ANOKAI'S POVThe words hung in the air like a challenge, and I felt my defiance surge despite the vulnerable position I was in. Cuffed to the bed, my nipples, breast and pussy exposed and surrounded by four alphas who looked at me like I was both prize and prey.Nikolai's hand pressed against my shoulder, not roughly, but with enough firmness to keep me in place. My body burned with desire, betraying me as my nipple hardened under his gaze, my breath coming out in slow huffs.Rowan moved closer, settling at the edge of the bed. He leaned in, placing a kiss on my earlobes before going fully on them, sucking them, licking them, his wet tongue taking it all down to my neck. His hand closed around my breast, squeezing hard, a rush of pleasure and pain shooting through me. As his hand kneaded and tugged, his tongue flicked over my nipple, swirling, licking, sucking on them like he was trying to draw something out.Shame and pleasure tangled within me, my face red with embarrassment as I tu

NIKOLAI’S POVThe entire room coiled with tension, every alpha in attendance from the wedding in the meeting room. The long table felt smaller than usual, the scent of their unease and fear clinging to every corner of the room. We sat at the center of the table, my seat at the end with Malachi at my right. Emiriel sat in the middle, Rowan ending the line beside him. Rowan’s face was contorted in anger, one I could feel from where I was seated. I could tell everything that was going on in his head, one minute and one wrong thing, and blood would definitely be spilled in the room. Malachi looked the same, anger and rage simmering beneath his clothing. And Emiriel looked Emiriel, his face too stoic and crazingly calm to get an answer out or a reaction. In just a day, the pack has been breached, our guards dead with no trace of whoever or whichever bastard was involved. This wasn’t just an attack. It was defiance, disgrace, and stupid. Whoever did this needed to be punished, toyed wit

ANOKAI’S POV.I woke up the next morning feeling more settled than the night before. I had tossed and turned throughout the entire night, desperate for a release, wanting the buildup in my core to be expelled and out, but I got none. I tried using my hand. I had never tried before, never touched myself, and even as my fingers went in and out of me, my slick coating the one finger I used, it wasn’t the same as theirs; it did nothing to quiet the release I badly desired. I wanted theirs—all of their fingers. I craved all of them together again, on top of me, behind me, fingers in me, hands on me, sucking, licking, biting. But I wasn’t going to let them have it. I needed a bit of power, control. And as long as I hold my ground, they’ll learn to respect that I’m not someone easy to have. I had gone from aching, to anger, and frustration, cursing them before finally drifting to sleep. Rissa was the one who woke me up this morning, helping me out of the cuffs, which I drowned in embarr

MALACHI’S POVSomething was wrong. Something was terribly wrong. I shut my eyes as I collapsed on the bed, vivid images of the horror I had seen in each of the packs replaying in my head, my body going still as it relived everything. It was the same with our guards, their bodies on the ground with just a slash on their neck, nothing more, nothing less. Their houses were untouched, their doors unbroken. It looked like whoever or whatever had happened had been invited willingly, or at least knew them. I dragged a breath in, feeling my wolf curling within me, begging to be let out, to destroy something, to maim.I wondered who or what it could be. Because this wasn’t a rogue's work and for a reason I couldn’t quite put my hands on, it wasn’t random. They were doing it on purpose; someone was trying to get our attention and didn’t care what method they used, as long as we noticed. I had seen babies, children, all of them splayed on the floor as if they were nothing, most of them alre

ANOKAI’S POV"Get behind me," I said, my voice steadier than I expected."My lady…""Behind me. Now."Rissa moved, pressing herself against my back. I could feel her shaking, could hear her rapid breathing. The wolves continued their approach, yellow eyes gleaming with hunger and violence. My mind raced. I wasn't a fighter. I'd shifted once in my life, and that had ended in disaster. I had no weapons, no training, nothing but…My hand closed around a piece of broken wood from a nearby stall. It wasn't much, barely larger than my forearm, but it was something."Stay back!" I shouted, raising the makeshift weapon. "Don't come any closer!"The largest wolf, a massive black beast with a torn ear let out a low, rumbling growl. It sounded like laughter. They didn't stop."I'm warning you!" My voice pitched higher, desperation bleeding through. "The alphas will kill you for this!”Still, they advanced. My heart was pounding faster in my chest, the words I’d vowed to myself never to use findi
