~RED FLARE PACK~The moment father stepped in through the front door, he immediately noticed the pitch darkness in the house. Still in his work clothes, with the faint smell of the pack's iron factory still clinging to his shirt, he flipped the switch and the lights came on. His eyes then scanned the empty and very quiet sitting room.He had worked a long shift, longer than usual, and all he had thought about on the walk back home was sitting down, eating a warm dinner, and checking on his wife, my mother."Stella?" He called out to her, dropping his tools by the door, but no one answered him.He walked into the sitting room and stopped abruptly as he noticed that mother's breakfast was still on the small table by the window, exactly where he had left it arranged for her before heading out that morning. The bowl was full, the bread untouched, a thin film of cold having settled over everything long ago. It was obvious that she hadn't eaten a single bite of it since morning.“She hasn't

Having seen the security guards in such a large number through the room window and now hearing them at the front door, my parents exchanged confused and questioning glances. They couldn't contain their shock.“An order from the Alpha? What could be going on?” Mum muttered, and dad shrugged, still confused.“I have no idea. Everything seemed normal when I was on my way back from the factory. I mean, nothing looked out of place.” He responded, whispering too.“OPEN UP! IF YOU DON'T OPEN THIS DOOR RIGHT NOW, WE'LL BE FORCED TO BREAK DOWN THE DOOR.” The voice yelled again, banging at the door.Father quickly rushed to the door, with mum following closely behind him. And within seconds, the door was opened. The leader of the security team then barged in with his troops rushing in too, leaving mum and dad utterly stunned.“Search everywhere. Every nook and cranny. Search every single place.” He ordered his team members.“Yes, sir.” They nodded, and instantly got to work, searching everywher

“Wait, what?!” Mother exclaimed, completely shocked.“How is that even possible?” Father muttered, equally shocked.“I honestly have no idea.” Beta Raphael responded, also finding it hard to believe.“How can such a thing even happen right in the Alpha's quarters?” Raphael muttered under his breath, but it was loud enough for my parents to hear him.“Exactly, with so many guards over there, ensuring everyone's safety.” Father nodded in support.“Was it not in that same quarters that Jake was kidnapped? Right under his father's roof.” Mother hissed. “Ensuring everyone's safety, my foot.” She hissed again, and father cleared his throat. He nudged her gently with his shoulder and she turned to look at him with a not-so-pleasant look on her face.He gestured with his head for her to look at Raphael, who looked obviously disappointed in himself that the case of the kidnap was still not resolved yet.Mother sighed.“I'm so sorry about everything that has happened.” Raphael apologized, and f

The door clicked shut behind Raphael, while Alpha Jackson stood in the middle of his study and stared at it.His fist closed slowly at his side, the knuckles tightening until the pressure ran all the way up his forearm, and he held it there, his jaw clenched, his eyes fixed on the door that had just swallowed his Beta whole without giving him a single word of farewell worth responding to.He had a lot to say but at that moment, none of them had made it out of his mouth in the right order, and now Raphael was gone and the study was quiet. He closed his eyes as he tried to think but his phone rang again, interrupting his thoughts. He opened his eyes and looked at the screen. It was Sophia again. He answered it on the second ring, and pressed the phone to his ear."Jackson…" Her voice came through immediately, breaking apart at the edges and sounding just like someone who was struggling to speak through tears. "Jackson, I don't feel safe. I don't feel safe here. I feel targeted. I feel

~MOON DAWN PACK~"Elena!"The faint familiar voice calling my name came from somewhere above me, tugging and pulling me upward through the dark realm of sleep."Elena, wake up."A pair of hands gripped my shoulder and shook it firmly, with the kind of urgency of someone who was getting impatient.I groaned, turning my face away from the disturbance, but it just wouldn't stop."Elena!" The voice yelled my name once again and this time, I finally peeled my eyes open.Mira's face was directly above mine, close enough that I could see every line of tension running through her face. Her eyes were sharp, wide and very much awake.I slowly blinked at her.“Huh? What is it?” I grunted, still not ready to wake up. "Are we under attack?" I asked, my voice still rough with sleep. "Did something catch fire? Is the whole place burning down?""Are you trying to be funny right now?" She stared at me, her expression showing no jokes at all."A little bit, yes." I cleared my throat and pushed myself u
