Lahat ng Kabanata ng Falling for my Vampire Captain : Kabanata 41 - Kabanata 50

Calen’s POVI couldn’t focus.Professor Martinez was lecturing about economic policy, his voice droning on in that monotone way that usually put half the class to sleep. But today it wasn’t boredom keeping me distracted.‘We’ll continue from where we stopped last night.’Morrison’s words kept replaying in my head. The way he’d whispered them, the implication behind them. The memory of what had happened in the bathroom made my stomach twist uncomfortably.I should have felt… what? Flattered? Desired? Something positive, surely. Morrison clearly wanted me. Was showing me attention in ways Karl never had.So why did the thought of going to his office later make anxiety crawl up my spine?“Mr. Calen?”Professor Martinez’s voice cut through my thoughts. I looked up to find him staring at me expectantly, along with the rest of the class.“Sorry, what?” I asked.“I asked you to explain the difference between fiscal and monetary policy.” His tone was sharp with irritation. “Were you paying at

Karl’s POVThe question hit me like a physical blow.“What?” I stared at Calen, trying to process what he’d just asked. “Kill you? Calen, I would never…”“Don’t lie to me.” His voice was sharp, defensive. “I saw the texts. The messages where you told someone to handle the ‘benchwarmer situation’ permanently. To make it look perfect.”Horror washed over me. “That’s what Morrison showed you? Those texts?”“Yes. And don’t try to deny they’re real. I saw your name…”“They’re fake,” I interrupted. “Calen, those messages are fabricated, how many times do I have to tell you. I never sent anything like that. I would never hurt you. How can you even think…”“Then why?” Calen’s voice cracked. “Why go through all this with Sophia? Why push me away if you actually cared? You wanted me gone so you could be with her without disturbance. That’s what this is really about, isn’t it?”The pain in his voice was gutting. He actually believed this. Morrison had twisted everything so thoroughly that Calen

Karl’s POV“Today,” Mike said, his voice tight with urgency. “Morrison is going to make his move today. The lunar more is perfect for what he needs. If he’s going to extract Calen’s blood for the cure, it has to be now.”I’d been pacing my apartment since Mike’s call at dawn, my nerves stretched to the breaking point. “How do you know?”“I overheard some of the older vampires talking. They’ve been preparing for weeks. Morrison has a facility… not here on campus. Somewhere in the Old District.”The Old District. Where vampires conducted business they didn’t want humans to know about. Where our laws superseded human ones.If Morrison took Calen there, getting him back would be nearly impossible.“I’m going to campus,” I said, grabbing my keys. “I’ll get Calen before Morrison can get to him. Keep him somewhere safe until this blows over.”“I’ll come with you,” Mike said.We drove to campus together, my hands white-knuckled on the steering wheel. I kept checking my phone, hoping for a tex

Karl’s POV“You’re not their target,” I said firmly, trying to project more confidence than I felt. “Those attacks aren’t about you, Calen. I promise.”But even as I said it, unease crawled through me. Vampires attacking humans this openly, this carelessly… it wasn’t normal. Something had shifted in our world, and I didn’t understand what.“How can you be sure?” Calen asked, his voice still shaking.“Because I know how these things work.” I sat beside him on the bed, pulling him close. “If Morrison wanted to send you a message, it would be direct and personal. Not killing random students in the woods.”Calen leaned into me, and I felt some of the tension leave his body. “I’m scared.”“I know. But you’re safe here. I won’t let anything happen to you.”I made him eat, forcing small bites of food despite his protests that he wasn’t hungry. He needed to rebuild his strength, needed the nutrients to replace what Morrison had stolen.By the time he finished, exhaustion was pulling at him ag

Karl’s POVThe Council chambers were packed when I arrived.Every vampire in the region had been summoned… regional authorities, clan leaders, even some of the younger members who rarely attended these gatherings. The air was thick with tension and barely suppressed violence.Morrison stood at the center, looking healthier than he had any right to be. The injuries I’d given him should have kept him weak for months, but somehow he’d recovered enough to command this assembly. The moment I walked in, all eyes turned to me.“Karl Brennan,” Morrison said, his voice carrying through the chamber. “How convenient that you’ve arrived.”Something in his tone set off alarm bells. “What’s going on?”“Another body was found an hour ago,” one of the clan leaders said. “A human student drained completely.”My stomach dropped. “Where?”“Near your apartment building.”The implication hung heavy in the air. Near my apartment. Where Calen was.“You think I did this?” I said, my voice dangerous.“The evi
