Alex's POV I stood as close as they'd allow, watching them work. The male twin hadn't shifted into position the way his sister had... something about how he was lying, transverse, wrong, the obstetrician's voice cutting through instructions I barely understood as she moved her hands, working to turn him. Time stopped mattering. Everything narrowed into that single, airless space of watching, waiting, willing him to move. "Come on. Just come out. You're almost here." They delivered him breech. Pale. Too still, at first, his small body limp in the doctor's hands, and my chest seized with a fear I couldn't have prepared for no matter how many months I'd spent imagining this moment. Then they worked. Stimulation. Oxygen. A cry. Weak, but real. Two children. Two cries. For one single, fragile moment, the room softened entirely.... relief flooding through every exhausted face, the neonatal team carrying him toward support while his sister remained stable nearby.
