 Tiara stood among the Dark Moon warriors at the edge of the dueling ground. Her eyes were locked on Edwin and Garrett as their blades clashed against each other, over and over again. The tension in the air became more suffocating as every strike brought about gasps and shouts from the crowd. The pressure pressed down on her chest. But then, without prior warning, her focus wavered. A sharp flash of heat and smoke rippled through her senses. Her wolf stirred, her heart jolting as visions flickered across her mind. In her vision, she saw grain stores burning with its flames clawing the sky. She also saw blackened water being drawn from the wells, and wolves inside the pack whispering in fear, with suspicion darkening their eyes. She gasped, panting loudly and heavily the moment she was back to reality.  The duel had dragged into blood and exhaustion. Edwin, bruised and bleeding, had finally forced Garrett back with a desperate strike in the chest, leaving the older man retreating to regroup. For now, the battlefield was quiet, but Edwin knew it was not yet over. He had barely even got the chance to catch his breath when Ralph pushed through the warriors, wearing a grim expression.  "My Alpha," Ralph said, bowing quickly before pulling him aside. Seeing the swift movements made by Ralph, Vanessa jumped to her feet, wondering why he had acted in such a manner. Noticing her uneasiness, Ralph turned to her. "I would like it if you could excuse us, my lady,"  Although Edwin was puzzled and weak, he gave Tiara a nod. Almost a reassurance.  "What is going on, Ralph? What is this about?" Edwin said, falling onto a couch in the tent. 

"None of those things are true. If for anything, Tiara is the reason we got a wind of the fire, and she is definitely not the cause of Garrett's betrayal. He is simply a traitor who got tired of hiding,"  Ralph did not flinch. "Lies, yes. But these lies are dangerous ones. If you do not move quickly, my lord," he whispered. "You will not only lose Tiara, she will also lose her rightful position as luna, and you will lose the pack's faith. And once that is gone, there will be nothing..." He paused, leaving the remaining words heavily hung in the air. For a moment, Edwin closed his eyes, fighting down the rage. Garrett had tried to kill him with a sword. Vanessa was trying to kill and take over his pack with whispers and lies. Both of which were equally deadly. Before Edwin could respond, the entrance to the tent flapped. The guard hesitated but did not lower his weapon. Murmurs spread through the circle, unease thickening. Another guard growled. "What if this is a trap? What if Garrett sent them to slit our throats while we sleep?" "You took the words right out of my mouth. "If Garrett had been stupid enough to send a spy into our camp, then they'd already be dead where they stand. I am convinced that they are here for something else.
