Two weeks went by without incident and after three days I had told the Zetas to go home. I wasn’t worried about Noah but I was still alert. I was standing in front of the windows that looked out at the Bitterroot River. I would go to a back room as soon as Noah and his father arrived. Russel and Ray were also there and would act as Kiran’s Zetas. Noah sat behind his desk and opened the drawer. He looked at the notebook and frowned. Written in the front was Ulfr Banamaðr. Why had they driven to Bitterroot Lake and asked the head Alpha to join the Council? He opened the book and started to read the last few entries.I’m finally home and then the heartbreaking news that Jo didn’t wait for me. I’m not mad, everybody thought I was dead. I lay awake at night because the nightmares of what I went through are so terrible that I don’t want to close my eyes. Noah opened the book again and continued reading. It felt surreal reading the words he wrote, but not remembering writing them. He had his work cut out for him. Someone wanted him to forget all this and now he was adamant at exposing the truth.I have no choice now, I’ll petition the World Council and give them Alex’s identity as the wolf killer. She forced my hand in doing this. Maybe when he’s dead I can go see her first as a friend and offer my sympathies. Once he’s cremated she’ll need someone to lean on and that will be me. More than a year went by without any incidents and I began to relax. Noah’s location showed him in Leavenworth, mostly at his house and he seldom left the town borders and I relaxed more. Our lives went back to the way it was before I knew Noah Rivers existed.The kids grew at an alarming rate and before I knew it we had our second annual Council meeting and we encountered no problems. Levi didn’t show up for that meeting either but we didn’t replace him and I doubted we ever would.I kept myself busy with the construction of a meeting hall about twenty miles from our house on another property I’d bought that would mainly be used for Council Meetings. It kept me busy and I hadn’t killed anyone in six months. I didn’t really have time to go look for evil doers between the construction and the safehouse and I was quite surprised by my next visitor.I had just dropped Regen and Rayne off at daycare and I noticed his car following me. I drove to the grocery store and his car slowed down.

Noah and Fred spent a lot more time together unraveling the mystery that was Alex Jennings. They had traveled to White Sulphur Springs and Boulder and Noah would leave his phone with a pack member. I was busy tracing Jason Kingsley’s credit card and GPS and I was following his trail from gas station to gas station and shop to shop. This guy wasn’t a professional and he had just taken her, didn’t know where to yet but he was still using his card and he wasn’t that far from us.His phone had pinged off a tower just outside Harlowton and then it was switched off. I brought up a satellite image of the area and looked at the town. We waited another hour until full darkness had settled around us and I explained to Malcolm how we would do this while we waited. Not one car had passed us as we waited and we crossed the road quickly. It was 5 PM and I was about to close the laptop for the day when the message came through. Someone had just hacked into the Council’s server. I sat there and watched him as he accessed the lists of members on the Council and I started my own trace, copying everything he was doing while also searching his own computer.When he accessed Kiran’s emails I added both our names to the search on his computer and I sat back and watched him. I smiled and turned his camera on as I hacked his computer and I looked at his face.
