, he liked to put in overtime.I didn't bother to

THE LAKE

Olivia followed Luca straight to his room, apologizing profusely.“You know your father doesn't want you with me. Maybe it's time for you to go.”He walked into his room and tried to shove the door in her face. She held it before it could close, and pushed it open.“I'm so sorry. I really am, Luca. I didn't think he would do something this stupid. I thought both of you were in a great place.”“Yeah I thought so too,” he said, running through his drawer in search of a pack of cigarettes. “I turn my back to him and what does he do? He stabs it! He fucking stabs it!”“And he'll pay for it, I promise. He'll pay double of everything he took!”He found the pack, and began folding his things back in place.Luca loved his properties properly arranged. His brain never rested until he got his things back to how he met them. “You know if your father was anyone else, he would have been dead already, I promise you. I would have killed him without any hesitation. I am holding back for you! And for

PLANNED ENCOUNTER

Luca saw that move. From the balcony where he sat with Niko to access damage and solutions, he heard chattering.“I guess the girls are out to play,” Niko said, pointing. He moved his head, and saw his Angels all out at the lake.Mia was also present.“She's very beautiful,” Niko said, noticing the moment he looked at Mia.“Who?”“Mia.”“I'll cut off your fingers if you touch her.”He half smiled. “Oh I know the rules. The queen of the night is untouchable. Even to you. Except, well she asks, right?”“She won't. Stay away from her.”“As you wish.” His smile spread, and then he turned to continue staring at her. They were both enjoying the view, when Mia took off her dress. Both inhaled sharply in sync.“Close your eyes, Niko,” Luca said to him.“Come on boss. She's not even naked like some of the other girls.”“Close it!”“Fine.”Niko averted his gaze, but still peeked to see.Luca watched her flip into the air, and landed acrobatically into the water. The girls began to cheer, chant

THE ASK

MIA He just stared at me for an uncomfortably long while.I didn't know what to say either. It was supposed to be a joke because I couldn't actually tell him my real intentions. How could I tell the devil I wanted to strangle the woman he was marrying soon? That just sounded like a ridiculously bad decision in my mind.He wasn't saying anything, so I decided to walk away. Not sure why, I just didn't feel comfortable anymore in the silence.I had taken only a step when his tough hand grabbed my elbow, and dragged me back. The bag containing my underwear slipped from my hand and landed on the ground. My back was slammed against the wall faster than I could take a breath.“You listen to me carefully,” his face leaned into mine, the only thing separating us being our breaths. “You don't get to die until you either complete your deal, or I kill you for failing. Do you understand?”I just bobbed my head like a zombie, not knowing what else to do.He was supposed to let go after making his
