Olivia’s POV:I woke up slowly at the heat of the sun brushing against my skin. It slipped through the curtains and for a moment, I just laid there, staring at the ceiling with my hand resting over my stomach. My mind went back to Lucious. I missed him…dearly, and a smile tugged at my lips before I could stop it.I pushed myself out of bed and stretched out lazily.I felt a certain kind of energy settling into my body that made me hyper or too energetic and I hadn’t felt it in days.It was strange… but I needed it.I hummed softly as I walked downstairs, and reached the kitchen…which was empty.I smiled and moved around the kitchen and pulled out ingredients without thinking.I took out some flour, eggs and milk. I mixed everything together to form the batter. And when the batter hit the pan, the soft sizzle made something in my chest loosen.I kind of was in a state of torpor since Lucious left, but I felt really good today.I exhaled deeply in satisfaction and by the time I sat dow

Olivia’s POV:I stepped into the hallway and closed the door behind me and saw Kane standing there with his back leaned against the wall like he had all the time in the world.I didn’t like that he looked comfortable, like this whole thing was normal.Showing up at my workplace unannounced and refusing to leave was just out of it.I walked toward him slowly and stopped a few steps away.“You have five minutes,” I said.He didn’t answer immediately and just looked at me.“Well?” I added.“I saw and heard people talking about you,” he said.I folded my arms and looked him straight in the eye. “People talk,” I replied. “That’s not new.”“It was a rumor, Olivia.” He blurted out.I held his gaze. “So?”He pushed himself off the wall and stepped closer.“Olivia, it was about the thing going on with you and my father.” He added. So that was why he was here. But I wasn’t surprised actually.I mean, after hearing people talk in the mall, I figured it was much better to stay nonchalant and jus

Lucious POV:I watched her carefully but she didn’t look away this time and she pulled back slightly.“Kane came to see me yesterday,” she said again.I narrowed my eyes. “And you’re just saying that now?”She exhaled. “I didn’t think it mattered, especially when you were on a business trip. I didn’t want to bother you.”That made my chest tighten and also melt. “It matters,” I said. She tilted her head slightly. “You sound bothered.”“I am,” I replied calmly. “I saw him at the airport today.”That caught her off guard.“You saw him?” she asked. “At the airport?”“Yes.”Her brows pulled together.“What on earth was he doing there?”“He came for me.”Her expression shifted into a mix of confusion and anger.“And?” she asked carefully.“He tried to attack me.” I said gently, possibly letting the weight of the words feel a little lighter. Her eyes widened slightly. “What?”“He didn’t get far,” I added. “Security handled it.”She stared at me for a moment and she shook her head softly.“Th

Olivia’s POV:I woke up slowly, like I was being pulled out of a dream…the warmth of Lucious on my skin reminded me that this wasn’t a dream, it was real.I didn’t know I had the right to be this happy until Lucious came and I never regretted any moment.I just lay there, as my body was too heavy with sleep.I exhaled slowly as I laid there lying beside him, curled up beside, and his arm wrapped around me loosely.Carefully, I tilted my head up to look at him and saw that he was still asleep. His face seemed relaxed, maybe because of the trip and the lovely activity that went down last night…he probably was tired. His lashes rested against his skin, and his breathing was slow while his lips parted slightly.I stared at him longer than I intended to and a smile tugged at my lips before I even realized it.How did this even happen? How did I end up here… with him?Gently and slowly, I lifted my hand and traced along his face carefully, because I was afraid he might wake up if I pressed

Kane’s POV:I was walking through the mall when two women passed by me, their voices were low but not low enough for me“That’s him, his son.” One said.“The one from the airport?” Another asked.“And his father…with that girl…Olivia, right?” They continued. They didn’t even bother to hide it, so they were now the talk of the town now…right.I just kept on walking, like I didn’t hear them and like it didn’t matter… but it did.By the time I stepped out of the mall, I heard it again, from different people with different expressions.Everything went down to my father being together with Olivia. It actually spread really fast…I must commend that.I scurried out of the mall and got into my car and shut the door harder than necessary. The sound echoed for a second before everything went quiet again.I sat there, staring into the blank space…then I laughed hysterically. He took everything from me. My reputation, my life and even Olivia too.My grip tightened on the steering wheel as my min
