Xander's POV.But that grin was quickly erased from my face when I got inside the room and found it empty. The bed was a mess with no trace of her. She wasn't naked and spread on it like I expected her to be. The dead silence followed as if someone had just pinched me in my stomach.I walked towards the bathroom, hoping she was in there. The bitter feeling builds inside me with each step. I kicked the door open but I found that the bathroom was as empty as her room. My heart threatened to give me a fucking heart attack as I searched every corner of the room where Iris could be hiding and I couldn't find her in any of them.Iris Paige is fucking gone.I pulled up my phone, dialing the number I needed, waiting for the fucker to pick up.He picked up in the first ring. I could hear loud music playing in the background when he spoke. “I'm listening.” Angelo sounded as if he were having the time of his life. I wouldn't be surprised if a girl is sucking him off right now as we speak.“Iris

Xander's POV.Birthday parties were never my thing. I try as much as I can to isolate myself on my own birthday, much less attend someone else's, even that of Julian and his sister, Iris. So it wasn't a surprise that I didn't know when her birthday was because it was never really something I was interested in.“I want you to attend. We have to use it in our favor.” A big smile spread across my father’s face as he leaned back on the sofa with a triumphant grin.“Do I have to remind you that I'm the last person Julian wants to see right now especially at a celebration for his sister?” It was my turn to laugh now. That little spitfire most likely opened her mouth and told her brother everything. Well, maybe not everything. I can swear that she missed the little detail where she opened her thighs for me, where she grabbed my cock, demanding to be fucked, where she jumped on my cock, screaming my name as she came undone. I have every intention to keep that little detail to myself as well.

Iris's Pov.I smiled at the lady passing by, greeting me as if we were long-lost friends. I didn't know her name. I had never seen her before but I pretended I did. She was probably one of my mum's many friends.Honestly, I should be given a reward for the way I handled this whole facade.Faking a smile to people I don't even know should become my professional job, given how excellent I am at doing so.You're not doing this for yourself alone, Iris. You're doing this for your family. That was why I was still in the living room, surrounded by my mother's guests, and not in my room, where no one would be able to bother me.If you were here as a stranger and didn't know what was happening, you'd think this party was for my mum considering that it was mostly her friends around here.Julian soon crashed his body on the chair next to mine, making me escape from my thoughts. He seemed more worried and annoyed than usual. He was tapping with his fingers on the table, his gaze looking straigh

Iris's Pov.Just as I was about to exit the room, my path was blocked a bit aggressively by nine people other than Ethan. His hand held my arm with a gentle, yet forced hold. There was no sign of that warm smile on his face.“What's going on, Iris? What's Xander doing here?” He asked. “I thought I was gonna surprise you for your birthday. You know, show me that I can stand up to your brother and you act like that with Xander? Did something happen between you two?” I felt the note of jealousy in his voice but I pretended that I didn't.“What are you talking about? That's Julian's friend. Of course, nothing happened. And I don't remember inviting you to my party. Don't think that kiss changed anything.” I quipped.“Nothing happened? Didn't seem like that from the way you were dancing with him.” His jaw clenched, staring down at me. I didn't miss how he comfortably ignored my last sentence.“Listen, Ethan, I need to use the bathroom. We'll talk later, okay.”I didn't even give him a chan

Iris's PovJust like I suspected, he read through my nonsense, inching closer, gripping my chin with force with his fingers. “Do you want to test that theory?” He shook his head sideways, the smirk still playing on his face. “A little game? What do you say?”“I'm done playing games with you, Xander,” I said but he ignored me as he took another step closer, forcing my body back against the door. The blade made a tiny cut in his throat as my hands shook. I let out a whimper when his hand slid an inch down, wrapping his long fingers around my throat like an invisible necklace, forcing my head back. I'm sure he could feel my wild pulse in my throat from under his grip. His other hand danced down my body, slowly, painfully, leaving bristling shocks behind him. He inched towards me, his lips one breath away from mine. The blade on his neck didn't stop him as his lips curled up cruelly while his hand found the high slit of my dress, slipping his hand underneath it. His palm grabbed my puss
